I genuinely think this is the best gym in the area. By far. You will never have to wait for a squat rack. Ever. You get high quality bodybuilding equipment that you'd find at Dragon's Lair (which is $150+/month.. by the way). The gym is basically 24/7.. and you get access to almost anything you would need for CrossFit or functional fitness. So it's basically a box + a bodybuilding gym + a strongman gym in one. For $40/month... with no contracts or fees at all. With all that comes a more serious clientele that you wouldn't find at a regular EOS Fitness. This is gym isn't crowded usually which makes it great. My only issues is that I wish more weight plates could be stored horizontally as I have finger issues so it's harder to get plates off the vertical racks. The other issue is that I have notice that a member brings their kids here. One of the sons loiters on the cardio equipment and I have noticed members having to go somewhere else bc of the child. I have had many memberships over the years from exclusive boutiques to mixed martial arts to trendy big box gyms and just never had lasting results. So I tried the at home work out but that just wasn't working either and I didn't want to give away my hard earned money to just another gym anymore... So I started searching around Henderson and was really looking for a place that had a mixture of weights, was open early morning to late at night, was safe and if they had turf space and heavy bags where I could box that would be a dream! But each gym that I came across didn't have turf space or if they did it was like over $$$ and you had contract and membership fees... But then I came across Protogym! This place is absolutely amazing. Seriously. They have turf indoor and outdoor not to mention huge tractor tires and strong man equipment, ropes, assault bikes, ropes, peg boards and treadmills and skierg...it's like CrossFit meshed with HIIT and strong man but they didn't forget the box gym standard weights and cardio machines. They even have a complete boxing area equipped with multiple bags!!! It's like an amusement park but for people who like to workout! I feel excited each time I go for a work out not to mention it's clean, very affordable and best of all the staff Erin, Anthony, Matt, and Annalise are very attentive, knowledgeable and kind. I recently joined Protogym and it is so much better than the chain gyms. And there aren't contracts, sign up fees, maintenance fees. Just pay the monthly fee for as long as you want to use the gym. They have a really big selection of equipment: squat racks, barbells, bumper plates, machines, lots of equipment for functional exercises... even when they are busy you rarely need to wait for anything. And they have everything you're likely to need. The members re-rack weights and put equipment away when they're done. You don't have members putting a towel on one piece of equipment, a water bottle on another, while they rest on another piece of equipment and play on their phone... like at many of the chain gyms. Or have someone with an entourage videoing their workout and tying up a bunch of equipment. The staff is really helpful and everyone I've talked with there has been nice. read more

I would never go to another gym, and would not find one with a better owner and trainer. Mike was my trainer years ago at his first facility. And again at his new one. He has worked extremely hard to get to this point. Although he doesn't do much training himself anymore. He has multiple trainers that are highly skilled that do. He has the best equipment in town , as far as I'm concerned. And caters to all levels of fitness and all ages. I noticed a negative review on this forum about a man wearing a weighted vest whilst working out. I whitened this event, whilst working out . And he did fail to mention that he had a bag FULL of live ammo inside the facility. I would hate for this one review to negatively influence people when it is inaccurate. And I needed to speak up as both an honest reviewer , a patron of this business, and an eye witness. read more

I've had better customer service from the DMV. But if that's your link and you enjoy every member weirdly staring at the door when it opens, this might be your place. My first month met me with an aggressive confrontation with the owner (or manager, he was definitely autistic). I had been training with a weight vest for an hour, running, doing pull ups (10 sets of 10), climbing the rope, so he had obviously seen me wearing it prior to his outburst. for some reason he waited for me to finish my workout before aggressively approaching and shouting to me from a distance that my vest was illegal and not allowed in the gym. (Nylon vest with plates is not illegal) then he monologged about second amendment and his concealed carry , im not sure if he was threaded by me or threatening me. This place is awful. I went to try the gym out a few months ago and was originally going to purchase just the day pass for $15. The man working at the counter at the time explained that it was $30 for the month so it made sense to just try it for the month. I was not told that I was going to be auto billed, rather I would be trying the gym out for the month. I liked it so little, I didn't return. It was very small and had limited hours at the time. No way I was leaving my gym for this. A few months later, I receive my 1st email from them that I am being auto billed for a membership with them. Ok, no big deal- I figured I would just call and have it handled over the phone. I was unfortunate enough to have my 1st call of the day be with Mike and his attitude was absolutely appalling. He was extremely aggressive and rude on the phone. He refused to refund the charge earlier this morning to my account, spoke over me, told me I was entitled and attempted to make me feel stupid for not reading over the contract. I then asked to speak with a manager and he so proudly told me he was the owner. As an owner, you should train your employees to know what they are talking about when selling day passes and memberships. Second, you represent the brand of your company, being rude, aggressive and a bully on the phone is only going to deter members and potential members. Especially woman. No female is going to want to come to a gym and be treated that way by some aggressive and short tempered man. read more

I'll give this place 2 stars. 1 reason is bc it's pay as you go. THAT ALONE is a good deal w/ ANYTHING. IDC if it's cable, gym, phone bill -whatever. If pay as you go is an option then take it. You don't have to put a card on file here, you can strictly use cash if u don't have a card or don't want to use it & thats good bc you don't have to worry about deductions from your account if you ever choose to stop going. However there should be the option to pay in other ways also. It's 2023 and not taking Apple Pay or gpay or zelle is kind of lagging. Another thing is the vibe. I never experienced any direct rudeness or problems here w/ anyone but it's kind of like what another review stated, you don't get that warm vibe here from anyone. Its a gym to work out so I get it, but it's just not welcoming. As for gym equipment, they have limited amount of things so when it's busy so dont expect much use of things. Just joined today and my first impression is that for the price and no contract convenience, I don't think it gets any better than ProtoGym. As member of another club that charges 5 times their rate... I wish they'd take some notes from these guys. Sure Proto might not have hardwood floors, towel service, a robust locker room and pool etc but they definitely have all the equipment and more to fit all your fitness needs regardless if you're a beginner or a pro. I spend a lot of time in the squat racks and there is absolutely no shortage of those here. Really looking forward to warm weather and utilizing the outdoor turf area. If you're serious about your fitness goals and just want to get the job done with no fluff or unnecessary a... this is definitely your spot. **Update** First day back in Phase 2! If you're looking for a gym that genuinely cares about their members health and respects the current guidelines in place ProtoGym should be your second home. Sure not all members wears masks although it's encouraged by ownership, it's not mandatory and definitely a preference. Note all the staff wear masks as directed. Everyone seemed mindful of distancing as well. Hand washing required upon entering and you're given a spray sanitizer and a wash cloth. Equipment properly spaced and cardio machines were blocked off every other machine. All the precautions and preparations that they took and invested in have just reassured me that I picked the right gym. Definitely glad to be back! read more

This gym is worth traveling across the Las Vegas valley. Having gone through many motivational ups and downs in my life, Mike at Protogym finally got me working out consistently. This is a high-end gym with superb equipment, great coaching, and motivation if you need some help. While you can just do the regular gym membership, I personally love the unlimited pass for personal coaching which has got me from going to the gym a few times a month to five times a week. Awesome gym! This gym has an old school hardcore feel but with enough of the modern equipment to facilitate any workouts you desire. They even have punching bags!!!! The people are chill and polite. I met the owner, he was a true straight shooter and naturally warm dude. He explained to me that he's an engineer that built this place from the ground up, even the temperature and air quality in this place is top notch. That may have to do with the engineering.lol also my son left his phone there and realized it later and it was still where he left it. i do wish that they had hammer strength incline press but that's just me. lol read more

Summary - best gym ever I wish I had one in my hometown. This is the right product that people have been wanting for a long time. This is an open letter to the gym owners, staff, members, prospective members, and people look at gyms. This gym is awesome. I was on leave to take care of a family member for 2 months and Protogym gave me a place to workout and follow my programming. They have the equipment, they have hours, and they do it all without a confusing pricing structure. Want to know what their price structure is? No BS, flat monthly rate and no sign up, no cancellation, no minimum lock in, no "cancel by 2 weeks and 23 hours before the billing date or your get billed" BS. No BS, just pay your month and go workout. Want to know their hours? 24/7 Want to know their rules? Do you know how to do the exercise safely and not injure yourself - good, do the thing get it done. If you don't know ask, they will help you out! If you hurt yourself, like any other gym, you signed that away in liability anyway even at the large commercial gyms with smiling faces or your moldy apartment gym, you sign away that liability. Want some personal training? Ask about it, you won't get assaulted for it like other places. Is this a newbie welcoming place? Yes. Come in, ask about stuff and how to do some things, staff is super friendly and open. Is this a place to coddle your imposter syndrome to an extreme like a purple and yellow helicopter parent? No. Get over it, people come to a gym to workout, not judge your level of performance. If you're in the gym everyone supports you and your goals. If you need coddling go to the purple and yellow place. I can't thank Protogym for doing what they do enough. Great environment, carries the essential in equipment, and the staff were always a help. Joined for a month while my other gym was temporarily closed once I heard there was no annual contracts. The month was a flat $30 fee that gives you a great 24-hour facility that's welcoming around the clock. Was able to happily keep my headphones on and power through my workouts, whether it be olympic-barbell exercises or the basic accessory exercises. You can literally just pick up a barbell and carve out a space anywhere appropriate (e.g. in front of the mirrors). Just make sure to uncheck the monthly renewal option when purchasing you membership. There was a mishap where mine wasn't checked, and I was charged for a month that I wasn't planning to use the facility. I'm happy to give 5 stars because after an email to the facility, they refunded my month without any hassle. Overall great business practice. read more

I once was a 24hr refugee, and now i am not. I simply cannot stand the BS at a lot of gyms with signups in addition to your monthly dues, there are admin fees, yearly fees, package fees, etc. its really discouraging for people who just want to pay a monthly fee and be left alone. I came on referral from a friend who said the owner is really nice, no nonsense and you can walk in and get going with little to no effort. When i walked in the owner was on the phone, and actually signed me up so easily while he was handling his phone call and sent me on my way (loved that). It really was no BS, a monthly fee, no extra costs or fees to speak of. I live in the Southwest yet i drive to Henderson to workout so that i can come to this gym, i feel like the extra effort is worth what the gym has to offer. A few key points of interest for myself personally is - Large space and not overly busy even at peak times - Functional equipment not just a kettlebell, think a mace and more - Decent sized outside space even - Good WiFi signal (ive only had it drop out once on me so far) - Two machines i really like are the Cross Country Skier and the Jacobs Ladder I am pleased that this place exists and has something more to offer than the typical big box gym and large crowds. If i can find anything close to Proto closer to home, i will consider a change but till then i make the trip because its worth the effort. read more
