Phenomenal pizza! I didn't think too much of this place at first driving up but was very surprised after walking in. The lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for $10 is such a good deal. I've gotten several kinds of slices on the menu but I always make sure to get the Detroit style with the hot honey on top. Highly recommend!

Wow! What a lovely restaurant! The staff here is amazing! Very kind and helpful. We loved the classic interior. Wood, metal, concrete. Loved it. My wife and I each enjoyed a couple of slices of pepperoni. Next time we will order a whole pie. This pie is the best we've had in the area. Great NY style pizza!

Providence Pizza is my top choice for pizza in town. I particularly enjoy their $10 lunch specials during the week, which let you choose between a couple of pizza slices, a slice with a salad, or a slice with a soda. My go-to is usually the Anita Margarita pizza, but I recently tried the new chorizo taco pizza, and it was fantastic. The Caesar salad is also a great option. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside, complete with TV screens, and there are outdoor patio tables as well. It's conveniently located right by Highway 71 and Grandview Main Street. Plenty of parking available too!

It's official...my first disappointing experience with Providence Pizza. This place is my absolute go-to. It's usually spot on, but we can't always be winners. My husband ordered in the Grandview shop and everything went swimmingly except for my order, a 16" Slater Mill. They're out of burrata. Bummer. Okay fine, discount for the missing ingredient? No. Okay... add pesto please! This particular pie comes with ricotta, I was told they'd add extra. Wonderful. Upon opening the box it was crushing disappointment. Pesto? No (bite featured in photo just to make sure I didn't miss hidden pesto). Extra ricotta? No. The worst part was it was overcooked so the ricotta was cooked down to utter nothingness instead of fresh dollops that are just kissed by the ovens warmth. It was garlicky crust. That's about it. I tried to call the shop around 6pm but no answer. So here I am. Stars for what it usually is.

Oh my word finally a pizza find in the Kansas City area. Unbeknownst to most people I come from Erie, Pennsylvania, which may not sound like the pizza capital of the world but at least 1/3 of the town was Italian and the food was spectacular. Mom and Pop joints on the corner where dad was waiting on the bar. Mom was in the kitchen cooking and the kids were waiting on the table. I love traveling to New York and getting a New York slice of pizza. I love traveling to Chicago and enjoying the variety of pizza Chicago offers and yes, I love Detroit and Detroit style pizza. There is so much variety and it can all be good however until finding Providence Pizza I have been stuck in a pizza desert in Kansas City with Kansas City, Italian culture and history. I've always been mystified by the lack of a Great Pizza Pl., Providence Pizza gives you variety and choices. You can have so many different styles with so many different toppings, and every one of them is spot on. I look forward to Providence Pizza becoming my new hunt in my new go to anytime I need to satisfy that pizza craving. By the way, talk about a throwback to the past Genesee Cream Ale who knew they were going to have that. Anyhow, I have found a new pizza home and I hope you try it soon.

I recently visited Providence Pizza in Grandview, MO, a spot that's been my absolute favorite for years due to their authentic Detroit-style pizzas with that perfect crispy edge and flavorful toppings, not to mention solid New York-style options. I've raved about them to friends and family, and they've always delivered a great experience. However, my latest trip was a real letdown, and I feel compelled to share this constructive feedback in hopes that they can course-correct and keep thriving, because I truly want them to stick around and return to their former glory. Let's start with the positives: The quality of the ingredients and the taste are still there, but unfortunately, several changes seem to have impacted the overall value and service drastically. First, pricing and portions have shifted in a way that feels unsustainable for customers. In July, a large Detroit-style pizza was a generous 12x17 inches for $30. Now, the "small" Detroit is priced at $21, I was told it was 8x10 inches yet when I saw them it seem impossible to be that big. Upon measuring the actual pizzas we received, they were only about 5x7 inches each. To break this down quantitatively: The original 12x17-inch Detroit had an area of 204 square inches. The actual size we got (5x7 inches) is just 35 square inches, representing an approximately 83% reduction in area (calculated as (204 - 35) / 204 × 100%). Even if it had been the advertised 8x10 (80 square inches), that would still be a 61% decrease from the old size. Price change: Nominally, the price dropped from $30 to $21, a 30% decrease. However, when accounting for the portion shrink, the cost per square inch has skyrocketed. Previously, it was about $0.15 per square inch ($30 / 204). Now, it's roughly $0.60 per square inch ($21 / 35), which is a staggering 308% increase in price per unit area ((0.60 - 0.15) / 0.15 × 100%). Our total bill came to $85 for those two tiny Detroits and the 20-inch NY, which felt exorbitant compared to July when $110 got us way more: two full salads, a 20-inch NY, a 16-inch NY, and the full-sized 12x17 Detroit. That's significantly less food for not much less money, making the value proposition tough to justify. Customer service has also taken a hit. The POS system failed to recognize my accumulated reward points, which was frustrating after being a loyal customer. Online ordering doesn't support customizations for Detroit-style pizzas, forcing us to call in. We tried three times and got voicemail each time before finally connecting on the fourth attempt, during what should be normal business hours and a slow Sunday night. Once we ordered, there was a mix-up: We specifically requested pesto on the side, but it was drizzled on top. These issues, higher effective prices, smaller portions, tech glitches, and service hiccups, made for a disappointing experience that I won't be repeating anytime soon unless things improve. Providence, you've got a great foundation with your recipes and roots, but please consider rolling back some of these changes, fixing the ordering systems, and ensuring consistency in portions and communication. Listen to your regulars; we want you to succeed and keep serving up that East Coast magic in Grandview! I'd love to come back and update this to five stars. First time here and I'm impressed! They have great lunch combos and their flavor options were great! They even had one with meat paired from Meat Mitch! Gotta love local supporting local! The crust was amazing on the neo style! We didn't try to Roman but looked good! The cheese was perfectly melted/bubbly and the crust was thin but crispy and the bones were chewy..had cornmeal in the bottom too so you know it was good! We will be back to try more! Their options for sizes are nice too for carry out

My sister and her husband are big pizza people (make their own, eat it out at the best places) and they found this place on Reddit while searching for "best pizza kc area." (We're from seattle.) Providence Pizza was awesome. None of us had any idea what to expect, and it's in Grandview, which is a pretty small suburb with not a lot going on (to my eye). It's not too big of a place. You order at the counter (can get slices or whole pies) and grab a number and sit down. We were a party of 10, and they were pretty chill at letting us move some tables together to accommodate, but it was fairly busy at 6:30 on a Thursday. They don't take reservations, so kind of luck of the draw if you're looking for seating. Seems like a lot of people did takeout and just came in to get their pizza and go. I'm vegan, and they have follow your heart vegan cheese as a topping option to either substitute on one of their pies or build-your-own. They have three types of pizza - New York thin crust, Detroit deep dish (bready crust with toasty cheese over the edges), and Sicilian (with the seeds on the bottom). I got the Detroit deep dish with red sauce, vegan cheese, fresh basil, and castelvratrano olives. It was SO good. And guess what -- it cost $11. This pizza in seattle would easily be $18. My high-standards pizza family also really enjoyed it, and got a ton of different pies. I think my sister said she liked the Sicilian the least. Everyone enjoyed the garlic knots appetizer (except me, bc they had cheese on them), and there's beer for purchase. Some people got salads and the portions were big (can order as a half or a whole). Will definitely be back when we visit our family in KC!

My new favorite pizza place in KC. Well run operation that you can see is a labor of love from the crew when you're there. The motor city pizza is as amazing as the pictures show. That dollop of ricotta is the perfect cutting of your pallette with the marinara and crust. Best Detroit pizza I've ever had. The Rezy was fantastic. The inside is light and airy, with a great crisp on the outside sesame bread. Loved the vodka sauce. I don't always love marinara. It can be too acid reflux inducing for me. Sometimes too acidic, other times too sweet. Their marinara is the perfect balance! Too many great choices, can't wait to try a few of the others on future visits.

Rhode Island Dough Boys...for sharing!!! These were excellent!

The pizza was great. The crust is so good. Only four stars because of the parking lot. Really odd parking spots that are very tight.

I went onto DoorDash as I'm known to do in these moments, picked out a pizza from one of our favorite spots, and the total was going to be over $50 to have ONE pizza delivered. Now, I know, we could just go get it, and I know places have to mark up to work with these third party delivery services so I get it. I still love the other places I usually order from, but on this night I just could not stomach that fee. I spent about 20 minutes on the app/internet seeing if I could find a local spot that would deliver to me for a reasonable rate and I found Southside Mafia. I'd heard great things about this local joint so I was honestly excited to check them out, and even more excited that my grand total came to around $35 with tip, which is honestly shocking. Now, it's a bit further away - not TOO far, but they did add on an extra dollar for the distance (fair), and I knew the pizza might not be piping hot (also fair). When it arrived it was still warm, and I'd describe it as a pub style pizza. It's the kind of pizza you'd find in a bar and devour amongst friends and a few beers. To me this means it's cheesy, loaded with toppings, and has a kind of mid crust. IMO it's not the BEST pizza in KC, but I liked it a lot, and loved that it was something a bit different, and extra loved that it was a reasonable rate to have delivered while still supporting a local business in KC. I think the overall pizza is four stars, but the whole experience for me was five stars and I'm sure we will order again sometime.
