    Protein pancakes
    Leah B.

I enjoy coming to this place. I like that they are protein forward and clean. There are not too many other places in Modesto where you can get healthy food. I have since tried the super bird omelette, the boss bowl, and the banana protein pancakes-- all of which have been delicious. My husband and I also tried an apple protein shake that was out of this world, and a protein shake that reminded me of a Butterfinger. I don't remember what that one is called, but it was really great as well. They always have friendly service and food comes out fast. I noticed that they offer a discount for healthcare providers! You just need to bring in your badge.

Came here for lunch grab a wrap and Cesar salad and a green juice. Small clean store front outside eating and ample parking. Service was good a little wait but overall service was good condiments and Togo boxes are self serve. Nice spot

** I see lots of comments "Overly Priced ", but have you all seen Fast food restaurants prices. I rather come here knowing getting clean healthy food to be honest. Protein is not cheap at all for starters. I been craving pancakes and thought give this place a try. Can I just say, these pancakes are beyond my expectations... amazing a must try if you a Peanut butter lover. Portion really good size definitely coming back. Service -not gonna lie a bit slow not attentive to customer service it seems pretty much self serve place. It's a nice spot overall

Thai Monster, Peanut Butter Protein Balls.and acai Berry Blast (Shake)
    Tiffany H.

Driven by multiple times but finally got to try it. Got the Thai monster bowl, acai berry shake and peanut butter protein balls. Prices are high but the quality is good. Shakes at $10-12 and bowls cost around $20. The meat and chicken in my bowl were good and it tasted clean. Definitely needed some hot sauce and more flavor. Protein balls had a good flavor and texture. If you want overly priced "healthy, clean food," this is the place. Service was ok though it seemed like it was social hour with the staff when I got there during shift change with an empty restaurant. Food came out fairly quick.

Oh my yumminess. Keto Bowl. So delicious!
    Del S.

Came here with a coworker, and tried the Killer Keto. I've come since then and tried 4 other items. All of them are delicious. Planning on ordering in bulk next time. If you're wanting to dine in, during lunch it feels pretty small, but very clean. This is now a regular go-to for our household . So many options to customize depending on your dietary needs. Keto, vegetarian, vegan. It's all so yummy. Staff is knowledgeable, and makes great recommendations based on what you're craving.

Oh my!! This place is gold! How I wish I had one near by!! I'm in town caring for my mother and was looking for a healthy option. I yelped and found the protein house. What a gem! Delicious healthy options that include gluten free! (Nut free options for those who may need it) Service was good. We were greeted right away and given menus. I ordered a Mediterranean wrap (made gf) with sweet potatoes. It was delicious. I also had the matcha latte, a little sweet but was still really good! My dad, who was a skeptical (he wanted tacos, lol) about having anything ended up ordering the avocado toast. He enjoyed it!! lol he said he will definitely be back! It's a nice spot to dine in, it's quiet and clean.

This place is a must for people trying to stay inshape or workingout and don't want to feel guilty about what their eating, by the way, all the food is healthy and going to keep you on track with your goals. It's not just good for you, it taste good too. Everything I have tried so far has been super delicious and I would eat it whether it was health or not, but it doesn't hurt that its healthy and guilt free haha. I've had the pancakes, super yummy. The hamburger amazing, looked as good if not better then most restaurant burgers. Never had bison until I had the bison cheesesteak wrap. Um, yes please. It was so delicious, it will have you saying " where has this been all my life?" Oh and did I mention I got the cucumber salad for my side, who knew I would like cucumber salad and be fighting off my friend from stealing all my cucumber salad. Yes it was surprising delicious and yes my friend did end up stealing the majority of my salad. That's what I get for sharing haha, ok tbh I said take the rest home because I see how happy it is making you and I like sharing and making people happy, what can I say, that's just me. (Don't try and correct all my commas haha, I like commas haha) I love the fact that their fountain drinks come in 3 alternating flavors with BCAA in it to help you recover after a workout. The flavors are always changing but so far I haven't met a flavor I didn't like and I always try all 3, dont judge me, haha. Endless refills you say, um thank you very much. A small is only $2 and a large $3. Are you kidding me, what a deal. My last visit we got into a very pleasant and informative conversation with the owner January, yes January is his name and it was in the month of January we talked to him haha. He sparked our interest in one of their protein shake flavors and then was so nice to surprise us with a free small cup each to try. Wow, really nice, really personable and so much appreciated by me and my friend. By the way it was a Pina Colada flavor and it was amazing, amazing I tell you, trust me. I can't say enough good things about this place. The inside is neat and clean, I couldn't be more happy we have one in our town. It's the new wave of what restaurants need to be to sustain a healthy and happy society in my humble opinion. If you haven't been, please go. Tell them Nasser sent you and when they say who's that? Just say some crazy guy on yelp that I read his 5 star review haha. Pro tip: get the small BCAA fountain drink cup. Save a dollar, it's endless refills why get the bigger cup. Also don't forget to refill it to go. 2nd pro tip: if you are a member of inshape you get 10% discount so don't forget to mention that at the register. 3rd pro tip: download the app to earn points towards free stuff because you will be back for more. Now stop reading this super long review and go try Protein House already sheesh Haha

This is to turmeric rice. I bit down into it, and I felt something hard unsure what it was, but I spit it out of my mouth and I found this green piece of glass looking thing. i've been coming here for at least three weeks or so and maybe once a week maybe twice depending on how I'm feeling that week. But I don't think I will be coming back ever again and it's kind of disturbing to find something no idea what it is. I'm afraid that it's glass and I might have swallowed more. Who knows. So in a few days, I'm not feeling good. It's probably because I ate glass...

    Muscle Freak Protein Drink
    Stan M.

I have had 2 items here and both were fantastic. Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating inside. The first time I had a bowl with turmeric rice, ground bison, avocado, broccoli, tomato's very good. The second trip was for a protein shake. I ordered the Muscle Freak with 1 scoop of protein and no flax seed oil (2 Scoops Chocolate Whey, Almond Milk, Banana, Coconut, Dark Chocolate Chips, Almond Butter, Flax Oil. (619 cal / 56 protein, 40 carbs). This was really good, it is blended with ice so it is cold. Perfect mixture of the ingredients. Definitely will be back.

Can things be over cooked and yet cold? I asked for the steak medium and got well done. The chicken was cold and dry. A bad day for the PH.

The protein house is located in a new business complex right across from Kaiser Hospital. It is nice to see a healthy option that is cooked fresh at the time you order it. The inside is new, fresh and has a very inviting appeal to it. There are about six or so tables for seating on the inside and a long tall table against the windows towards the back. They have a large menu full of healthy and tasty options that are sure to appeal to everyone. I believe the prices for the quality of fresh food you receive it pretty fair. The one benefit to this place over meal prep locations is that everything is made to order, which is important to some people. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with a side of fruit. I was presently surprised at the portion size the sandwich for only being 372 cal/36 carbs/11 fat and 30 protein. This was a very tasty sandwich for a healthy option and it was very filling. The fruit was also very fresh and tasty. If you want a fresh and healthy choice, this place is a great option!

Build your own bowl: plain romaine lettuce with grilled chicken on top. They definitely didn't skimp on the chicken! Seasoned perfectly.
    Kelly M.

It's about time Modesto had a dine in place to eat that serves healthy, clean food. Love all the options they have and that there is something for everyone here! Plus you can create your own bowls, which is what I did. I just got plain romaine lettuce with grilled chicken. Yes it was simple, but the portions were large and I appreciate the fact that I can eat out and not worry about my food allergies here. My dining partner got the detox juice which she said was good and quickly drank it while we waited for our food. She ordered the Southwestern Bowl and she really enjoyed it. We both had leftovers to take home and it's an awesome value for the price. The inside is super clean, but small and we were lucky to snag a table with how busy it got. But that is a good problem to have and it's good to see this type of business thriving. They also do take out/to go orders and I think that's a great option. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!!

Staff was super friendly, went out of their way to make sure the tables were tidy, and refilled drinks really quick. The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. The food was just your typical diner type, greasy spoon kind of place. I got an egg white omelette with ham (looked like cut up pieces of thin sliced deli meat) and asked that fresh potatoes be boiled in water or steamed in water due to food allergy. What I got was fried potatoes. When I questioned the server he just said that's how they come. Do they not have raw potatoes in the back they could have boiled for me?? The taste of the omelette was meh and I only ate 4 bites. I obviously didn't eat the potatoes. The English Muffin felt oily, like someone touched it with greasy hands. I had asked for it to be dry and with no butter. So basically I didn't eat any of my food and will not be back (this was my third time here and none of the other experiences were any better.) Such a shame because it is only 5-minutes from my house. My dad ordered the chicken fried steak and my mom got the taco salad and both of their meals were inedible too. The food here is just BAD. I told the server I didn't like my food and he didn't even answer me. He took away three plates of uneaten food and no one asked if there was an issue and no manager bothered to come over to even talk to us or try and make it right. What a HUGE waste of money. Don't bother eating here...so many other places to eat that are so much better. This place was packed and no real waiting area...everyone just squished together. This is a hustling and bustling place, so if you are looking for a quiet spot, at least don't go when we did. Best part of this place is their wall for taking pictures. I think they care more about making things look IG worthy, than the quality of the product they are serving.

We also had the spinach and artichoke crab dip, which was 10 out of 10. We added extra crostinis which is recommended. For a drink, I had the Cosmo, which was nice and refreshing. I also had a taste of the Old Glory and that was a nice refreshing twist on the old-fashioned, which was recommended by our server. I had the Calabrian Chile Shrimp Scampi over pappardelle pasta and it was the 10 out of 10. The layers of flavor with the capers, lemon, bacon and spice was perfect! I tried a piece of the crusted halibut, which was very moist and flavorful as well as the salmon. All was great on flavor. For dessert we had the brownie with vanilla ice cream, which is a huge brownie. I would say it's good for four people. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience
