Now keep in mind you need to be a Salem Hospital employee to be a member but the dues are good (30 a month, less for longer plans) and the equipment is passable. All the free weights you need and a good mix of the rest. 5 treadmills (3 good) and 4 ellipticals (2 good) and a few other odds and ends. Normally the gym is pretty empty which I enjoy because I'm not one to enjoy fighting for machine time or having my workout disrupted because i have to reconfigure. The TV situation is pretty bad and the music situation isn't great either. But bring you mp3 player and get some lasik surgery and you'll be fine. Just put the weights back where they belong when your done people! Also the gym steward is awesome and will help you with classes and workout routines etc. If your looking for a meat market where you spend 60 bucks a month for a pool you never use and 20 machine that will never see a drop of your sweat and isn't located centrally to your lifestyle then you should probably pass on this deal.

So to get even close to hrs 4 so you average 30 mins a day of exercise as recommended you're going everyday. Like when at 5:30 am? Additionally for the amount of money this costs, instructors should be adjusting folks more esp. when there are back exercises I see a lot of people not doing back exercises properly. Classes are also not challenging enough, we don't use the long band enough, and they need to have heavier weights.

The whole building is a flash back from the 70's and not in a good way. There's holes in walls. It's very dark inside most of the lights are burnt out. AC I don't think works, feels like a sauna. I found a board blocking a hole in the corner that looked like a mouse hole. Two major spots with broken mirror GLASS on the wall that hasn't been touched in the months I've been here, waiting for someone to cut themselves. I've seen people bring their kids inside. Talk about a law suit waiting to happen. I've seen multiple pieces of equipment broke with no out of service signs and has never got fixed still broken. Most of the bench's are cracked and wearing holes. The screws that hold the plates onto the dumbbells back out all the time. Just waiting for one to land on my face. Half the buttons on the treadmills don't work and I could hear one of the ellipticals rattling so bad everyone in the gym was staring because we thought it was about to fall apart. I walked past the same trash can multiple times for at least a month that was overflowing. The mens bathroom has carpet on the floor in the changing room and in the toilet stall GROSS! . Also the the showers in the mens bathroom as like 3 heads and it's all open. It's not high school. I'm not looking to shower naked with a bunch of other men. Plus the tile in the mens bath room looks like Bigfoot had an abortion on it. I wouldn't walk on it with 10ft stilts. I'm not sure if the owners of this gym just choose not to hire a manger or invest any money into their building and do basic maintenance and repairs but it's clear its either lacking the money for it or they just turn a blind eye. I don't want to shit all over their business cause it's a local gym but come on, at least take care of Your equipment. The product that makes you money! The reason your paying customers are there. I can't even find an email or a phone number on their website to tell them of their broken machines. I honestly would send people to tornado fitness in Aumsville instead. I really hope this gym gets the love and care it needs.

I go during the week in the day and have the place to myself many times. You don't have all the "gym rats" and "grunters" most of the time. You do get a group of annoying teenage boys in the late evenings sometimes who leave the place a mess at times and you have to put their weights back and clean up after them. I think a few random trips at night by the owners would deter this. There is a 24hr Fitness in town but it is very small and doesn't have half the equipment this one does,which is much better bang for the buck I think.
