Classic Wetzel Pretzel w/ Cheddar Cheese

So I haven't been to Meadowood Mall in 10+ years but I had to go there for a specific store to get a gift for a friend. The store happens to be across from the food court and I couldn't help but notice Wetzel's Pretzel is in the same exact spot as I remembered when I was a kid. Thinking about that made me nostalgic and I decided to get a pretzel. I went with the classic Wetzel Pretzel brushed with butter and topped with salt (which is optional) and cheddar cheese for dipping sauce. It was warm and crisp, yet still soft. The cost was $5.90 something, basically $6 bucks. I wasn't disappointed at all and it was a great afternoon snack before dinner.

Every time I go to the mall, I make sure to get either my mini pretzels with caramel dip and or my pizza bits. Though it's just a little cup but it'll make you full in one seating. Burp!

Every Christmas Eve my sister and I go to the mall for a pretzel and finish up our gift shopping. Today we went in for a pretzel to keep up our tradition and I must say it was one of the best pretzels I had in a long time. The pretzels were nice and warm and soft. (Nothing worse than getting a hard pretzel at a pretzel shop) The only thing that I noticed was different is they used to have what they called the combo where you got a pretzel, choice of sauce to dip in, and a drink. Now you buy the pretzel and each sauce is an additional 1.19 and the drink is also separate. Most pretzel places I have been to usually give the first sauce free with the pretzel. The young boys working the counter were friendly enough without going over board. The shop looked clean so I will defiantly be willing to eat here again in the future.

The food is hard and gross and the service is slow as hell. I waited ten minutes for hard old pretzel bites.

Our server was friendly and attentive. To drink we had a Hofbraü beer and a glass of bubbles. They both were excellent and exactly as we expected. At the end of the meal I had a white chocolate espresso martini. I was disappointed with the martini. This tasted flavorless like water and lacked any essence of espresso martini. To eat we did the cheese plate. We added beer cheese to our order for the pretzel. Holy cow! This cheese board was so large, not to mention delicious! The cheeses and meats were diverse and flavorful. The plate also came with artichoke hearts and pickles which provided a refreshing acidity to the plate. The pretzel was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and lightly salted. I am very picky about pretzels (to the point where I don't eat them) and this was my favorite! This was the most delicious pretzel I have ever ate. The cheese plate also came with a delicious stone ground mustard, what seemed to be a lingonberry jam, and the beer cheese we added. The lingonberry jam which was out of this world and the beer cheese was complex and flavorful. I have my eye on a couple of the pizzas so I definitely will be back soon for another meal (and pretzel).

You absolutely deserve all the rest, relaxation, and beautiful time with your family that will come with your retirement. We thank you for everything you've shared with our community and know that your legacy lives on with us and you will never be forgotten. Seven years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Fausto, Glenda, and Marlon Salazar, the father, daughter, and son behind this incredible local business, and my life has not been the same since. Fausto's life story is one of the most heartbreaking and inspiring I've heard to date. It's one of complete rebirth and triumph over total darkness, driven by his love for and dedication to his family, his dream of providing a better life for them, and an unrelenting determination to see it become reality. My perspective on life changed drastically after hearing it directly from him so many years ago and I encourage you to hear it from him via YelpReno on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/reel/CVElKYwAaFY/). I will miss la roscas, conchas, champurrados, campechanas y Guatemalan "quesadilla" (cake), y los tamleños, caldo de gallina, caldo de res y todos los otros especialidades de la cocina auténtico de Fausto. But most of all I will miss seeing Fausto's genuine smile and love for the extended family and community he built around himself, this bakery, and his breads. So much connection happened over coffee here. It was familiar yet felt like you were somewhere brand new all at once. This was a special place that I will always remember. If you have a chance, visit before Wednesday 2/29. Buy extra and pop it in the freezer because you'll want more once it's all gone. Adios mi amigo! Gracias por todo.
