Amazing, quality service at a reasonable price!! I brought my computer into protech after my computer suddenly decided not to boot up. I had spent the entire day attempting to fix it, only to give up. Within 20 minutes, the owner had figured out the problem and fixed it! He also took the time to re-arrange some parts that had been incorrectly installed (by the losers at Fry's electronics), and show me how to install a new hard drive to replace the faulty one that had caused the issues. I am not kidding when I say I downloaded the yelp app and made an account just so I could leave this specific review. The other week I dropped a vacuum cleaner on my laptop and completely ruined the screen (don't ask me how) so I first went to Best Buy for their geek squad. The next day I went to Protech to see if I could get a different ballpark price of a screen replacement. Joey gave me a price that was 3x less expensive than Best Buy's and whereas it would've taken 4-6 weeks to get it fixed from Best Buy, it only took Joey 5 DAYS to fix it. My experience with ProTech has been more than great and Joey was an incredibly helpful, genuine guy. Power button on my HP all-in-one computer quit working. Could not turn on the computer. Best Buy wanted to send the computer to their computer repair center which is in Kentucky. Min. two to three weeks and unknown costs. Saw Protech's great reviews on Yelp, called the shop and was told to bring it in, they could fix it. They looked at it right away and about an hour and half later, left the shop with a new power-on button and at a most reasonable costs. Happy ending to a frustrating problem. My laptop was basically a complete wreck. Broken hinges, broken back cover, broken AC adapter. Was fixed in 2 weeks, and the owner explained to me that the wait was due to having to order several parts from several different places, unsurprisingly. I was devastated when my computer wouldn't reboot after a power outage. Luckily I found Protech in the phone book. They were close by so I took the computer in, fully expecting to be without it for several days. This was on a Thursday afternoon. Joey promised to call the next day and hopefully have it ready for pick up some time Saturday. When I got home, I realized I hadn't completed my income taxes and I was going to be running it pretty close if I didn't get the computer back ASAP. I called Joey and he told me he had already pretty much determined the hard drive was bad. I explained my plight and he said he would see what he could do. He needed to procure a new drive, install it, and reload my Windows system. Joey called the next (Friday) morning around 9:30 and said the computer was ready for pickup. I was so happy! I raced down to pick it up. He went over everything with him and the total was less than the original estimate, which was very fair. I never doubted Joey knew what he was doing, I felt like my machine was in good hands from the beginning. The 'over and above' service to get my computer back quickly as well as Joey's friendliness and good nature were icing on the cake. I wouldn't hesitate to use Protech again. read more

Now, when I needed someone to "save" my computer from viruses, pop-ups, and other unwanted junk, I turned to YELP again. I was NOT disappointed with the results. Joey is awesome! Our Dell desktop shorted out and wouldn't power back on. My husband was ready to get another computer, but I found Protech on Yelp and saw he offered free diagnostics. I brought the computer in and within 5 minutes he determined it was just the power supply that had shorted and the computer was fine. He was able to fix it while I went to a doctor appointment-within 2 hours and was very reasonable in his cost. Less than $100! Way cheaper than a new desktop! Besides this, he is extremely friendly, helpful, and does not act condescending as some computer people do. He explains things easily and clearly. I have been going to Protech for a number of years and have always received excellent service from the business owner, Joey. Most recently, my whole system was hacked and I was obviously very worried about all my financial info the hackers might have gotten. I took the PC in and got immediate help, Joey did a full PC scan, reviewed all my settings, and removed a logon exe the hackers had used. I went in for password recovery on a laptop. Joey worked on it for a good 20 minutes because the thing was so slow. He would not accept payment yet he did the job well and recovered the password as well as spending his time doing so. That is what is called five star service and caring about the customer first. I have a IMac with High Sierra operating system. The Chrome browser was hijacked by a malware called "chumsearch" which forced the browser to use it as the opening home page and directed all search requests to a bogus help site looking to download a cure once you gave them a credit card. This home page could not be changed despite spending hours of my own time, two plus hours of Apple assistance by phone and on line, and reading multiple similar complaints on Apple user sites with the same issue left unresolved. I was surprised when the best advise from Apple after all this time was to contact Google and ask their advise on how to remove it..... Joey, at Protech, was then contacted and asked me to bring in the computer which I did. It took him less then 5 minutes to remove the "chumsearch" issue and leave me with a clean Chrome browser with my selected opening page! His knowledge was amazing especially in light of Apples inability to solve the issue. His most notable comment was that the Apple help tried but did not know where to look. I don't write reviews very often, but it was after reading these, along with a couple of phone calls to other places that made me decide to bring my computer to Protech. Recently, my hard drive crashed. They replaced the hard drive with one twice as big and for half the price that Apple wanted (for the smaller drive) and in much less time. Also, they persistently worked with my old drive to recover nearly all of my data. Joey is very knowledgeable and I very much appreciate his service. I felt like the price they charged for the data recovery was more than fair as I had a lot of data and it wasn't very expensive.
