Really upset about my experience with Prosper Trail. I just moved to the area recently so I have been trying to find a veteran for my cat. She is 14 years old and has hyperthyroidism, so she is very skinny and frail. Because of her condition and age our previous veteran (back home) refused to give my cat her up to date rabies vaccine. There was concern that getting the vaccine in her current state would give her other more serious side effects. My cat is an indoor cat, never been outside, never around other pets and at this point is very old. Prosper Trail refused to see my cat and treat her because she wasn't up to date on her rabies vaccine. I don't understand how a place that should have an animals best interest in mind would refuse to see her when her potentially being at risk getting the vaccine is out of mine and my cat's control. She desperately needed to be looked at because of her condition and other serious health issues such as finding blood in her stool. I don't understand why the focus was on trying to give her a vaccine and not helping her. I am very sad about my experience here. read more

I don't even know where to start! We are new to the area, and had not been able to find a new vet for our furry family members yet. We had the misfortune of getting to a turning point in our senior Dane's life suddenly and needed to send him home over the rainbow bridge. All of the at home services were booked out and I knew my sweet boy couldn't wait any longer. I can't express how thankful I am that Prosper Trail Animal Hospital made the decision to fit us into their booked morning to help me make sure Atticus left this world with as much dignity as possible. I am humbled by the sincere kindness and sympathy that we were given that morning by every team member we encountered, even though we were strangers. I took my dogs here for the first time yesterday and had a very strange experience. I have two French bulldogs, ages 1 & 3. I also have an 11 y/o pit bull but he did not come to this appointment. My husband and I just moved to the area and we were excited to find a new vet for our dogs. When I called and made the appointment, the lady on the phone could not have been sweeter. She seemed excited to meet our pups and I felt really good about this place before even going. Yesterday I arrived at the appointment, and luckily they are allowing owners to go inside with their pets. The vet tech met me outside and walked myself and my two dogs inside. From start to finish of this appointment, this vet tech assisted us. Not once did she greet or acknowledge the dogs. She didn't ask who was who until she absolutely had to in order to give them shots. She had a mask on but I can guarantee you she never once cracked a smile. Didn't pet the dogs or say they were cute. Nothing. Maybe this is the crazy dog mom in me, but I think that's super weird?! Shouldn't people working in the vet industry be animal lovers? I don't think I've ever had an experience with a vet tech where they completely ignored my pets for the entirety of the appointment. We walked past the front desk with multiple vet techs on our way in and out and no one acknowledged us or extended a friendly hello. The vet herself, Dr. Willingham, was very nice once I met her. This is the only reason I'm giving more than 1 star, plus the office itself was clean and nice. I know that sometimes people can be judgmental of French bulldog owners, which I honestly understand. There are a lot of unethical breeders out there selling French bulldogs to people who can't afford to care for the medical issues that often arise with Frenchies. We take very good care of our dogs and would spare no expense to keep them happy and healthy. We actually didn't bring our older dog because he's currently undergoing chemotherapy for lymphoma, and has been since May. Our dogs are our children. So while I can understand that some people don't agree with breeding and buying French bulldogs, I've never seen that cold demeanor extended to the actual dogs! It's not their fault that they are French bulldogs and I sure they would have appreciated a hello or a pet from someone in that office. I'm not sure if the vet tech was annoyed that they were French bulldogs, or if she doesn't like animals, or if she just hates her job. Regardless, I left with the impression that it was one of the 3 above options and it doesn't make me want to come back. I don't feel comfortable entrusting someone like that to care for my dogs when they clearly don't even like them. I guess maybe you might have a good experience if you take another breed? But I'll have to continue my search and hopefully find a friendlier office with staff who loves all dogs, no matter their breed. read more

If you want to have your cat spayed be prepared for a bait and switch on the price. I was originally told $450 and then after they had my cat for over 4 hours I was called and told it would now be $750. Make sure you get the bid in writing as they will try for a money grab. They told me my cat had a heart murmur but I took my cat to another vet the next day who said she did not have a heart murmur. Because they get you to sign a form saying no cancellations you cannot re-coop your money. I tried with my bank but they sided with the deceitful doctor. I canceled my account and will re-coop my money another way and the credit card company will absorb the price. Get the bid in writing. read more

We switched to Prosper Trail Animal Hospital after reading all the positive reviews, only to end up very disappointed. First, to try and schedule an appointment, we were always placed on hold for several minutes without exception. Upon arriving at the clinic, we were directed to park in a spot and call the office to let them know we arrived. Again, we were on hold 5-10 minutes every time. Then, we were not allowed in to visit personally with the vet. They would call after seeing our pups to let us know how well they were doing. We decided to switch to another local vet that was not freaked out about COVID and, fortunately, the vet was able to detect some sort of obstruction in one of our dog's intestines. Emergency surgery removed a sizeable cancerous tumor and our pup is back 100%. I have no doubt that making the change saved our dog's life!! read more

They have gone from 4 drs to 2 drs and are booked out 2 months for pets to get a simple bordetella & distemper vaccine. Jessica at the front said "well we are operating with half of the drs we used to have but with the same client base we had with 4 so it's doubled our time to see pets." Wow. Let me make it easier and help reduce your same client base so you can operate properly. Unacceptable. Said office manager was too busy to talk to me but would call me "when she gets time". Call Banfield or Windmill...they can see you within 3 days. read more

She comes from an all veterinarian family, steeped in Aggie heritage and even married an Aggie waterpolo/Landscape Architect. The combination of all this prime education, experience & heritage comes to bear on pets whose owners are wise enough to bring them here for care. On one visit, Alexis (Dr. Willingham) showed us a bad organ she removed from a sick dog, now looking more relieved, poor thing. Surgery on tap when needed. read more

We love this place! We take our two dogs and cat here and they are always taken care of well. Our dogs even get excited when they see that we are pulling up into their parking lot! I moved to Texas 1.5 years ago and have tried two different animal hospitals for my two brother cats. They seemed skittish and anxious at these hospitals and the workers seemed nervous and uncomfortable handling them. Today was my first visit to Prosper Trail Animal Hospital and it was a positive and fantastic experience for my two cats and for me too. Dr. Willingham took care of my cats. She was gentle with them and my cats weren't having any anxiety attacks. She made an accurate diagnosis and the treatment worked well. I truly feel that this animal hospital loves all of their patients and wants the very best for their furry friends. I can't recommend this animal hospital enough! read more

Honestly highly disappointed. I went to get my dogs rabies vaccines. Didn't give me or put on my dog the rabies pendant for proof. Wouldn't let me come inside. I honestly don't even know if they gave my dog the shot for rabies with me not even being there. Didn't get to meet the vet that was with my dog. Didn't get to talk to her/him at all. I can NOT say enough good things about Dr. Willingham at Prosper Trail Animal Hospital! We have a foster dog we are caring for while his owner is deployed overseas, and I am wholly convinced that Dr. Willingham saved his life this last week. Add to that- she is incredibly integrity driven when it comes to ordering tests - she did so judiciously and VERY clearly does not attempt to financially prey on a pet owner's need to be in her office. (Have had THAT happen too many times in the past)... she's just wonderful, and so is her staff. Bonus points for a cute and CLEAN office! :-) read more

Dr. Willingham was so good with my dog, Lily. She listened to all my concerns about my dog and helped to determine the best hygiene care and diet routine for her to be on to keep her healthy longer.
