I first heard about this brewery around the time they first opened a couple years ago due to their bold take in the brewery industry by being the only San Diego brewery to use all organic ingredients. With that being said, I definitely had to check them out and I was impressed with what they produced within their first year. To be honest, the quality of the beer wasn't up to par in my opinion with breweries around the county. However, I can say that hold up for me has definitely been addressed going into their 3rd year being around! I most recently visited this place back in March due to a collaboration release they did with Trident Coffee. I enjoyed every beer that I had that day especially the Mocha Golden Coconut Stout Collaboration! That beer was phenomenal and from my knowledge they are still selling it at the brewery during this pandemic. Do yourself a favor and go support them during this time by taking home some beer to enjoy during quarantine! read more

A cool and new little brewery in Miramar! It's in a warehouse near some other breweries and wineries. The bar is pretty spacious for its small size and has some cool decorations. No food, but plenty of beer. I got the simcoe hazy IPA and she got the Robust Porter. Hazy IPA was very flavorful and hoppy. The porter was roasty and dark. This veteran owned brewery along with his incredible team nailed it. The flooring is glazed with a thick metallic epoxy, there are ample flat purse hooks at the bar that fold up (the best I've ever encountered) and when you walk in, you are greeted with a wall sized, lighted Spartan helmet made of hops and barley (and other things I can't recall at the moment), the details in this place are awesome. Most importantly, their brews are on point and all organic. The crew here is amazing, super friendly, knowledgeable of their products (they're not just pouring beer) and very efficient. This past weekend, I told someone to check out this brewery. His response was, "Yah OK, I'll add it to the ever growing list of breweries popping up in San Diego." Ignorance is sad. This is NOT "just another new brewery in SD." Hands down my favorite brewery! read more

Great tasting beer, coffee stout was outstanding! Located among at least 3 or 4 other breweries in the same strip mall, this place is a hidden gem. The double IPA is super tasty full of flavor. They have just upgraded their equipment to brew more capacity it seems due to all the extra brewing gear inside. Super staff and great feel when you walk in. Shuffle board table and sports on TV. Priced right and just the right amount of choices. No food but they let you bring your own. Great spot to have a few after work and still be able to hold a conversation we will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in this place on a little wander around miramar tasting brews trip a couple of weekends ago. The atmosphere is super chill, the owner/operator and his wife are very knowledgeable as well as super nice. They were both very attentive and personable which is hard to get at the "larger" microbrews. The place was immaculate, and there was plenty of seating and standing room. One of the stops on our Miralani Makers district tour, we carried along our chips/salsa from Mister G's next door and ordered a couple of flights of four. The staff was great and they suggested we go for two glasses of Juice IPA since there were 7 beers on the list, and we were not disappointed with the choice! So I was a bit judgey going into this place because they sell "organic beer". I expected it to be gimmicky and nothing to rant an rave about, but I stand VERY corrected. This beer is incredible, and I'm not sure if it's the way it's processed or because it's organic or maybe I owe it to the incredible brewers, but this place has fantastic beers! They were I loved everything I tasted at their soft opening. My boyfriend prefers well balanced beers (Belgians) and I'm more into the hoppy stuff and we were both happy with our choices! Came here for the soft opening June 2nd and was slightly thrown off by the whole organic thing. A lot of us questioned "how good of beer can they make with only organic hops?". Well those thoughts were quickly shoved aside as soon as I walked through those doors when I was greeted by a clean and fresh brewery. Freshly laid down "shadowy" epoxy flooring, a newly built from the ground cold box, spartan wall decor and tons of new brewing equipment make this place a contender for one of the coolest breweries in the area. Let's get to the most important part, the beer. Their West Coast IPA is fantastic, great color and clarity with a good bite. Cascade, Centennial & Simcoe are the hops to concoction, and it's tropical aromas all day. Along with the two pales and two IPA's debuted on that day, everything was clean and tasted good. They're planning to debut an 11% Imperial Stout SOON along with other beers! They also just installed a TV, sports fans rejoice. The team behind the bar are all great stand up guys. They're a bunch of sailors that teamed up after their service and started this place and it's evident in the quality and level of work they've put into this place, the venue is pristine. I popped in to Protector today after the gym, let me tell you: first if all the vibe walking in was AMAZING. The design was great and the feel felt right at home. I had a Gladiator and WOW. Delicious but somehow light. But honestly, the best part of tonight was our beer-tender. I think her name was Amanda. She was friendly, super informative, and most of all crazy down to earth. I'd come back just to talk to her. Being 100% I've been here 2 or 3 times now and my experience had been nothing short of awesome. Best. Servers. Around.
