She added thicker straps, hemmed the bottom beautifully, removed a layer of unnecessary fabric, added breast pads, and gave me a beautiful shape by fixing the whole top half. So of course, I turned to Yelp to find my best options. There was a shop in Medford, MA in my hometown, but based on Lynn's good reviews I decided to trek all the way to North Andover. If you are coming from the 93, be prepared to drive through a national forest (pretty cool and calming to be honest) to get here, but trust me... it's worth your trip. Lynn does a FANTASTIC job on alternations. She listened to what I wanted, gave advice and suggestions (and yes, she knows her stuff) but ultimately what made me love her the most was how easy she was to work with. I went 4x to try my dress and towards the end I made a very late decision to take out the push up part of my bust (sorry TMI!) and she worked with me and even went in early two days later so I could try it on before I left for my wedding. I cannot say I was the easiest bride, but I can say she was ALWAYS so pleasant to work with. There are comments below about her price points, while I will say wedding dress or formal dress alternations are NOT cheap, it really matters with quality of the alterations. Wedding dresses are not "one size fits all" in fact mine was way too big for me and Lynn did a perfect job to get my dress to flatter my body type. So in the end I was and still am willing to pay $ for good alternations and exceptional customer service. The comments I got on how fitted my dress was were insurmountable and I truly felt like a beautiful bride on my wedding day. Other plus' about her shop are that it's off the Turnpike in North Andover, not too far from 93 and there is always plenty of parking. I drove to see Lynn from Medford and it wasn't that bad of a ride. Definitely call to make an appointment, you won't regret it!

I had brought my pants in and I even brought a sample size pants which I saw her measure and when she returned them to me as you can see the cream color pants the hemming had uneven legs and wasn't even the length of the sample. When I took it back in she measure it again and still made the mistake a second time. This is the longest reviews I've made it and I would feel injustice if I let anyone else consider this place without knowing what I've been through. She had my wedding gown for over 3 months and didn't touch it until a few days before I need to pick it up. She bustled my gown completely wrong. It was falling all night and everyone was stepping on it. She used these ugly white hooks that were noticeable on my ivory gown. I had maggie also alter my second wedding dress- she cut off the train for me which is what i wanted but having it all the same length would of been nice. She was also hired to take it in on the waist about 2 inches on each side. But not listening and rushing like she always does, she took it in 4 inches on each side. I found this out 3 days before the wedding!!!!! I went back 2 days before and it was still extremely tight. She said she would fix it and add another hook because the one on the dress was to small. To top it all off she was also hired for the alteration on the bridal parties dresses- she blamed it on my girls that they showed up for the wrong appointment at the wrong time- she is so stupid that she didn't even look at the name on the dress to alter them in order like she scheduled the appointments. After contacting her after my wedding and honeymoon she agreed to give me back $100 of the $500 I spent- After sending her over a dozen text messages and a 1/2 a dozen phone calls she choose to ignore me. The shop location is now closed which Im not shock by at all. Maggie is the worst seamstress I have ever hired.... everyone please read the reviews about a place before trusting a stranger!!!! If it can be tailored, I have likely had it tailored. Experience has taught me that the best tailors are older European women who smoke butts. Truth be told: I don't know if Maria smokes butts...but I can tell you that she is an older European woman who is one hell of a tailor!! I have been to see her many times and she is great.
