I contacted Protocol Plumbing and was surprised how quickly they were able to come out. My Kitchen Drain has been the bane of my existence for some time, but they were persistent and got it cleared. Their hourly rate is reasonable, and they are a company of high integrity. The clog came back 2 weeks later and they agreed to come back and clear it at no charge, which was very impressive. a. Horrible experience with this company. Met with sales rep Kathy in their showroom and was very excited to pick out my fixtures. One of the most important things to me was having a touch start kitchen faucet, and I have two faucets. Kathy priced everything out and sent it to me. I went to pay and the ACH function on their system wasn't working. Due to this delay, I started researching prices on the internet. Come to find out Protocol was marking up my fixtures between 40%-70%, and there were other items (material) that were marked up over 100%. This didn't sit right with me, so I decided to purchase the exact same fixtures myself and have them do the installation. When I ordered the fixtures, I copied and pasted the model numbers provided by Kathy. I didn't want to risk me typing it in wrong. Skip toward the end of trim, and my kitchen faucets weren't working with the touch. I spoke to the plumber on-site so he could get it working, and he told me that they are standard faucets, not touch. I reached out to the owner Erich and Kathy to inform them of this error, hoping they would make it right. Their response is they'll get the touch faucets for me at full cost-plus extra time and material for the installation. I also got the extra gift of the foreman Mike yelling at me telling me that it's my fault. I should have paid for their markup, and to sum it up, I should have been double checking all their work. So much for trusting a professional. My advice, if you don't want to pay for their extreme markup, go somewhere else for installation. No customer service to customers who don't purchase fixtures from them. They still must install my bath tub, I've already paid for. We'll see how that goes. My heating/cooling company wanted to charge me (what I thought) an excessively high price for 2 hours of work to replace a piece of corroded pipe leading to our water heater. I advised the tech I was not interested and sent him on his way. That was on Monday 6/24/24. I saw some recommendations for Protocol Plumbing on the Nextdoor app and gave them a call on 6/24. I made an appointment for Wednesday 6/26. Zack arrived on time, had the necessary parts, and not only replaced the corroded portion, he also added a valve for future shut off so the water heater would not need to be drained, and reconfigured the pipe so it was no longer in contact with another piece of metal that was also slightly corroded. The cost for this was less than one third the price for my heating/cooling company. Protocol Plumbing is now my 'go to' plumbing company! Honest, reliable and knowledgeable and on time! read more

We bought two water heaters from Protocol which they installed in a very professional manner. After a few weeks the gas heater went out and needed a manual re-ignition. They dispatched a technician to a replace a part thought to be faulty. After a few more months we had the same problem. In about 48 hours they sent two plumbers to replace the faulty heater for no charge. They were fast, friendly, tidy and, most important of course, very competent. We are extremely pleased with the service and value we have received from Protocol at every level and recommend them highly. read more

I have a house in Everett that I rent to a nice family, yesterday their 2 year old dropped a 2"plastic ball in the toilet and clogged it up. My tenant called a plumber in Everett that has a large regional presence and claims they can clear any drain for $89! Well there technician/plumber showed up and before he tried any way of clearing the toilet, he said he had to yank the toilet up to get at it...quoting a price of about $900! My tenant wasn't expecting that and said no to that highway robbery. I called Protocol Plumbing this morning at 8 am, I have used them several times in the past for small and large projects, their plumber Joel and he was there at noon and the clog was gone in less then 5 minutes. He even snaked the ball out of the sewer line. All for a reasonable price! I highly recommend Protocol for any pluming need or emergency! read more

I had work done by these guys for 3 separate needs during a remodel and my experience was awesome each time. Erich is quick to respond and up front about pricing. His employees are respectful and knowledgeable. I never felt like I was being mislead or ripped off. One of the services they did was repairing a shoddy job that was done by a different plumbing company, where they had to actually cut a hole in the wall to fix what the other company had messed up. Protocol charged a third of what the other guys had charged for their shoddy work and it took about 3 hours for the repairs, whereas the other guys charged about $1200 for maybe 30 minutes of work that wound up having to be fixed anyway. Just good vibes all around from these guys and will contact for any future needs! read more

Recently I had all of my toilets replaced in my house as they were ancient and rusty. Eric with Protocol Plumbing was super helpful with scheduling and making sure I knew what toilets to pick up from Lowes for easy install. Zach came out and installed my toilets super quick and easy, but the trouble started the next morning when I noticed a few puddles of water coming from the front of the tank on one of the toilets. Zach got back to me ASAP and came out to see what the issue was. He was quickly able to see that the tank had a hairline fracture that was letting out tiny drops of water at a time. He helped me reach out to Lowes and figure out the quickest way to get parts replaced and I had a working toilet again within the hour. He was kind and courteous the whole time. Absolutely thrilled with the recent experience I just had with Protocol Plumbing! This was our third water leak, in our front yard (house built 1969) but the first time we called to have a trusted professional make the repairs. I called and left a non-emergency voicemail Sunday afternoon, they called first thing Monday morning (by 7:30am) -- Kyle came out 10 minutes later, and the pipe was repaired, cleaned up and water back on before 10am! Couldn't have been more pleased with how quickly and easily everything went, and how professional and efficient everyone was. Kyle especially was polite, friendly, throughout, didn't make or leave any mess whatsoever, and was in and out without wasting any time (and time = cost). The repair was a leaking Moen faucets set that Southwest Plumbing, on a prior visit, proposed to repair by replacing the entire set for a "mere" $1,946.85. The Protocol Plumbing tehnician removed the stubborn plastic nut that Southwest Plumbing didn't want to do it, in less than 30 minutes. The entire repair (replacing both nuts and cartridges and tightning the valves under the sink) Protocol tehnician did it in less than one hour for less than $300, saving me more than $1,600. Kudos to Protocol Plumbing. Note: The Moen Eva bathroom faucets set has a thin wall plastic nut that gets easily stuck and is a big pain to remove when replacing the cartridge. This team has been our "go to team" since purchasing our home 5 years ago. We had a complicated plumbing situation that 2 other companies tried to solve without success. Protocol came out and had the entire thing solved in a few hours. When our septic backed up into a pipe under a concrete slab the septic guy said the whole slab would have to be removed. Protocol looked for an easier solution- they rerouted some plumbing, sealed the broken pipe off and we have been good since. They've just always taken good care of us- even for the small stuff like a sink that clogged just before our baby was born. We can't recommend them enough. These people are like lawyers, they Nickel and dime you for every minute of time. Overall - the quality of work is good, but probably not as they have to come back a year later to fix the same thing. Thy will not call you back when you leave a message and use the excuse they are too busy - welcome to everyone's life. They informed an estimate of work for $500 and handed a bill of $900 without any disclosure the job will cost more. And that work is in question now as the same area is broken again a year later, initial conversation over he phone - Chuck was very clear "it is not our issue". We have a circumstance where plumbing is required for flood damage and their priority puts you at the very end of their day where they will charge a visit fee and then will come back later to charge another visit fee to take care if the issue they already worked in. Chuck was not nice, impatient and is not good with managing customer needs for prioritizing work that was already done as well as for prioritizing emergency work. I will never use the lawyers of plumbing Protocol has some business practices they need to work on to at least be up to the same level as the 'good' (obviously not great) work. We had two simple problems....a wall sink that needed to be hung and a wobbly toilet. They made five trips out and neither problem is solved. We paid for four of the five trips out and didn't pay for the fifth trip simply because we screamed at them that we'd just paid them the week before to fix the same problem. Their service was out and a plugged kitchen sink line was resolved in less than 90 minutes of my original call. The plumber sent was courteous, efficient and competent. The price for the repair was very reasonable. When I contacted the company the next day for what appeared a different problem, Eric (thinking the owner) was out personally along with another plumber, and he diagnosed and corrected that problem again in less than 90 minutes...I thought this was a different issue and was not specifically related to the original issue. He insisted that it was..and REFUSED PAYMENT! Eric and Zack corrected the secondary issue and its cause...better than what was before. Who does this anymore? Erich Klemp was recommended to me and I'm very glad he was. He called within an hour of my call to him and was here an hour later. After getting a $1.700.00 City of Seattle water bill, I was anxious to figure out the plumbing problems at my house. He found 2 sources of small leaks, one from the tub and one from a leaky valve. He was here for almost three hours, and fixed them both. He didn't charge me for the 1/2 hour he spent diagnosing the exterior problems that fueled most of the enormous water bill and our subsequent conversation on what it would take to fix that. He offered several cost cutting measures, including my hiring someone else to do the exterior excavation, saying "It would be cheaper not to use a plumber" to do it. I will hire him again to bring the new pipe though the house He is one of those rare service providers who doesn't over complicate things or talk your ear off in order to prove how great he is. He is an easy going, friendly, respectful sort who is fair, competent, and responsive. He's a keeper. read more
