First time, having authentic German cuisine and this place did not let me down. First the service when you walk in is very accommodating we got our table switched over before we even sat with no issues. We take a look at the menu and notice that the pricing even for being downtown was very fair and somewhat surprisingly cheap. Especially once the food came out, they could be charging 50% more and I'd still be happy. The mac & cheese is something I've never tasted before very different but comfortable at the same time I believe three different cheeses are in it. I don't really like waffles or pancakes, but my girlfriend told me to try the potato pancakes and they blew my mind with the chive, sour cream and applesauce sides.. Now we could've just ordered from the appetizer menu since everything seemed perfect from there, but the Brussel sprout appetizer was by far my favorite with poppyseed vinaigrette. We had plenty to take home, and I finished it off the next day still amazed at how well it was put together. I got the chicken schnitzel for my main and it is perfectly prepared and cooked. The breading was fantastic crunchy in every delicious way I even use the applesauce as a dip along with the mushroom sauce that it came with my girlfriend got the Rachel sandwich and she loved her choice as well. Overall, everything we ate from the appetizer menu to main course menu to even the french fries and dipping sauces was phenomenal and again I cannot stress it is enough. The price is unbelievable for this quality of food.

While walking around downtown, I decided to stop in a German restaurant as they offered outdoor seating. There was an indoor section as well if you preferred that. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and ensured I was taken care of throughout my time in the restaurant. My waitress was knowledgeable in the beer selection and able to help me decided on what beers to do in my flight. Since I was at a German restaurant, I went with the traditional bratwurst and I was not disappointed! It was flavorful and delicious. The only complaint I have is that the fries were too greasy for my liking. Sitting outside on a beautiful day was a highlight of the meal. Although the football game was on and different tables were talking, it was still overall quiet. Definitely recommend if you're in the Wilmington area!

Fish and chips. Really good. Hot. Be careful.

This is now a favorite of ours when in town. Affordable. Drinks are great. Prices are decent. Food was excellent. Service was top notch. The place can be a bit loud, but it manageable. They had a band playing out back. We chose to sit inside. I would recommend. The fish and chips was excellent. The pretzel's with the mustard they serve was addictive. They should sell the mustard in a jar. Not sure how they made it so good. We would return the next time we're in town.

Interesting little bar and restaurant. Tries to give German local bar. Schnitzel Patty Melt with pork chop was very interesting, it needed more mustard. Wasn't a fan of German potato salad. Service was ok. Looks like a great social spot with seating in outcove.

Beers on tap were great! Server had awesome recommendations and prices were totally reasonable!! The interior ambiance is great as well, with cool decor on every wall wherever you look.

Excellent restaurant all around! Our server was wonderful, the decor and ambiance was beautiful, and the food was good, traditional German menu items. The staff was attentive, helpful, and courteous. Great for lunch or dinner with friends! Located in Downtown Wilmington, it has lots of seating (both indoor and outdoor). Sanitation rating of 99.5!

Authentic German fare! We truly enjoyed our short stop at Prost. We sat inside at a large wooden table. Our server was friendly and prompt. We enjoyed beers for the table, and I enjoyed a flight- trying out several German beers. They have a good variety and solid prices. The best part was the German food. We ordered potato pancakes with traditional sour cream and applesauce. And we loved the spin on traditional spatzle with the Mac and cheese! So yummy and the noodles were just perfect. Overall, this is a wonderful biergarten everyone should try while in Wilmington!

    (2) solo pretzels and mac and cheese

Amazing experience. Was seated immediately and got drinks! Downed the hugo and sangria (sangria was my personal fav, amazing)! Did the happy hour specials of two solo pretzels with cheese sauce. This pretzels were the best i've ever eaten. Fresh and homemade amazing give me 20. Paired that with the shared mac and cheese, never had mac like that but wow. amazing

Ooooo man! Went to a burger joint down the road and was turned away because we had our dogs (we get it). So wandered around the corner and into Prost backyard. They let our dogs hangout and soon more people with dogs showed up. Everyone struck up chatting and it felt like a true bier hall! When I tell you I love German food I can't stress that enough! I was able to have a beer, bratwurst, knackwurst, cabbage and sauerkraut! All were awesome! The staff were attentive and brought drinks for everyone quickly. Love this place! Check it out!

Beautiful restaurant. Love the lights and plants and the outdoor seating area out back. The servers are very knowledgeable and kind. I went with family and didn't expect anything but a salad since I'm vegan, but I was so excited to be able to also get a beyond bratwurst. My family enjoyed their food and I was so happy to have a vegan option!

We haven't been in a while, and now they have a new beer garden! We were having so much fun, we decided to stay and eat dinner. There were 5 of us and we ordered only from the app menu and it was plenty and all delicious!! Also, we've never been served drinks so quickly!! We ordered two cocktails and three beers and got them almost immediately. Love the feel of the place.

The beat potato pancakes I have ever had.

What a fun modern take on a German Biergarten. Service was great, vibes were on point and the food was fantastic...oh and the beer selection was robust! The potato pancakes were probably the best I have ever had. Super fun place to come with friends or a date. Tip: in colder months make sure you have a reservation or you will sit outside. It is beautiful outside, just cold.

We were visiting Wilmington for the weekend and decided to check this place out because of the reviews and I'm glad we did! The fries were perfectly seasoned and had the perfect amount of crispiness. The inside is really cool - there's a ton of seating and it's really open. I had the kielbasa that came with a cheese sauce and it was so good. The only thing that fell a little flat was the service. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful at first but unfortunately we were left hanging for a while. We wanted extra sauce and we couldn't get it because our server never came back and someone else had to get us the check. Either way, I enjoyed the food and the vibe so I'd still recommend!

The restaurant opened back in 1985 and has been open ever since. The historic building and German theme add to the experience. The restaurant has seating on three levels, with a bar and some tables when you walk in, and two smaller dining areas on the other levels. The staff even dress in traditional attire. The architecture itself is incredible, showcasing the original 40-foot hand-carved pine beams from the 1860s cotton warehouse. Even the foundational stones holding up the restaurant space are repurposed from old ship ballast stones left behind at the 19th-century port by passing trade vessels! I chose to sit on the middle level because it was decorated with beautiful cuckoo clocks, which fondly reminded me of my own trip to Germany's Black Forest region and of visiting a clock factory there, where I saw the massive cuckoo clocks. For my meal, I ordered the pork schnitzel, which came served with warm German potato salad, sweet red cabbage, and a crisp cucumber salad. The pork schnitzel was cooked absolutely perfectly and tasted so good. I knew German potato salad was traditionally served warm, but I wasn't quite expecting the strong tang of the vinegar, though I thoroughly enjoyed the cabbage and cucumbers. To finish the meal, I debated between the German chocolate cake and the apple strudel. I ultimately chose the strudel for a more authentic experience, as German chocolate cake is actually an American creation rather than a traditional German one. The strudel arrived warm and was incredibly tasty!

We came yesterday and didn't want to wait but then came back today and got our group on the list and waited. Inside it's pub style, bar available and good music, but not much seating which explains the wait ;) We ordered the 109 Chestnut Chicken Sandwich, the Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich and the Reuben. Our waitress recommended not getting the onion rings app and to do it as sides to save money, and man, we had SO MANY leftovers. The pork sandwich is super good but so filling. I could only eat half with all the onion rings! The Reuben was absolutely delicious and I would 1000% get that again. The best thing on the menu in our opinion: the Cheese Steak Egg Rolls with chipotle mayo- OMG. We will DREAM about these!!! I haven't seen these talked about much- TRY THEM, they were literally mouth watering and I would have eaten them as an entree and not an app! Went here on Thursday February 12th 2026 with my parents, aunt, uncle and a few friends as a total party of 7. We did make a reservation online and highly recommend to do that. When we arrived, the parking lot was jam packed and we almost couldn't find a spot. However, we were luckily able to park in the back somewhere. This place is like a little house with german memoria on it. in the dining room, they also had an accordion player. When we walked in to the door, we waited about 6 -10 minutes for a host to greet us. When the host finally did, she sat us down right away. Then, we sit down and our server still didn't greet us until like 15 minutes or later. Now, i understand that they were busy- but acknowledge us, address us, take a moment to start us with waters. Although this gave us time to look over the menu if we didn't know what we wanted. Finally the waitress comes over and gets us 7 waters, and 6 beers. We also put in an order of Bratwurst, Bauernwurst, as well as the pretzel appetizer. Appetizers came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed the Bauernwurst, which i think is the one that tasted like hot dogs, as well as the pretzel. The pretzel was big and we did end up sharing it with the whole table. For Entrees, I ordered the chicken Jager with mushrooms and gravy with a side of german potato salad and string beans. The String beans were the vegetable of the day. Oh, and the waitress did a good job with telling us the specials and communicating once everything calmed down. Food seemed to take long to come out, but when it finally did, I enjoyed my Chicken Jager. Only issue is that some others in my party said that their sides/food was cold- even after warming it up a bit- which the waitress did try to fix at least. Maybe the heat lamp is broken, or the food isn't directly under it, I don't know but this should be improved upon. We were offered dessert but skipped it. We did separate checks for our party- which the waitress accomodated. Paid via credit card and left a cash tip. May be back again!
