This was probably the best meal we had while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks…read more We had a day to explore the area and Grok (of all things/places) recommended visiting Victor and Driggs for the day. Kids had chicken tenders and the steak and fries. Both kids enjoyed their meal. The chicken tenders were huge and kid got 3 of them. The steak was about 5oz, which was a decent size for the kid. It came pre-cut, so the kiddo didn't have to handle a huge steak knife to cut it--which was nice. Both came with a generous serving of golden French fries. Fresh cut or frozen, these fries were good! Either a second ramekin of ketchup or a larger one is definitely needed for the amount of fries served. I had the burger. It wasn't fancy--just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions--but it was a thick patty with fluffy bun with lots of flavor. It also came with a ton of golden fries. My mom had the BLT that didn't skimp on the pork belly. I wish the stores sold thick cut bacon like that. She said it was delicious. Hubby had the lobster roll. The kids brought the purple potato chips were the neatest thing (they were good, too). The lobster roll was perfectly dressed--not too much and not too skimpy--and tasted surprisingly fresh. This place is a little more upscale than some of the other places we've eaten at this week. We were welcomed as we were--shorts and tees. Other guests were dressed casually, not overly fancy. The adjacent museum was a cool place to visit, too. It housed 3 restored Navy planes that were neat to see. Since we're headed home tomorrow, we won't be back, but if we were staying longer, we'd make the ~hour long drive just to eat there again!

I can see why this place has a high rating. The scenery is awesome and it's cool that it's…read moreconnected to a museum with old warbird planes and the menu has a nice variety of food. However, our food experience was also mixed. We shared a soup du jour (potato bacon broth based) which was awesome. Parmesan fries app came as a generous portion and were pretty good as was our elderberry mocktail. The big disappoint was the tandoori chicken which the waitress recommended but we found to be very dry. It was described on the menu as having a yogurt marinate, which was already mixed into the dish, but we couldn't really taste it. The tabouli/rice that came with it was also dry and didn't have much taste. The waitress was nice and tried to get more sauce but when she couldn't, she brought olive oil and vinegar which was ok but at that point I would have just liked something different as it was pretty mediocre. Forage is a nice restaurant with some nice options but you should expect to spend a fair amount. I would expect the fine dining experience quality to match the price, but we had enough good food here that I would come back to try something different.

This was our third summer in a row in the Daniel/Merna/Pinedale area but our first time giving GRB a try due to a few people saying the slaw dawg was good. The first night we arrived in Daniel I went in and a lady served me at the bar and she was attentive and somewhat friendly. A couple nights later I went back with my wife. Nan (the owner) was running the bar and cooking. Nan is hands down the sweetest lady we've met is Sublette County, and that's saying a lot as most everyone you meet in the Sublette County is super friendly. Nan will guide you through the menu, tell you about the area, and give you recommendations on things to do. She runs the place with a smile, even with the bar/restaurant being busy (and it does get busy). When we go back this winter, or next summer, we will definitely go to GRB a few times. My boys loved the Shirley temples and Roy rogers with a heaping handful of cherries! Please know that the building is over 100 years old and it looks old. But it's not dirty, I saw it being cleaned and mopped while we were there. Also keep in mind that it's a bar frequented by locals who support local business establishments and life long friends.

We quickly asked a few friends and made a reservation. I've seen The Barn when attending July 4th events on the property but had never peeked inside. Upon arriving, we were graciously welcomed as we entered through the door. The area had a small bar area and a moderate amount of tables. Now, for the odd thing.....there was a small golf shop in the restaurant. I know this is a summer golfing community but it should be partitioned away from the restaurant or better yet, moved completely out of the building. They had a very nice wine selection and the winter menu, although not extensive, certainly had a nice variety to choose from. Lucky for me, they had an evening special, Wild Caught Sea Bass. Drinks and bread were delivered fairly well paced. Our meal took about an hour, which felt like forever. Upon receiving the meal and trying it, oh it was so worth the wait. Presentation was absolutely beautiful and the taste, matched it's beauty. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Everyone in my party felt the same about their meal. Please keep in mind, I would definitely give The Barn a full five but unfortunately, dropped it to a four (would like it to be a 4 1/2) because of the service. Although it was very friendly, it was oddly paced and slow. Of course, it may have been an off night too. Regardless, I hope to return sooner than later. Very much worth it!
