Dr. Goehring made several thousand dollars off my family by insisting my special needs daughter be sedated for her cleaning even though I told him she would be fine without it. He strong armed me, insisting it was necessary even though he never saw her before. Cost was about $350 per 15 minutes for the sedation alone. He is only out to make money and does not give a s--- about his patients. He was so rough with me putting on my crown, I had excruciating pain in my jaw for about a month afterwards. It caused the worst flare up of my TMJ that I have ever had. While he was wrenching my jaw, I jerked and he yelled at me, telling me if I was not perfectly still, he would not be able to continue. Worst dentist I have ever seen. Greedy and does not care!! read more

I'm a disabled woman on a limited budget. I've recently stopped trusting this place after going for a couple of years. Last time I went, I was told I'd need veneers, and they would cost me half of my year's rent. Yeah, no, another dentist later said all I need is a few fillings, and the cost would be many thousands of dollars less. By the way, when I was in that last time, Dr. Goehring bad-mouthed a former dentist who had recently stopped working there. Classy, Dr. G. Real classy. Sitting in office and the staff acts like you are invisible. Been 40 min and I've ask why the delay twice. Receptionist acts as if I'm bothering her and states the doctor is on the phone with another doctor. That is the excuse for treating customers badly. I've been a patient at Goehring Dental for about 3 years now and moving from out of state I was stressed about finding a good dentist in Austin but after much research I found Dr. Goehring and luckily I've been extremely happy and satisfied coming here. I am usually nervous about going to the dentist but coming here has made me have less anxiety and so far my experience here has been positive and my visits always go smooth. I've been seen by both Dr. Goehring and Dr. Kessler, both doctors are amazing. Sabrina is the best! She always makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. It took a year to find a Dentist who did conscious sedation-- my mother is very fearful of pain( dental). After spending about $1000 on consulting fees to 2 Different doctors who specialize in oral surgery-- they would only offer gas and oral injections-- finally I was given the name of Dr. Goehring-- the procedure was done today in 1hour-- no pain-- thank you-- would definitely recommend. I have been holding out on Yelping my dentist because I do not want competition when I need an appointment ASAP! This is possibly the coolest dentist in Austin. Everyone employed here is over the top friendly and from overheard conversations all the employees and dentist hangout outside of work hours. I also work with people I like to hangout with outside work hours and I think that says a lot... They play great classic and alt rock tunes and my room that I have got every time has Kurt Cobain framed on the wall and today the soccer game was playing on the flat screen! Back in 08 I was going here to see Laurie Bradley who gave me high blood pressure every visit:) Yes I had a crush on my dentist.... Laurie is no longer at Goehring:( But, Dennis is just as friendly and good or better at what he does!!!!! Dennis talked a lot while working on my teeth with his employees and there is nothing I do not like about him and his interests! Dennis injected 4 shots in my gums with no pain - he did 2 build ups for crowns and a huge filling in less than an hour!!!! He said I would need pain meds??? My mouth is pain free after all the shots and drilling!!!! read more

For years I was hopping around from dentist to dentist trying to find one that suited my needs. I finally found that with Dr. Goehring's office! My first visit was a wonderful one. I arrived and the front desk lady was such a sweetheart! She was so kind hearted and helped me get all the paperwork filled out. There was hardly any wait and when I was called to the back, more friendly staff waiting! I had to get a few fill-ins and Dr. Goehring treated me great! I felt no pain at all and they even allowed me to plug in headphones and listen to music. Before I knew it, Dr. Goehring was finished! It was one of the best dental procedures I've received. Dr. Laurie Bradley, D.D.S. is who my softball friend (and employee) Leslie K. recommended me to see. Dr. Bradley was very thorough during the examination and noticed that I had a missing filling. No more old school metal thingies, this one is now white, you can't even tell I have a new filling!! Plus when I went back for my 2nd cleaning after 6 months, she told me again I have wonderful teeth, yea!! The front office staff is very helpful and friendly and were very patient with my insurance (Dell). I highly recommend this South Austin office for your dental needs. After being either barely or crankily attended to by aging, tired and pompous dentists my whole life, I had resigned myself to the condition of my teeth in my forties. I needed some fillings, and when my regular dentist refused to bump my appointment up a few days because I was losing my insurance coverage, Dr. Goehring took me in and worked during lunch on a Friday to take care of me (kind of unheard of for dentists IMO). Here is why I'm writing this review--He fixed my teeth beyond belief!! My teeth are actually pretty good naturally, they just needed some TLC other dentists had not offered apparently, and Dr. Goehring transformed my smile into one I am now really proud of! I was not expecting that at all-I was only hoping for the old fillings to be repaired, but he worked magic I did not think was possible! Dr. Goehring has been my dentist for years. About a year ago I incurred severe dental trauma in an accident in which I was in danger of losing three teeth. Against the odds and because of the quick and efficacious response and support from the team at Goehring Dental, my teeth were saved. I did not have to endure the process or expense of implants. I am so happy about my smile now! Dennis Goehring did a wonderful job with my root canal, temporary crown, and veneers. Although it was a 3-hour long appt., he was right. I walked out of there with a beautiful set of temporaries and am now waiting for my permanent veneers. It wasn't easy to say the least. He found more decay than expected on my root canal tooth, but made it work with a post. I also got my gums cleaned during the process. I do recommend listening to music throughout - I tried to listen to a movie but the commercials were louder than the drill going into my mouth! Love this office and so glad I made the leap. I am a caregiver for my sister and she had a problem on her first visit and she's got Patika on her face. I had questions and concerns . Told his nurse and the nurse goes tells him and I could not explain my situation to him she had told him the situation. He came at me with aggression he belittled me did not let me resolve or try to discuss my concerns about the whole matter. I was treated unfairly unprofessional and he threw me out in front of his whole staff and people in the office. For him to be rude and confrontational real fast so early in the morning has a lot to say about a person. That cares for disabled people says a lot . I care for my sister and that all I wanted to do was to talk about my concerns. read more

Their website says in bold letters "Most Insurance Accepted" This is a false advertisement, the office staff said they will file, they are not contracted with any Insurance Company because he has 15 years experience and will not work for what the insurance will pay. Hmm, I thought Dr's were here to help patients. I told the staff member that answered that this is a lose/lose situation for the Dr and the patients as I pay a lot of money for my excellent benefits with no copay, so why not drive the extra mile and go back to my wonderful dentist, I moved , my dentist did not.
