We stopped for lunch in Reno at this interesting German inspired place. We enjoyed a beer sampler of different German beers, and we both ordered different sausage plates, which were delicious. The buns were a little lacking (like they were like cut in half), but then the sausage is what is important in the end, and they were delicious. The place had German music playing and actually made you feel like you might be visiting some obscure German location. The beer cheese was good, but served cold which was different. This place has been on my list for a long time and I'm so glad I finally made it here! It is located in a strip mall near the Atlantis. They do have a small outdoor patio for warmer months, but you are by the surrounding businesses and the parking lot. The interior is decorated with flags, Oktoberfest posters, and other German decor. Plenty of tables with no wait on a Friday night. I got a 1/2 liter of beer which was plenty for me, but my husband and friend each got 1 liter and were able to finish it by the time we were done eating! The service was great, our waitress even spoke German. She was a good sport putting up with my friend who was attempting to speak German that he learned back in high school. Our waitress checked on us throughout the dining experience and our food came out pretty quickly. The 3 of us split the pretzel, prost currywurst (comes with no bun), prost onion brat (comes with bun), and the schnitzel platter. The pretzel came with 3 different dipping sauces: mustard, beer cheese, and bacon jam--all were so good with the pretzel that it was hard to choose a favorite! The prost onion brat had such great flavors on it and was something I would definitely order again. The star of the meal for us was the schnitzel! It was perfectly breaded and fried, had great flavor, and was a pretty big serving size. It was served with tots that were hot and crispy. This was our first time eating at Prost, and we were looking for a causal place to grab and drink and a bite to eat. We wanted to try out a pretzel but we were informed they were out. Instead, We went with the Prost style Tater Tots. The Tots were cooked perfectly, crispy and nicely salted. The Beer Cheese was tasty but different than what we expected. We thought it was going to be warm, but instead it was more like a sauce with Italian seasoning mixed in. Not a knock, and next time we might get two orders. The Prost Onion Brat was really tasty, and it's served with a pickle which compliments the sweeter sauce on the brat. The Aperol Zitrone was balanced and well made, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall, nice little spot for inside and outside seating with live music depending on the night. read more

Great place to watch a game, meet with friends, and enjoy some great food! Went during COVID and they were all mask compliant. Only one heads up, the brats do not have any non beef option (according to the waiter), so if you can't eat beef you can really only have the schnitzel sandwich for a main (the sandwich is great) but you may be disappointed if you have that dietary restriction. I should start this out by saying I'm not generally the type to go out of my way to leave reviews for a restaurant. Prost is an exceptional restaurant and deserves to be shared with all of your closest friends! I've gotten to the point where I stop in once or twice a week and the service and food are exceptional! I personally love the Onion Bratwurst followed up with a Hefe Dunkel, but I've tried a large portion of their menu and you really can't go wrong. It's a rare weekday off for both my husband and I and we decided to try someplace we'd never been. I perused Yelp and saw that Prost was right next to where we need to run errands and we both love German food. The atmosphere is German themed without being garish and the front patio with traditional biergarten tables was exactly where I wanted to sit on this most beautiful last day of September. We peaked inside, which I was surprised to see has ample seating because it looks small, to see if we needed to be seated, but a waiter let us know it was open to wherever we would like. We grabbed a seat and reviewed all of the beer options, which are all German (no American stuff here), and I asked if they had a Radler, which they have both German style, Hefeweizen and lemon lime soda, or American style, Lager and grapefruit juice. I went with German style and loved that I could get a liter. For lunch we order a pretzel with the Trinity of dipping, hot beer cheese, mustard, and bacon jam. The pretzel was a great size and hot. I went with the Schnitzel platter since my husband was getting a Käsekrainer wurst in a bun. The combination of crispy pork and salty fries was so satisfying with sips of cold, refreshing beer in between. And my husband's wurst had a delicate cheese integrated in the sausage and the combination with sweet mustard and mayo made a flavor smorgasbord. He enjoyed it so much that he ordered a second one. Prost is absolutely going to be a spot we visit again soon, bringing friends and family along for the experience. read more

My husband found this place and suggested we take my dad here when he came to visit. My dad is a beer and brats lover. There were six in our party so we started with the hot pretzel. The menu price gave us sticker shock but the pretzel was big enough for all of us to share, it was hot and crispy, and much better than what we sampled in Milwaukee earlier this summer. My husband was hoping to find potato pancakes, but you have Tots and Tots are the best! The schnitzel was yummy! The food was basically OK, but the servers seemed confused, missed the side dishes with some of our dishes and didn't tell us when we ordered that the kitchen was "backed up" and wouldn't be starting new orders for awhile. We ended up being served in two stages about 25 minutes apart. To be fair, we were a big party, 14 people, but they weren't crowded at 4:30 p.m. and we'd called ahead to make sure they could handle us. Food was a mixed bag. The people who had sausages praised them, but my wienerschnitzel was the equivalent of a diner chicken-fried steak minus the gravy, served plain on a cracked cutting board with 12 or 15 tater tots. No garnish, no mustard, no roll. And no sauerkraut, which I'd ordered as a side and never got even after asking twice more. When three people in our group ordered salads, the server said only two could have them--they were "out of salad." Early on a Saturday evening? Irritatingly, too, EVERYTHING on the menu, even condiments, apparently has to be ordered separately and for a fee. A spot of mustard would have complemented my schnitzel, but it was listed on the menu at $1 and I'll be damned. read more

My girls and I have dinner monthly and like to support local. My nail shop is right next door and it looked like a fun place and it turned out I was right! We sat outside since it was shady and there was a little breeze. Our server was great at explaining things since my girls weren't really familiar with brats and schnitzel. The food: we got the sausage platter & the pretzel/cheese & of course some liter beers! The food was fresh && probably the best sausages I've ever had! The pretzel was definitely not one of the ones they just throw in the warmer, it was tasty!! It's spacious inside and I LOVE the garage door they have!
