Apple Strudel
Jake O.

First, I went to get a parking ticket before entering the lot. When you walk up to the restaurant, it already gives you an ambience of Germany and when you walk in, even more so! The decor is very nice. I was seated with my table in the upstairs area. Our waitress came dressed in the traditional German Dirndl, which was cute! She had a great attitude and a big smile. She took our orders and brought us bread to start. The bread was crispy and warm; I wanted another piece! Then she brought us our drinks. One of us got this beer which was good! Then, we received our meals; wow is all I can say. I got the Wurst Platter which sports Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Kielbasa, German potato salad, some vegetables. They gave me a side of mustard and I usually love condiments on everything but it was so delicious, it didn't need mustard. In fact, it would've taken away from the meal, that's how well seasoned it was. Lastly, we got dessert. I ordered the Apple Strudel and the bread was flaky, crisp, and sweet. It was a great way to end the night! Overall, if you are looking for good German food in Wilmington, you just found your place!

I was excited to come try this restaurant because I love German food. The restaurant is very old and small rooms. I ordered Rouladen that came with a dumpling and sauekraut. The dumpling was doughy and the Rouladen was just ok. We also had the potato pancakes that were not crispy at all. Husband had the schnitzel which he also said was just ok, hes had better. He did like the german potato salad. The dessert were the best of the entire dinner. Service was just ok. I would not go back

The recent reviews are so accurate. It was seriously lacking in every department. Their hours are incredibly limited and they often stop seating well before their close. Service is poor and barely greeted. Food was so bad. My boyfriend's family is from Germany so they were certainly disappointed. Bland bland bland. Our server rarely checked on us and we never had water. Not going back

Visited here for lunch. Lots of German decor, including wait staff uniforms. Nice, attentive waitress. Shared the potato cakes served with sour cream and applesauce. They were okay. Hubby had the schnitzel sandwich and I had the red Reuben. Both dishes came with German potato salad. Both meals had large portions and were very good.

Oh my German heart was so happy to find this place! We had a light lunch here to hold us over to a big dinner. Hubby had a bratwurst platter and I had 1/2 sandwich combo (Turkey Reuben). Very good on both counts! Can't wait to go back for a more!

Overall a great place to stop for authentic German fair ! We went on veterans day weekend so was busy and they were out of German beer and German chocolate cake but what we did have was the best husband sad he'd ever had! Rueben and Polska kielbasa German potato salad.

Great hospitality and ambience, as well as good German food. Went as a large family/group and we were well accommodated and our server was fantastic. The wurst plate was a hit, as well as the veal schnitzel. Really enjoyed how thin and crispy the veal was and loved the potato salad. The hours are not as accommodating as most restaurants and you should plan before going but that was a minor issue for our experience. Definitely worth trying and look forward to going again!

Listen up! This little place is AMAZING! I only had the soup/sandwich combo and it was out of this world good. But, you MUST try the German butter cake! Holy smokes that is good stuff. In fact, you might even want to have dessert before your meal.

We came yesterday and didn't want to wait but then came back today and got our group on the list and waited. Note that the parking close by is expensive and they won't seat you if your whole party isn't there within 5 minutes of texting that your table is ready. So yep- plan to wait and sit around. Inside it's pub style, bar available and good music, but not much seating which explains the wait ;) We ordered the 109 Chestnut Chicken Sandwich, the Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich and the Reuben. Our waitress recommended not getting the onion rings app and to do it as sides to save money, and man, we had SO MANY leftovers. The pork sandwich is super good but so filling. I could only eat half with all the onion rings! The Reuben was absolutely delicious and I would 1000% get that again. The best thing on the menu in our opinion: the Cheese Steak Egg Rolls with chipotle mayo- OMG. We will DREAM about these!!! I haven't seen these talked about much- TRY THEM, they were literally mouth watering and I would have eaten them as an entree and not an app! Overall we would come back again, just be prepared to wait forever for a table and you won't be disappointed!

Cheese Steak Egg Rolls served w/chipotle ranch......Amazing!!!! Best we have ever had. 2. 109 Chestnut Chicken Sandwich had an amazing balance of ingredients that would make your mouth water. Very good and the fries as well. 3. Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich was very bland and had an excessive amount of spinach. Even the Au Jus couldn't rescue this sandwich. 4. The famous onion rings. Well they must of ran out of seasoning because these were more flour than flavor. Very doughy with no spices. Not worth the $9 * The alcohol mix drinks are pretty good. Definitely taste the flavor of each. Will give you a good kick.

Went here on Thursday February 12th 2026 with my parents, aunt, uncle and a few friends as a total party of 7. We did make a reservation online and highly recommend to do that. When we arrived, the parking lot was jam packed and we almost couldn't find a spot. However, we were luckily able to park in the back somewhere. This place is like a little house with german memoria on it. in the dining room, they also had an accordion player. When we walked in to the door, we waited about 6 -10 minutes for a host to greet us. When the host finally did, she sat us down right away. Then, we sit down and our server still didn't greet us until like 15 minutes or later. Now, i understand that they were busy- but acknowledge us, address us, take a moment to start us with waters. Although this gave us time to look over the menu if we didn't know what we wanted. Finally the waitress comes over and gets us 7 waters, and 6 beers. We also put in an order of Bratwurst, Bauernwurst, as well as the pretzel appetizer. Appetizers came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed the Bauernwurst, which i think is the one that tasted like hot dogs, as well as the pretzel. The pretzel was big and we did end up sharing it with the whole table. For Entrees, I ordered the chicken Jager with mushrooms and gravy with a side of german potato salad and string beans. The String beans were the vegetable of the day. Oh, and the waitress did a good job with telling us the specials and communicating once everything calmed down. Food seemed to take long to come out, but when it finally did, I enjoyed my Chicken Jager. Only issue is that some others in my party said that their sides/food was cold- even after warming it up a bit- which the waitress did try to fix at least. Maybe the heat lamp is broken, or the food isn't directly under it, I don't know but this should be improved upon. We were offered dessert but skipped it. We did separate checks for our party- which the waitress accomodated. Paid via credit card and left a cash tip. May be back again!

I was honestly very surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. The inside of this quaint little restaurant has a strong German feel. The staff are dressed traditionally, which makes the whole place feel charming and authentic. It is honestly adorable. I would love to return when they have live music to enjoy the full experience. We started with the potato pancakes and the sausage platter, and both were excellent. Every sausage on the platter was seasoned so well that I did not even need mustard. I ate each one exactly as it was served, and the flavor was fantastic. The pretzels that came with the platter were also very good. The potato pancakes were phenomenal. I easily could have eaten more, but I wanted to save room for my entrée. For my meal, I ordered the veal schnitzel with spaetzle and potato salad, along with mushroom gravy. The veal was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. I loved it so much that I want to try making it at home. The spaetzle was fantastic and something completely new for me. The mushroom gravy really brought everything together and made the dish feel complete. The potato salad was just average, but everything else was outstanding. My boyfriend ordered the pork schnitzel with spaetzle and really enjoyed his meal as well. Between the music, the cozy atmosphere, and the wonderful food, the entire experience was warm and memorable. This was such a great introduction to German cuisine, and I would definitely return.

We ordered a couple of the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwiches and some fries, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best schnitzel I've ever had. The sandwich was huge--definitely didn't skimp on the portions--and the breading was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Also, a huge shoutout for the small details: the bottled Diet Cokes were ice cold. Most of the time at these outdoor festivals, you're lucky to get a 'cool' drink, but these were refreshing and perfect for a day out in the sun. If you missed COV here in Little River you can catch up with them at the Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival on April 10-12 "

I first visited about five years ago and remembered it immediately when we were back in Myrtle Beach. This time confirmed it wasn't nostalgia talking. The food is still outstanding.
