There is still a large, noticeable vein that looks essentially the same as it did before the treatment. The size and appearance have not improved, which is very frustrating after paying a significant amount for the procedure. I recently called the office to follow up and see if the doctor could evaluate the vein and explain why it hasn't improved. I was told that if I wanted to come in for a follow-up appointment, I would have to pay an additional $150. I find this very disappointing and unfair. After spending $1,300 to have both legs treated, I would expect a follow-up evaluation to be included, especially when a significant vein remains unchanged after the procedure. I understand that results can vary, but I believe patients should be able to have their doctor assess the outcome and discuss possible next steps without being charged an additional fee simply for a follow-up. I hope the office will reconsider this policy and provide better follow-up care for patients who have already paid for treatment.

The previous day I was at the gym and that morning i was in the ER with a huge clot in my groin area and possibly a few minutes away from things going completely downhill. I was going through treatment for a so-called calf muscle tear by a so-called experienced orthopedic surgeon who completely misdiagnosed the situation. And on the evening of March 7th, I was at the gym when my leg swelled real bad, almost double the size. Long-story short I had to be rushed to the ER the next day where Dr. Herscu was the Vascular Surgeon on duty. I thank God every day since for having me there in his presence that day. Dr. Herscu is a very pleasing personality with incredible bedside manners. Doctors seldom teach you in terms that you can understand. Be assured that you will not only understand your situation better, but will also be heard completely. Most doctors like to see their watch and want to get done as soon as possible. Dr. Herscu is different in every sense. His skill and knowledge is shown not just in his office, but also in the OR. He is so confident with what needs to be done, what he is doing and what has been done. If Dr. Herscu is your doctor, take it from somebody who has been given a new life, you are in the best hands possible. Thank you Dr. Herscu. We are forever grateful!

Only one small concern is sometimes if you have to use both the SF Facility and the Daly City one (she has two locations depending on the procedure), ensure your insurance company does not confuse the location as this caused confusion for me, the staff and others (issues about being in network and then a denial, etc.). This was all cleared up. The procedures are all minimally invasive, short, and you are back on your feet almost instantly. The doctor speaks with you during the procedure, time flies and next thing you know it is over. Also the good thing she is a provider that takes PPO, HMO and most others so hope this helps in your search/this review.

The procedure/surgery was performed in early May and I have completed my 3 month blanking period and just saw him in follow-up. I couldn't be more pleased that I am lucky enough to have him as my electro-cardiologist. While I am sure there are many very capable electro-cardiologists out there, Dr. Kang is, by reputation and personal experience, a cut above. What he does is part science and part art - you either got it or you don't and he's got it. I am hopeful that my AFib is gone for good but I am grateful for the time and effort he put into my surgery and it's so far favorably outcome. He is also a good communicator and actually follows his patients. It certainly helps that he has such high caliber PAs at his group. Messages through the Sutter app are promptly responded to with the responses typically complete and informative. I have had office visits with just a PA and leave feeling like I saw a Cardiologist such is the caliber and training of the PA staff there. Even the medical assistants are top notch. Frankly, you can't go wrong with any of the cardiologists at this group right across the street from Summit Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland but they have a couple of real stars in Dr. Kang and my regular cardiologist, Dr. Johnson. Prior review: I was recently referred to Dr. Kang by my cardiologist for an ablation that is upcoming in May. I have only praise for his clear and forthcoming responses and guidance in my two pre-surgical office visits. He is engaging, empathetic and clearly an expert in his field - every one of my Doctors speaks glowingly of him as well. I feel fortunate to have managed to be one of his patients.

The place itself is a bit difficult to find…read morebecause it's inside of a larger building with lots of other doctor offices, it's the first door the left and the second window down next to a dentist office. The receptionist was super nice, I was able to get an appointment that very day and once I came in everyone was so nice. They quickly got me inside and the nurse was very nice and attentive to all my symptoms. The doctor is quite the funny guy he cracks jokes as soon as he walks in, which is awesome but also I feel like it stops him from listening to me and taking me seriously but at the same time was funny enough to make me feel comfortable. He sent me away with some antibiotics and some lab work. I didn't get my lab results back until about a week later (even tho I remember him saying I would get them 2 days later) and when I called nobody got back to me I had to call again and speak to the receptionist directly. Overall I would recommend this office the receptionist/nurse is great the doctors pretty good. No real complaints but also nothing crazy.
