You can conveniently apply for a loan through the practice. The staff doesn't skip a beat preparing the agreement for a signature. My initial consultation lasted just short of five hours and was an exhausting information overload. By the time I walked out, my head was spinning...I just wanted to go home. For me, this procedure is a necessity...not something I would ever elect to have done. It amazes me that so many people seem to be wasting exorbitant amounts of money and take pride in having neon-white, unnaturally straight, plastic teeth and gums. Well, not me. I recently visited Prosthodontics of Texas for an annual exam and cleaning on my full upper and lower implants, after my original oral surgeon (Advanced Dental Implant Center of Austin) closed without making my dental history available or referring me to a reliable Prosthodontist. Needless to say, this situation caused me a lot of anxiety, but Dr. Snober and his team (especially Evalesthy) were able to keep me calm and take care of all my dental needs. The only reason they get one star is the fact that Cindy did her best to ease the tension when it became clear that Dr. Snober truly didn't care that he created a dismal and life-altering situation for me. I paid for full dentures with Dr. Snober, expecting professional care and functional results. Unfortunately, my experience over the five-month process was extremely disappointing. Multiple errors were made throughout the process, resulting in ongoing pain and discomfort. The upper denture never fit properly, despite numerous adjustments and relines. During the final visit and reline, I was left with a NON-FUNCTIONAL upper denture that significantly diminishes my quality of life. My concerns about the poor fit and the impact on my daily life were dismissed. Due to the non-functional upper denture, I now speak with a lisp, can no longer pronounce certain words without dislodging the denture and must speak slowly so I can concentrate on attempting to speak without the upper denture flying out of my mouth. I've lost the ability to eat anything that requires chewing without significant difficulty and pain. The only solution offered to me is to get four implants and give them MORE money. They couldn't deliver a functional, quality product for $27,000, but if I throw them another $15,000-$20,000 they might be able to restore some of the dignity they stripped away from me. Overall, the experience was frustrating, painful, and disappointing, and I would caution anyone considering full dentures here to carefully weigh their options. You may come through it brilliantly. Or you may experience the same nightmare I have had to endure. read more

Since I moved to Texas, we had not selected a new prosthodontist for my mom. Unfortunately, we needed a repair in a hurry, and found Prosthodontics of Texas through Yelp. I was pleased to find out they would be able to get mom in the next day. Arriving at the office we checked in promptly and were taken back to the exam room. Only good things to say about Dr. Bashar Snober and the entire staff. I had an old tooth implant break, leaving a piece of the post buried in the implant. Specialists sent me to Dr. Bashar to recover it, though they warned me that chances were slim. Dr Bashar not only recovered the broken post, but did so 100% pain free, which I have never said about any invasive dental encounter ever. I also appreciated the up-front presentation of the detailed steps and costs needed to replace the tooth. Dr. Bashar Snober is extremely good at his craft. He did a full implant denture for me recently. He is backed up by a great front desk, Amanda and Irene, and has a wizard in his (in office) lab, Rick. His entire staff is incredibly solid and his pricing is competitive. I know more about dentistry than I care to, from decades of dental issues and sub par treatment. Dr. Snober knew immediately how to achieve the results I wanted by actually changing the front abutments on my implants. He made a complicated procedure seem simple, all the while being friendly and caring. He answered all of my very direct questions whenever I emailed or called. Highly recommend Dr. Snober! A year ago (October 2019) I began the process of a tooth extraction and implant surgery for one of my teeth that was damaged when I was younger. I had no idea where to go as I was new to the South Austin area at the time. I ended up at the Prosthodontics of Texas office via referral from my Oral Surgeon who recommended Dr. Snober to handle my temporary (flipper) and final permanent crown. Dr. Snober and his entire team were incredible throughout the whole process. Hopefully I will never have to have another tooth replaced lol but if I do I'm going to Dr. Snober! I have found it very convenient that Prosthodontics of Texas is a "one stop shop" for both speciality and regular dental care. I have recently started using them for my annual teeth cleaning's. I have had implants for many many years but I have struggled to find a dentist that really knew what he was doing. I was recently referred to Dr Snober and have never looked back. Dr Snober not only knows his business but he is patient and more than willing to explain things. This has to be THE best dental office I have ever been to. It's usually a chore for me to go to the dentist, but this experience changed it all. As soon as I came in, I was greeted by the front desk (Amanda and Irene) with great big smiles behind their masks, and the wait time was just a few minutes. Dr Snober is impeccable. I shattered my jaw, knocked out my teeth and I was beyond embarrassed to speak to anyone, much less smile. Bashar Snober did a diagnostic for me, studying my uneven bite on the sides and then coming up with a simpler plan than I'd imagined, to replace 6 crowns in two appointments. The new crowns are the right length on both sides and my chewing is even again. This is my second review for Texas Prosthodontics. The first one was five stars but after returning for a follow up for my dentures I was terribly disappointed. The dentist I saw decided he no longer was willing to take my insurance. Everything we discussed he was no longer willing to honor. A lot of the work he did I did not file with my insurance because he told me that they would only pay once and I would have to get new dentures after my gums receded. Well when I went back he wanted nothing to do with me or my insurance. If you have the money to pay without using insurance they are fine.Be prepared for a VERY large bill. They are not cheap. I have a problem when someone does not stand behind there word. I even discussed what insurance they took before having the work done as to make sure I choose the right one. The dentist I saw was extremely nice but did not stand behind his word. Be cautious that what they say they will do and what they will actually do-are the same. read more

If you're skeptical and inquisitive by nature, and insist on understanding every technical detail and making informed medical decisions, then you will love working with Dr. Pharr. He spends the time to go into every detail and make sure that you feel comfortable with the decisions that you're making. I never felt rushed, I never felt pressured, and I never felt like he was tired of answering my questions. When it comes time to get work done, he preps you before every step so you know what to expect. Also, you can tell he is continually thinking about how to maximize patient comfort and peace of mind. For instance, when I went in for my crown prep work, I watched Netflix movies on a TV that he had mounted above me. He even had a bluetooth headset so I could listen to the movie in stereo and completely tune out the work they were doing. He thought of everything. Then on my followup visit he incorporated a new breathing technique he learned the week before, that made administering the anesthetic even less stressful and painful than before. The discomfort of a cracked tooth led to my first visit to Prosthodontics of Texas. Now my tooth has a great restoration and I got to experience an extraordinary dental practice ! The office is beautiful with big glass windows in every room that look out to a wooded area. Everyone in the office was so friendly, and Dr Pharr took the time to explain my treatment options and let me make my own choice. Throughout the procedure, he continued to explain what he was doing and make sure I was comfortable during each step. I got so comfortable and involved in the hilarious Parks and Rec episode they had (my choice and on headphones) on the overhead TV, I had to try and control my laughter so I wouldn't disturb their work in my mouth! Everything went well in the appointment, and now my tooth is back feeling normal again. I will definitely return to this office for the friendly and professional service I received. read more

Dr. Pharr of Proshodonics of Texas is amazing! I have had dentures since I was 42 due to gum problems. I had to use Fixodent denture adhesive about every two hours to make sure my dentures were secure and I could eat with them. It did not make a difference if I had new dentures or not I always had to use a denture adhesive. I am now 61 and my life with many tubes of Fixodent in my purse have finally ended! When I decided to get implants to help with the stability of my dentures I went to an oral surgeon they were going to put in the implants and make the dentures. My nephew, a general practice dentist in the Air Force, said you really should go to a prosthodontist. I am very happy I did, and I went to Dr. Whit Pharr. He explained everything to me, made computer guided templates to be used by the oral surgeon for exact placement of the implant. He used a very innovative type of denture with the implants that has the same stability as my own teeth. I am so excited to have found Dr. Pharr. It truly changed my life! I learned a prosthodontist can make a big difference in the outcome. They work with the oral surgeon. I could tell from the beginning Dr. Pharr has a passion for his work, which means a better outcome for me! He has a great chairside manner. He cares about his patients and his work. I don't think you could find a better prosthodontist. I believe that so much I drive from San Antonio to Austin just to have him do all my annual checks. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Whit Pharr he is an excellent choice. read more
