Protector Brewery is all organic; which makes the taste of their selection of beers fresh, clean, and crisp. ALL of the beer is delicious, I'm currently drinking the Citra Juicy DIPA but again I drink all of their beer because the flavors are outstanding. In most breweries, I only enjoy one or two styles of beer, so it amazes me that I like everything on the beer list. Protector Brewery makes beer full of flavor,without it being heavy in your stomach. Which makes their beer very drinkable. I recommend joining the Spartan Club it's a good deal! In my opinion the best tasting beer in San Diego! Been going since they first opened the doors. Still a humble brewery, but a titan in my view. Comfortable picnic and bar seating, and a community of committed customers: Active duty and retired military, Law enforcement, Firefighters, sports fans and everyday people. The staff is as friendly as the customers, and this place doesn't feel like a business, but rather a friend's place we're at all enjoying ourselves or watching a game. Food trucks supply the fare which could be pizza, tacos, etc. Very laid back atmosphere fun during games and happy hour.

Always looking for places to enjoy freshly made, local IPAs, and Protector recently landed on my radar. Been by twice now and enjoyed both visits. First, the beer is excellent. On Saturday I shared two flights with my wife to sample a bunch of different beers, including SD West Coast IPA, SD Hazy IPA, Warfighter, Citra Juicy DIPA, the DDH West Coast IPA Collab, and a few others. Enjoyed the DDH Collab most of all, but they were all good. Second, the beer is organic. That's a big plus in my book. Third, the brewery is veteran owned. And that's a REALLY big plus in my book! Oh. And there was a live band playing while we were there. Icing on the cake. If you love IPAs, give Protector a try!

Protector Brewing wqs on my list to try for San Diego breweries so when thee opportunity rose to try one of their beers I decided to seize it. This brewery is all organic and gluten free. I'm starting to warm up to gluten free beers more and more. The beer I had from this particular brewery was the Hazy IPA. It had the hoppy and juicy characteristics that a hazy has and was light like how gluten free beers should be. But it didn't come across as all that creative or interesting when it came to flavor. Unfortunately not a very memorable brewery experience.

Come support local vets! This brewery is owned by a former Navy Seal. We first had some of their beer at LHK Noodle Bar and the owner pointed us here. They have a nice selection of hazy IPAs and other types of beers. On the weekends there's supposed to be a wood oven pizza food truck that stops by, so check it out!

Truly any excuse to grab a new beer is all I need lol! The coffee shop next door had no more seating and the brewery was open (states it's closed on Sunday's but it was open when we got there!) we decided to stop in for a place to enjoy our food and obviously that meant I had to try some of the beer offerings. I got the Berliner Weiss and the guava fruited ale. I really enjoyed the Guava. Sweet but not too sweet and nice an refreshing! The Berliner was good too but wasn't overly flavorful. The brewery itself was nice and open and a welcome respite from the sun. There was a nice outdoor space and a bunch of tables inside too. Definitely plan on coming back in to try some other goodies!

Super chill brewery with outdoor and indoor seating! Juicy seltzer - loved how it wasn't very sweet. Light and refreshing! Mosaic hazy - light and a subtle tropical flavor coming through Hazy IPA - it was okay, nothing special SD West Coast - light and more bitter than the mosaic hazy (probably bc of the piney notes)

Was in the area and decided to stop by here now that SD is in red tier and we can come out of our shells just a little and enjoy a nice beer. Protector Brewery is an awesome place to chill and enjoy some good IPAs. If you are into IPAs definitely come here! They have a great selection and they are all really good. We were able to sample a good amount of the IPAs by getting tasters. Plus side everything is organic!! Yay!! Parking is plentiful and the staff are super friendly and helpful :)

This place is tucked away in the miramar district so it's a little difficult to find and it shares a parking lot with 3 or 4 other breweries. But nonetheless, I chose this place based off of a recommendation from a friend. Its very clean and has a good use of the space. The brewing equipment looks brand new, or they take pride in cleaning it very well. I bought one IPA and it was good and not too expensive. The staff member was very helpful and made a solid recommendation. This place is worth checking out!

Wow! I didn't know that organic beers were a thing. Leave it to San Diego, the Napa of breweries. Let's just say it wasn't disappointing. If you're a health freak, these beers will satisfied your taste buds... I mean it's a weird concept because when you think of organic you think of healthy but then you get beer and you think of Homer Simpson or some kind of fat drunk. Haha. Protector knows how to make beer and they can do it well. The beers are tasty. I wish they had more options with hazy and sours. But their West Coast style IPAs were good. It's a small operation and it's clean tasting beers. It's better than a lot of others. Can't wait to try their new releases!

Protector Brewery is a great local brewery right in the heart of a business park in Mira Mesa. An awesome local, Veteran owned brewery with a super chill ambiance and tasty beer. The location is great nestled in between a few businesses there are options to grab a bite to eat or some snacks while catching up with friends or coworkers and drinking one of San Diego's finest beers. The stout is by far my favorite but you cannot go wrong with anything they have on tap. Another plus is Protector Brewery is the first certified organic brewery to open up here in San Diego. Every once in a while they have live music which is awesome as well. What more do you need than beer and live music to bring people together! Whether meeting with your group after work or just looking for a place to relax and unwind with friends and family it is worth a visit (or a few) to Protector Brewery! #ThankYouThursday2021

First time visiting and loved the atmosphere and tasty beers! We brought our kids and they were so accommodating - brought out chalk for them to play with and Jenga too! Local eateries in same parking lot. When I showed my appreciation when closing my tab, the bartender even asked how they could improve to accommodate visitors with children - I thought that was pretty awesome! We were headed to dinner in the area and wanted to go for a drink before, got out my trusty Yelp and happened upon this awesome little business complex with multiple great drinking spots. Protector Brewery did not disappoint (my favorite was The Beast and The Juice) - definitely seems like a great place to come and spend a night. The Miramar area of San Diego is a "target rich enviornment" when it comes to craft beer for sure (yep, a TogGun referance). I thoroughly enjoyed one of the newest additions to the area, Protector Brewery. The robust porter was especially tasty. Check em out! read more

I first heard about this brewery around the time they first opened a couple years ago due to their bold take in the brewery industry by being the only San Diego brewery to use all organic ingredients. With that being said, I definitely had to check them out and I was impressed with what they produced within their first year. To be honest, the quality of the beer wasn't up to par in my opinion with breweries around the county. However, I can say that hold up for me has definitely been addressed going into their 3rd year being around! I most recently visited this place back in March due to a collaboration release they did with Trident Coffee. I enjoyed every beer that I had that day especially the Mocha Golden Coconut Stout Collaboration! That beer was phenomenal and from my knowledge they are still selling it at the brewery during this pandemic. Do yourself a favor and go support them during this time by taking home some beer to enjoy during quarantine! read more

Ehhhh while their beer was somewhat flavorful, it just wasn't good. In this area, breweries have to have something to bring you back and I didn't find anything I liked to come back. Best part was Hollidays BBQ did their pop up at this location for their anniversary. Meh read more

Stopped by this brewery after a training course. This brewery is in an industrial area, so we killed a little time here waiting for traffic to die down. This place is very cool! Everything was clean and modern in an industrial way... the bar tenders were good and friendly! The beer I tried were really good too :) read more

A cool and new little brewery in Miramar! It's in a warehouse near some other breweries and wineries. The bar is pretty spacious for its small size and has some cool decorations. No food, but plenty of beer. I got the simcoe hazy IPA and she got the Robust Porter. Hazy IPA was very flavorful and hoppy. The porter was roasty and dark. Overall, a nice little brewery off the beaten path with some tasty beers! read more

Organic brewery in San Diego! Beers are hoppy (so come and enjoy if that's how you like 'em!) and amazing. They have a nice atmosphere and chill place to hang out. This veteran owned brewery along with his incredible team nailed it. The flooring is glazed with a thick metallic epoxy, there are ample flat purse hooks at the bar that fold up (the best I've ever encountered) and when you walk in, you are greeted with a wall sized, lighted Spartan helmet made of hops and barley (and other things I can't recall at the moment), the details in this place are awesome. Most importantly, their brews are on point and all organic. The crew here is amazing, super friendly, knowledgeable of their products (they're not just pouring beer) and very efficient. This past weekend, I told someone to check out this brewery. His response was, "Yah OK, I'll add it to the ever growing list of breweries popping up in San Diego." Ignorance is sad. This is NOT "just another new brewery in SD." Hands down my favorite brewery! read more

Great tasting beer, coffee stout was outstanding! Located among at least 3 or 4 other breweries in the same strip mall, this place is a hidden gem. The double IPA is super tasty full of flavor. They have just upgraded their equipment to brew more capacity it seems due to all the extra brewing gear inside. Super staff and great feel when you walk in. Shuffle board table and sports on TV. Priced right and just the right amount of choices. No food but they let you bring your own. Great spot to have a few after work and still be able to hold a conversation we will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in this place on a little wander around miramar tasting brews trip a couple of weekends ago. The atmosphere is super chill, the owner/operator and his wife are very knowledgeable as well as super nice. They were both very attentive and personable which is hard to get at the "larger" microbrews. The place was immaculate, and there was plenty of seating and standing room. Check it out if you are ever in this area, the beer is probably some of the best I've ever tasted. read more

One of the stops on our Miralani Makers district tour, we carried along our chips/salsa from Mister G's next door and ordered a couple of flights of four. The staff was great and they suggested we go for two glasses of Juice IPA since there were 7 beers on the list, and we were not disappointed with the choice! Good ambience overall and it was less crowded, maybe because of the rainy weather outside. Should visit again! read more

So I was a bit judgey going into this place because they sell "organic beer". I expected it to be gimmicky and nothing to rant an rave about, but I stand VERY corrected. This beer is incredible, and I'm not sure if it's the way it's processed or because it's organic or maybe I owe it to the incredible brewers, but this place has fantastic beers! They were I loved everything I tasted at their soft opening. My boyfriend prefers well balanced beers (Belgians) and I'm more into the hoppy stuff and we were both happy with our choices! And it's in a great spot, with other fun places to check out next door. Nice job guys! read more

Came here for the soft opening June 2nd and was slightly thrown off by the whole organic thing. A lot of us questioned "how good of beer can they make with only organic hops?". Well those thoughts were quickly shoved aside as soon as I walked through those doors when I was greeted by a clean and fresh brewery. Freshly laid down "shadowy" epoxy flooring, a newly built from the ground cold box, spartan wall decor and tons of new brewing equipment make this place a contender for one of the coolest breweries in the area. Let's get to the most important part, the beer. Their West Coast IPA is fantastic, great color and clarity with a good bite. Cascade, Centennial & Simcoe are the hops to concoction, and it's tropical aromas all day. Along with the two pales and two IPA's debuted on that day, everything was clean and tasted good. They're planning to debut an 11% Imperial Stout SOON along with other beers! They also just installed a TV, sports fans rejoice. The team behind the bar are all great stand up guys. They're a bunch of sailors that teamed up after their service and started this place and it's evident in the quality and level of work they've put into this place, the venue is pristine. Can't wait for what the future holds guys! read more

I popped in to Protector today after the gym, let me tell you: first if all the vibe walking in was AMAZING. The design was great and the feel felt right at home. I had a Gladiator and WOW. Delicious but somehow light. But honestly, the best part of tonight was our beer-tender. I think her name was Amanda. She was friendly, super informative, and most of all crazy down to earth. I'd come back just to talk to her. Being 100% I've been here 2 or 3 times now and my experience had been nothing short of awesome. Best. Servers. Around. I challenge you to find cooler/friendlier beer-tenders. read more

The Juice IPA is amazing. We were in town for the blackberry walkabout and the Blackberry festival, and the Hopped Up Blackberry Juice IPA was mind blowing! I also loved the Sweet Belgian Blonde. read more

High fives for us by him! The beer menu is great. I go around different locations of breweries to try out any stouts or ipas they have advertised. I usually go for the strongest stuff because well, it just tastes better. We came during their happy hour, they have great prices for the pints, and great tasting beers. They do rotate, so if you don't see something that was on a previous posted menu, fear not, they will come back again. The interior vibes well, pretty chill tavern style bar which matches my vibe. 10/10 will come back again!

Battered fish is three smaller strips instead of one large piece of fish which I am more used to. I had a flight of three beers. They offer a flight of three, four, and five beers. I tried Father Ted Belgian Blonde, Spring Training IPA, and Gimmick Ale White Chocolate Peanut Butter Golden Milk Stout. The first two were good. The Milk Stout was different . Service was good. I like the converted house into a restaurant. Each room can be different and it feels less crowded. Overall, a great place for food and drink.

WOW! This is the best brewery to have ever been too! ORGANIC?!?!? Amazing!!! I had high expectation for this one, reading about the owners being Navy SEALs... I expected these true professionals to serve perfection and this is what I got. Perfection. Not only are the beers the best tasting and CLEANEST beer I have ever tasted, but what they did with the space is spectacular... actually inspirational, and it is immaculate. If that is not enough, chat with the staff!!! The owners hop behind the bar and are so fun to hang with! I will be coming back and bringing friends. This is the PERFECT location for PRIVATE events!!!
