This review is for the Marilou S. Edwards. Branch manager If it wasn't for Marilou's help I think I would've canceled my provident credit unions account. She is the reason why I am still a member and I will recommend all my friends and family to her and her store only. Down below is my story for the Daly City branch. I live in Daly City and the Provident store is 2 mins away from my house, but I refused to go there because of my last visit. I went to go get a Loan done and the teller ask me to fill out the paperwork and come back after 1 hour because the loan manager is on lunch and the time was 3:00pm. So I come back at 4:00pm and the teller tells me to wait because the loan manager is with another customer that has an appointment. Why would you tell me to come back at 4 when the loan manager already has a full schedule. So I asked if my paper was ever filled and the teller tells me "no". Pretty much wasted my time coming back. I request for my paperwork back and the loan manager and teller told me that I have to sit outside and wait till they are done and then I can have my paperwork back. What kind of service is that, you guys messed up and now you want me to wait because I want my paperwork back. read more

After listening to all of the wonderful advice from my coworkers, and after reading all of the great reviews from fellow Yelpers about Provident Credit Union, I decided to join this credit union two weeks ago....and it was the BEST decision I've ever made!! Bye bye Citibank!! 8/9/13: The customer service from the staff is exemplary. Always greeted with a smile by the staff, and always courteous to their members. The hours for the bank are great, and the bank is easy to get to. There is street parking and public lot parking available. The bank is also clean and presentable. I have had the opportunity with working with the Assistant Branch Manager, Edwin Estimo. He was so helpful with opening my bank accounts. He is very cordial, very down-to-earth, and very knowledgeable about the various services that Provident has to offer. I've used provident for the past couple of years and have loved them. I recently decided it was time to buy a car so I stopped by to apply for a used car loan. This being my first time, I had no idea what I was doing but MEUY made it suuuuuper painless and easily understandable. The rate I was offered was really good. I found a truck I wanted but the seller was located in walnut creek. Meuy did an awesome job of making sure all the correct paperwork was sent to the walnut creek branch. She stayed in constant contact with me to ensure I had all the correct info. It's rare that I give five star reviews in general and I never expected to be giving one to a financial institution, but these folks earned it. We are going to be doing a major remodel on our home and Provident came highly recommended by our Architect for their services, rates, and professional team. Working with Provident on the loan application process was much easier than I expected - even when we ran into some unforeseen circumstances. The staff was always helpful at every step. Getting our membership - this being a Credit Union, and not a bank - was painless as well, thanks to Shrawan, who walked us through it step by step. Everyone we've spoken to there was super helpful and I'm looking to transfer most of my every day banking needs over here. Trying to be complete - the branch office here is fairly small and located a bit in from the main street. Street parking should be adequate most of the time. They have a decent on-line banking system, though the UI can be a little awkward in places - not that it's a reflection on the great people who work at the branch! read more

This review is for the Marilou Edwards and the whole Millbrae Team: These guys and gals are awesome! I recently financed my dream sports car through Provident. After finalizing the paper work, I was absolutely ecstatic with the prospect of being able to pull off in a a vehicle which I have thought about for 10 years. Unfortunately, the vehicle still had a lien with another creditor (won't mention any names) and they totally butchered the operation. First, after the transaction was completed, they sent the title to the seller as opposed to Provident. Second, they sent the title to the seller's previous address! So essentially, they lost the title. Therefore, with no title, I couldn't get the car registered and therefore couldn't even drive the damn thing. Lucky for me I had Marilou on my side! Her and the team went well out of their way to physically go to the DMV and apply for a new title slip as well as temporary registration so I could drive the vehicle prior to plates arriving. This is a five-star review for Marilou Edwards, manager of the Millbrae Branch of Provident. I moved to Santa Rosa about 10 years ago, but have continued to bank with Provident (since 1986) as my mortgage, automatic deposits and withdrawals, online bill pay, etc etc are with this bank. I had a mandatory evacuation because of the Nuns fire on Oct 8, 2017 and left my house at 3:00AM with just my cat. I had recently changed my password to a much more complicated one, and managed to lock myself out of my account. In order to validate my password I was required to enter my social security number, my birthdate, etc. I refused to do this and was told by a young woman at Corporate that if I didn't comply, I would not have access to my account. A call to Marilou Edwards saved the day. It took her a while, but she was able to get me access to my account. Two days later, I got a call from Esean at Corporate, not apologizing, but agreeing with me that the requirement was ridiculous. So, thank you Marilou, for helping me. I wonder how safe our mortgage and accounts are when a bank insists that you post your private info online? read more

First bad impression, the workers at the Milbrae Branch dress like they just rolled out of bed. Guys, you work at a bank, try to look like it. Second bad impression, they lost the copy of my insurance record. Third bad impression, the putz handling my auto loan doesn't seem to know how to do an email attachment. I got spoken down to by this guy who seemed to think it was my fault. If it wasn't for my desire to save money, I would really have just canceled the whole thing and stuck with Capital One who knows organization.
