These people got me feeling so low about myself and my recovery. I've been here for going on 5 months, they have not brought up anything about aftercare, I have my son with me and they use my Dcfs case over my head and if I don't do what THEY want me to do they will threaten to call my social worker on me. the only time i hear that I'm doing good or that somebody is proud of me if through my sponsor, my social worker and my family. being 4 months clean is not easy to do and every day I hear about something im doing WRONG. i can't wait to leave this facilit. only the strong survive here. as long as you can live feeling low and helpless and depressed then come on in!!! I need help I feel stuck here and I'm trying to like hell to find somewhere to go read more

Rosalinda should be investigated for harassment and abuse. I heard that even outside of work she victimizes other women. How do you open an investigation?? She protects her son who has physically abused of at least 3 women but "protects" women. She's evil. read more

I can say prototypes made me a better person today. From the moment I walked in those doors I knew it was one step towards the right direction that's all that mattered. Right away I was met with a wonderful counselor Leslie she was very honest from the start and helped me with all the things I needed to get situated in the program.One thing I really enjoyed was the classes the learning opportunitys while at prototypes.Every teacher had their own way of educating us each was nice everyday something new and exciting. The room I stayed in was very comfortable the girls that were there before me welcomed me right away and made me feel safe. After the blackout period visits were allowed when approved by my counselor.It's really all about who you surround yourself with during early recovery I was very fortunate to meet my best friend while there which made treatment very fun times while also being a place to relearn skills and gain substance abuse knowledge.The staff was very kind to me I never had any issues even when there was disagreements they handled it very professionally.Towards the end of my stay I felt very excited to restart my life but also a little bit nervous which is normal.I really appreciate the time and effort my counselor staff members and even med techs gave me.It might not be a lavish getaway but it definitely will reshape someone's life into such a brighter one.After treatment you receive a letter of completion.. I didn't receive one due to leaving a couple days short of completing. My support team didn't let me leave without having a conversation with Curtis and my counselor which I will never forget they truly cared I felt the genuine concern for my well-being most places don't have caring staff that will go to that level to help someone. After packing everything in a hurry I was walked to the front where I look one last look and walked out the doors...I gave my best friend a big hug then we laughed about the embarrassing conversation we had with stuff the night prior.Unnecessary rumors can spread quick there was a melodrama that made us question some of the rules in place but other than that nothing to complain about. Thank you prototypes for transforming me into a responsible young lady with all the sobriety skills I needed and more teaching me that recovery is possible no matter what "never never never give up". read more

This facility is amazing! I went to that facility on June 1, 1999. Prototypes change my whole world. I am so grateful to God and prototypes. When I was there, the staff was amazing and I'm sure that it still is. I have been clean and sober for 25 years. If you had a bad experience, do not blame it on the staff first check and see if you've done anything wrong or is it something that you're not getting right? You were there for help and that's what you're expecting. When we come off the streets and go to a place that wants to help us we still have that mentality of everybody is against us. Be ready for help when you get there. If you don't understand the curriculum find someone that does. Associate yourself with someone who has recovery in mind. Someone who wants recovery if you're not ready don't waste the space because you are taking it up for someone who wants recovery. I salute the two wonderful ladies who founded prototypes. The advice that I can give you is that if you believe, pray. Believe that you can do this is God giving you another chance. When I went into prototypes my counselor told me that only 5% would make it and or stay clean and sober. I told her that I was gonna be one of those 5%. Guess what I'm still one of those 5%. And I have no one to think but God, prototypes and myself for allowing myself to receive help. When you're looking to be helped things can't go your way, you have to go the way that Help is. I came to this Program from jail I was ordered to do the 18 month re entry program. At first I was like that's almost 2 years! But it is better than the 3 years in prison I would have had to do. So I stayed . At Prototypes I began doin classes or GROUPS to help me learn about my addiction and trauma that led me to my addiction. I met a Employee by the name of Gloria Bridgette who everyone affectionately calls Ms B. I have to say she was the REALEST, most straightforward, most motivational person I have met on this journey. She Always let all of us know where she came from, how she became the strong SOBER Business woman she is and How WE never have to go back to where we came from; being addicted to Substances on the streets. Ms B always showed a care and concern for the women no other staff member did. She was a true INSPIRATION to my story , my path and my LIFE! I will NEVER forget her she had mad a great impact on me AND COUNTLESS others. If you're weak in your program and NOT WlLLING to be completely HONEST, OPEN-MINDED, and WILLING to chang you're ways as well as your life, you may have a hard time understanding where Ms. B and the others who have turned their own lives around are coming from, But if you're like me and see No other choice but to change your life or Die you'd Be EVER so GRATEFUL to have came across Ms B and her colleagues. The med tech at this location (not a doctor) refused to give my mom meds !prescribed medication! And said she didn't need to give my mom her meds and thought she was above the law and then when my mom called the staff over she decided to say she was lying and acted like she was giving it to her. read more

Gloria Bridget and Ms Connie and Ms. Virginia loved us until we could love ourselves again!! They don't sugar coat addiction, they give it to you REAL!! First and foremost i want to say that things are what you make them. I recently completed residential treatment there and i dont want to focus on the negative rather give credit where credit is due! Ms.Gloria B. one of the facilitators there is one of the most amazing, down to earth, never forgets where she came from, remembers each face, always gives a hug and lets you know that she cares and wants you to succed! The focus of this review is the blatant disregard for the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of clients by staff at Prototypes. This facility does NOT allow clients to schedule medical, mental, and/or dental services during the entire 3-month in-patient treatment program. As for any pending healthcare appointments which were scheduled PRIOR to intake, clients are denied transportation to/from appointment and are not permitted to secure transportation via family. This routine has been common practice at facility for the past several months. There is no excuse nor justificcation for the implementation of such a cruel, prejudicial, and draconian policy. Physical and mental health, stability, and well-being are basic HUMAN RIGHTS, not privileges. Governor Newsome signed SB 349 into law... now enforce it! read more

the med techs refused my anxiety medication that is perscribed by a dr. and when i tried to talk to the supervisor curtis about it he wouldn't even hear me out and basically accused me of being a liar he told me i wasnt getting my mede and said i wasnt telling the truth about the time i went to get in line for my medication he also told me it is not illegal to withhold persxription medication from clients and refuse them their medication and that i wasn't going to get it to go ahead and file a grievance which i plan to with a written witness statememt that i am bring discriminated against and not receiving my medication i am having a severe anxiety attack now this was both illegal and unprofessional treatment and i plan to go as high up as i need to to correct this poor poor service and treatment here ...there are plenty of other great rehabs do not send ur family here they think they are above the law cus so many get are to unwell to stand up for themselves butthis treatment s unnethical and immorral prototypes is the worst staffed facility i have ever seen not to mention how they hand out dirty stained linens and keep the donations meant for clients i have been here a month and prototypes has done absolutely nothing for me they even made me miss my courtdate because they never scheduled my transportation even tho i turned in a slip and told me they dont kno if theyll send me to my children's court date i have coming up either..a cluent here came here for help and got her baby taken while staff looks the other way while other mothers cus at their children and so on and so on ihonestly have more complaints than i have time to make on this place its terrible and the staff breaks the law not recommended at all read more

the medline med techs (not nurses they are specifically and only allowed to pass out medication to clients and make appts) jeanette and michelle like to be rude and disrespectful to clients they power trip even tho they're only med techs and withhold and threaten to with hold clients medications from them which is completely illegal this is a dual diagnosis treatment center so the medication ranges from antibotucs to severe schizophrenia treatment meds and it is against the to withhold a perscription medication from someone it is emotional abuse to threaten to withhold it and they taught us that here in class however this is a terrible program floor staff is terrible, meals have had numerous complaints of hair in the food and when i told ms kirsty she said there was nothing she could do about it, they are unable to provide adequate care and need an audit and new staff asap this place is crucial to saving lifes so hopefully they catch these problems soon and replace the terrible staff breaking laws and commiting abuse towards clients..theyre completely unprofessional and i would nit reccomend this place even as an only option its horrible, unsanitary, and unable to meet standards something needs to be done here so hopefully all the grievances filed(that no one ever pics up) help someday ...i only rated one star cus 0 wasnt an option read more

If u have a opportunity to go somewhere else pls do!!! They just want the insurance money. I have a friend that had gone thru the program before. And had to return. But she wanted to go to to a different treatment center one she thought would better fit her and give her the better opportunity to better herself. But her lawyer is Incahoots with them and wouldn't even bring it up to the judge. So she had to go back there. She's been in the program and was doing what she could to make the best of the stay there making lemons into lemonade. Well one day she was having a bad day and against her better judgment walked a little past the facility cut off line. Well they brought her back in and told her that the head of the snake so to speak. Would sit down and go over a plan of what to do next and they would revisit it on Monday when she would be in the the facility. And this was said on a Friday to her. Well they said that to keep her there like that was there choice to make in the first place. Then a little bit later la county came and picked her up. So not only are they liars and deceitful, they preach on and on about on about trust and honesty but how is anyone supposed to believe them if they don't practice what you preach. So when she went to court they told the judge she needed to do 2 months before she could return. He replied for what? and reduced it by a Little to one month and 2 weeks. Keep in mind all the other girls before that got sanctioned only had to do 2 week for hands down worse things. Then while she was waiting to get picked up the director comes over and tells her. I have no proof but I know u snuck out before. Who does that I can't prove it but I know u did?!?!??to someone trying to get on track and stay on track there is constant drug use but they sanctioned someone who is devoted to finishing the program for crossing a imaginary line to gather her thoughts. What a joke!! So if u have the opportunity to go somewhere else I urge u please do, common sense isn't that common any more and these people make no Sense read more

I can't even give this place one star. The following is not an exaggeration of events it's real. When i arrived to prototypes in Pomona from jail, I thought my prayers were answered. What is supposed to be a treatment center is nothing more than a money hungry juggernaut that bribes mental health criminals such as myself with the hopes of getting a job and getting your life back on track. I was instead bullied by clients with clout. I had wrote many statements and pleas for help to the staff only for people to push right back in the same situation. They want you to help each other but I tried to help a client by telling her not to seat her son in one store while shopping in another..since I had no advocate I was brought to court where the re entry supervisor ms Trina has a judge by the name of Judge Tynan Dept 42 CCB wrapped around her little finger. I was never able to have a voice in this program in my recovery period. I have also seen a program monopolize a judge and court room throwing women back in jail for minor issues in following rules only to get permission to get the client back in prototypes costing los Angeles county and medi-cal millions in ungiven services. I went to court right after a woman from Australia in their legislature came to view Judge Tynan he was so nice while she was there then when she left, he called my case. He only let ms Trina talk then I asked to be heard he yelled at me and said mean things to me I started crying because I felt trapped. Prototypes treat us as clients very poor. Their lack of communication with each other trickles to us daily. They constantly threatened me to go to jail for my complaints I was pushed by a client and told and nothing was done. The people I had problems with were sent to the same sober living after I asked not to be with those girls.i am constantly blamed by ms Trina and she also has a huge power trip from what judge Tynan allows her to handle.prototypes play with our lives like dolls. This facility operates exactly like jail. They break confidentiality all the time. I have been through a lot but I never been belittled and mistreated as bad as I have here.i am so afraid they will put me back in jail when the only probation officer ms Rollins had forced me to line up with other women to line up in a public court restroom with the public still coming in and out, made us test in the handicap stall with her standing there making us fill out the forms in the restroom while in line. By the time I got to the stall I was so embarrassed and traumatized I couldn't pee and I started my period right then and there she added to my trauma by threatening me in the bathroom and told me to come to the office later in which she cancelled that at the end of court. While on a visit to see my children after attending a class the following day I received a call from the sober living I paid for who is prototypes alumni and while she heard my kids she forced me to return to the home and also told me I could not finish my visit or go to work until I speak to ms Trina or ms Rollins. I was holding back tears leaving my children and missing work can get me with no job. I feel helpless... This program is as corrupt as it can be I did not know I lost my rights to be a human until I came here I just want to complete the program successfully but the program tries to set you up to fail. While having a job there they did not feed me or allow me to get my medication several times.
