I have heard about Providence for years and finally made my way down with my bride for lunch. Let me just say it wasn't what I expected but I'll definitely give it another shot. We got the providential as it was recommended and the pizza was ok but nothing special. We would definitely get the deep dish next time as it looked exceptional with some yummy burnt cheese around the edges. I got the cherry salad which was good but had way too much dressing on it so I'd get it on the side next time. It is worth a second chance but not worth the drive from Lee's Summit for me so if we are in Grandview again will stop in. read more

Don't know what happened to this Grandview location but it used to be much better. as an avid pizza guy from NYC I thought i found a great Pizza place but when no one will answer the phone and the online order option is disabled on their website it dose not matter how good the food is if you cant get it. I ordered a pizza from D'Bronx instead, they answered their phone so they got my business read more

I've been a huge fan of Providence Pizza ever since they popped up at a few Yelp Elite events over the years. They also support local events and love their community. THEN I learned that they are only about a 5 minute drive from where we live. All of this has made quite the love story. I love Providence Pizza! Their cheesy bread is phenomenal! I can eat an entire order of that delectable bread and then be tempted to order more and just eat it as my meal. Their pizza? I would rank their pizza in my top 3 of Kansas City. In no particular order: Waldo's, Providence, and Minksey's; those are my 3 favorites. Who knew that an exceptionally fantastic pizza place would be in Grandview? But it's true! read more

We went at lunch time and the place was pretty busy, pretty much packed. The other guys with me ordered pizza, I ordered a philly cheese steak. They were almost done with their two slices each when my food got there. I was a little upset, until I seen the sand which. BOOM BABY!! The sand which was worth every minute of the wait!! Had ajus with it even. This sandwich was delicious!! I guess they take a little longer to get than slices of pizza already cooked, but it was worth the wait too!! I'd highly recommend the philly here for sure. If it had been quicker, I'd have rated it 5 stars for sure!! read more

Very good pizza with interesting flavors and terrific crusts. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the staff can be a little passive. I arrived an hour and half before close and asked them to make me a whole Rezy pizza. The employee behind the counter said "yeah we aren't doing that anymore" after explaining I wanted to buy the whole pizza he replied "yeah we just aren't doing that". I ended up having to get 2 other slices that I wasn't that interested in because it was what they had left. I understand having that rule when you're about to close, but an hour and half early? Seemed a tad lazy. I'll be back though because the pizza is that good. read more

Providence is one of my favorite pizza places around here. Quality pizza, great staff, and a great range of options if you're wanting something else. The Tuesday wing deal is incredible. The salads feel fresh and deliciously balanced. And the Nutella dough boys dessert is one of my favorite desserts I've had in a while! Highly recommend! read more

We stopped in on a whim and it was such a fun place! They have NY style and deep dish pizza by the slice or whole. You order at the counter. Delicious food, clean restaurant, quick service. We stopped here on our way to Liberty, and will keep this in mind next time we are in Grandview. Selection of the single slices was slim, only 4 to choose from, since we didn't arrive until 7:30. But, the service was quick, lots of tables to choose from, and they had a LOT of people grab to-go orders while we were there. read more

Specialties

Providence Pizza is a unique pizzeria offering multiple styles of pizza, each in an authentic fashion. Differing ovens and doughs are used so that each style remains true to its roots. Two of the three owners are brothers from Providence, Rhode Island and are endeavoring to reproduce some of the diverse pizza styles common to their city. New York style thin crust pizza is offered in multiple sizes, as well as by the slice. Sicilian style thick crust is served by the slice or whole in a 12 x 18 pan and is a tasty alternative to the thin crust. Dinner service includes all of the above, with the addition of an authentic Neapolitan pizza- made with a sourdough crust, and cooked in a Le Panyol wood fired oven at 900 degrees. Neapolitan pizzas are 12 inches. In addition to pizza, hot oven grinders are served lunch and dinner. Options include the meatball, the italian, the cheesesteak, and the chicken pesto. Calzones are offered, made in house, and are big enough to serve 1-2. The menu includes salads such as the greek, cherry, and caesar. Desserts are made in house and feature a tiramisu and cannoli. Root beer is brewed in house and offered on tap. Catering available as well.

History

Established in 2014.

Two brothers from Providence, Rhode Island met entrepreneur Bill Bristol and began discussing a pizzeria concept. After agreeing on a closed down Long John Silver in Grandview, Missouri as an ideal location, a year of renovations commenced in 2013. Design plans began with Amy Granieri, of Jackson Creative Group (Middletown, Rhode Island) and were later assumed by Mike Zarli, designer and president of Modern Building, LLC. Zarli was brought in from Providence, Rhode Island to oversee the construction of the project. The modern industrial decor, and the transformation of the space are noteworthy. A passion for all styles of pizza influenced the overall food concept at Providence Pizza. Brother, and co-owner, Aaron Salvatore, graduated from Tony Gemignani's International School of Pizza and was made a certified pizza maker in 2013.

My review is not on the pizza, because hands down "Its the BEST" My review it about the customer service I received after getting carry-out. The dark haired guy face hair dark eyes "rude" after making a call in order i came into the store to pick up I notice that I notice that i wanted a few slices of pizza also so i order two slices and he ask me to pay so i paid in cash. As I waited for my slices I was looking over the menu and notice something else i wanted to try, so i ordered them. Some girl took care of me on this transaction, but i decided to put this on my card because I had not plan on getting anything so i did not have enough cash so I put it on my card. So I took a Step back and waiting then the dark haired guy comes up and let me know my pick up order is read so I pull out the cash from my pocket and give him the money and then this guy says to me " I am glad you have cash because i did want to have to keep swiping your card again" So i said "what does that have to do with anything as long as I am paying and you only swipe my card once". He then grabs the money from my hand and say " like I said I am glad you have cash" He then puts both slices of pizza on top of each other and drops them into a bag. "so rude" I then get home to part of my cheese smash on the plate between the two slices. I love this pizza and i come here a lot I have never been treated like this and my food has always been package well for travel back to home. i will come back because this is the only good pizza in this town but guy needs to keep his rude comments to him self. ooo he says we loose every time we swipe a card we pay so make sure you get all your stuff on the same ticket "what a Joke Dude" customers are right dude if I come in a order 6 things on separate tickets or not its still business and revenue for the business. read more

This might be my new favorite pizza joint in KC! I've been trying to find a GOOD Sicilian slice for a while now and man, this place hit the spot! I had a NY-Style Cheese slice and a Sicilian Meat Slice and my God....I could've just died and I would've been satisfied with my life. This restaurant was absolutely good and they have great options of Italian food. The menu was fantastic with excellent quality. We ordered a Wood Fired pizza and New York Slice, and both were absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy with just the right amount of chew. The tomato sauce was tangy and fresh, and the cheese melted perfection. The pizza served hot and fresh, and the ingredients tasted high-quality. Stopped in for a wood fired pizza, found out they begin serving those at dinner. Came back again and tried the Margherita and it was amazing. The crust is really unique. I also was amazed at how quickly it cooked in their copper wood fired oven. I love the Sicilian too. It's really thick, but light and airy, so it doesn't leave you feeling too full. This is the BEST pizza in South KC, maybe in the whole metro (I haven't been to them all). They have a wood burning oven that makes the crust taste beyond delicious. I was in last month and the owner was present, and he visited with me for a couple minutes. He was very polite and wanted to know how the food was. I was so impressed. Some of the best pizza I have ever had! Crust is crunchy and on the thin side with bubbles from cooking=yum! They do not deliver, but worth a drive to Grandview. Pizza was served right out of their brick oven pipping hot. Tasted just like the pizza I had in Italy. read more
