This was probably the best meal we had while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We had a day to explore the area and Grok (of all things/places) recommended visiting Victor and Driggs for the day. Kids had chicken tenders and the steak and fries. Both kids enjoyed their meal. The chicken tenders were huge and kid got 3 of them. The steak was about 5oz, which was a decent size for the kid. It came pre-cut, so the kiddo didn't have to handle a huge steak knife to cut it--which was nice. Both came with a generous serving of golden French fries. Fresh cut or frozen, these fries were good! Either a second ramekin of ketchup or a larger one is definitely needed for the amount of fries served. I had the burger. It wasn't fancy--just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions--but it was a thick patty with fluffy bun with lots of flavor. It also came with a ton of golden fries. My mom had the BLT that didn't skimp on the pork belly. I wish the stores sold thick cut bacon like that. She said it was delicious. Hubby had the lobster roll. The kids brought the purple potato chips were the neatest thing (they were good, too). The lobster roll was perfectly dressed--not too much and not too skimpy--and tasted surprisingly fresh. This place is a little more upscale than some of the other places we've eaten at this week. We were welcomed as we were--shorts and tees. Other guests were dressed casually, not overly fancy. The adjacent museum was a cool place to visit, too. It housed 3 restored Navy planes that were neat to see. Since we're headed home tomorrow, we won't be back, but if we were staying longer, we'd make the ~hour long drive just to eat there again! read more

I can see why this place has a high rating. The scenery is awesome and it's cool that it's connected to a museum with old warbird planes and the menu has a nice variety of food. However, our food experience was also mixed. We shared a soup du jour (potato bacon broth based) which was awesome. Parmesan fries app came as a generous portion and were pretty good as was our elderberry mocktail. The big disappoint was the tandoori chicken which the waitress recommended but we found to be very dry. It was described on the menu as having a yogurt marinate, which was already mixed into the dish, but we couldn't really taste it. The tabouli/rice that came with it was also dry and didn't have much taste. The waitress was nice and tried to get more sauce but when she couldn't, she brought olive oil and vinegar which was ok but at that point I would have just liked something different as it was pretty mediocre. Forage is a nice restaurant with some nice options but you should expect to spend a fair amount. I would expect the fine dining experience quality to match the price, but we had enough good food here that I would come back to try something different. read more

Yes, you can get a nice meal at an airport hangar-and Forage Bistro will prove that to you. It's a full service, sit down joint that has a lounge feeling and incredible views of the planes. You can watch them take off and land from your table. Service was kind-welcoming and a little subdued. The food was just ok. My salad wasn't the most attractive thing I've eaten and the flavor was just ok. If I return, I'd likely order something different. At first I dismissed this restaurant because it was at the airport, but a friend encouraged me to go. I was traveling solo and I didn't want to overspend, so I opted for a happy hour visit and I couldn't have been happier! I started with a margarita and then ordered a meal consisting of creamy tomato soup, a burger and a draft IPA. The food was excellent and so was the service. Had one of the best hamburgers I've had in a while with an amazing beef stroganoff soup. Good prices too as it was happy hour (everyday between 3:00 - 5:00 pm). The food here is farm to table. Great place and happy to check it out while visiting. Get a reservation if possible as it's always busy and fairly small inside. It's cozy and nice inside and everyone really friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine and cocktails. Tried the ginger and huckleberry and wish the huckleberry flavor would have come thru more. For food we started with the garlic bruschetta and wild boar stew. Both were great with flavor, texture, and portion. My main was the special of the day, seabass. It came out cool-chilled and fish didn't feel completely cooked, didn't flake away, and couldn't cut thru it. They told me that's how it's supposed to be. I asked them to cook it more as I was worried it was slightly too raw. They kindly did and was perfect when it was brought back. Noodles under the fish were hot this time as well and fish was cooked, flaky, and glistening. Portions were pretty filling but had room for dessert. We tried the chocolate one (can't remember what it was called) and was amazing. It was my favorite thing to eat of the night. The staff were amazing. That said I felt like the cauliflower app was too salty and the butternut squash risotto too heavy on the parsnip so I couldn't even taste the butternut squash :(. Our absolute favorite restaurant when visiting. This was our 3rd time dining, 1st time at their new location. The food was fantastic as usual. My wife and I had a little bit of everything. There was nothing bad. We went early so it wasn't too busy. We got amazing service as well. Our waitress was super nice and took great care of us. I wish I could remember her name to give credit, but we remember her pesto backpacking story. Hopefully she sees this. This restaurant is the bomb! The service was great. We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to squeeze us in on the bar. Sitting there gave us the opportunity to watch the chef at work. It also provided us an opportunity to see all the magnificent dishes being created. They all looked and smelled great! We ordered the brisket sliders and the tenderloins. Both were delicious, but the tenderloins were to die for! Visiting some family in Driggs, we decided to pop into Forage for a last minute dinner. We didn't have reservations, but they were happy to work with us to grab a four top in their outdoor patio area. We got a bottle of the house red, Spanish I believe, for around $35. A personal pet peeve of mine, is fine dining that doesn't offer some kind of bread/starch with the meal. Of course they want to sell an appetizer or two, but sometimes it's just nice to have a little artisan bread to nibble on with your wine. But that doesn't affect the food! Speaking of, I was torn between the veggie lasagna and the handmade meatballs with creamy polenta and pistachios. The server mentioned she was a vegetarian, so couldn't offer an opinion of the meatballs, but her friends who were in town that week both got them and raved. That was good enough for me. The meatballs were really, really good. Tender, with a savory sauce on top, sat on creamy polenta and crushed pistachios. It was a really good play on savory + salty + sweet in each bite. It was a bit on the small side. So if you're hungry, you may want to get Into a soup or salad on the front end. The price point was probably a little higher than it felt like it should have been, but when you're the best fine dining option in a little bedroom town like Driggs, you can get away with it. I would absolutely return here, as the food and service were both top tier. Especially for that area. The price point makes it a once in a while place, not an every other week spot. At least for my budget. Regardless, if you find yourself in Driggs and want the best the town has to offer, I'd suggest you give the folks at Forage a try. I think you'll be glad you did. read more

We were excited to come here but were extremely let down. We ordered a steak to split and it came not split. Not a big deal, we can do that ourselves! The waitress said she would remove the fee. When we cut into our medium rare steak it was actually cooked well. We waited 30 minutes to find our waitress and ask for it fixed but she never came so we flagged down the hostess. They took our steak and maybe 10 minutes later came back with the manager and explained how the meal was not replaceable. We received no apology. They set down a cold steak and offered a discount at best. (10 off of our $300 meal) Our bill came and we received a fee for the split of the overcooked cold steak sat down on our table. When we approached the manager saying an apology would have gone a long way she said she was sorry we felt it was cooked wrong. It was obviously overcooked and we are obviously not coming back here. This was our first visit to Forage after their move to the old Warbirds location at the Driggs airport. The service was great, until it wasn't. Overall I was disappointed in our experience. I think the true gem here is their Happy Hour but it's short, only 3-5 daily. Their HH menu has decent offerings for good and drink and brings the prices down from the stratosphere to a more reasonable level. My wife was interested in the Salmon and asked a question about their sourcing. She was told "it's wild caught Norwegian Salmon." Ain't no such thing folks...all Norwegian Salmon is farmed. Given the price we paid our waitress should have known better. I paid $27 for their hamburger/ fries. They tried way too hard on this monstrosity. It was not well executed. Just give me a properly cooked, high quality beef burger that is properly cooked. Speaking of, the expression "died at the pass" definately applied to our meal. The salmon came out cold, and my burger came out overcooked and the fries were cold. Inexcusable at these prices. Not going back for dinner anytime soon but will be trying the Happy Hour. They really knocked it out of the ballpark this time (again!). Every bite was beyond delicious. The lions mane mushroom miso zucchini ribbon dish was absolutely fantastic. Also the pierogies were to die for. And the special of the day scallops were melt in your mouth delicious. Bring your own to go containers to avoid all the waste. Probably the best and most gourmet spot you'll found around these parts. The food is well prepared with high-quality ingredients, artfully plated, and I think could hold its own even in larger, more foodie-centric markets. The venue is small, but we felt appropriately distanced since there were only a handful of other diners when we arrived for our dinner reservation. Our waiter was excellent, masked up at all times, attentive to our drink/food needs, and pleasant to chat with. We first shared the House Pierogi and Forage Dip Trio. The former, which consisted of little doughy pockets stuffed with local potato and served with these incredible sauteed shiitake mushrooms, green onions, sour cream, and dill was probably our favorite dish of the entire meal. Just a perfect combination of flavors and textures. The Dips were hit-or-miss. The Roasted Beet dip served with crunchy cucumbers was nice but fairly standard. The Miso Yam dip was more adventurous, sweet, salty, and rather bitter on the back end. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. The Eggplant dip wasn't especially memorable but came with the best toasted sesame chips. In terms of main course, I went with the Paella-stuffed Calamari. If I had known how olive-forward the dish would be, I would have chosen something else, since I am not a fan of the briny abominations. But that's on me. The squid itself was a touch overcooked as well, and I would only recommend going for this dish if you have a high tolerance for a sour flavor profile. I did try a bite from the other dishes on the table, and they were darn good, particularly the Pan-seared Ribeye, which proved me wrong in thinking that there's no way it was worth paying $36 for steak at a restaurant. The Quail & Waffle was a peculiar dish that plays with sweet and savory, breakfast-like flavors, but it ultimately works and the meat was nice and crispy. I respect that Forage pushes itself into a creative, non-traditional space rather than spitting out pedestrian fare that caters to the least common denominator. Some dishes worked well, others less so, but it was a solid restaurant experience that paired exceptionally well with some local beer. read more

The buffalo ribeye is in the top 3 steaks I've ever had in my life, and I was hesitant because buffalo is leaner, and I like a fattier steak, but I cannot begin to tell you how good it was, it was very peppery just so you're aware, but it was amazing. The watermelon salad was ok, my wife liked it over the duck sausage and squash dish, which I preferred more. She had the wagyu burger and liked it, the ketchup that comes with it is a little different, by itself I wouldn't recommend it, but on the burger it worked amazingly well. The prices reflect the quality of the establishment, and make sure you make a reservation, they can get very busy. We will definitely come back when we are in the area, and we would make the trek from Jackson to Victor JUST for this place. I HIGHLY recommend Forage. read more

I'm a little baffled by the high ratings here. The service was friendly and warm, so 5 stars for that. The wine list was brief but well-considered. The food was 1-2 stars max. The crab cakes had no crab and were just fried corn meal. Kinda insulting to spend 20 bucks on dressed up falafel. The stuffed avocado had what were clearly canned green beans, and gelatinous octopus. The meatballs were fantastic though. Go figure, the meatballs saved the day, of all the courses. Came here for a later dinner on Tuesday night and was blown away by the incredible dishes and well as the service. Although the restaurant is small, it did not feel overcrowded. The atmosphere is quaint and beautifully decorated which added a nice touch. My mom and I split the carrot salad and sirloin and both were incredible. We also got some Pinot noir that paired well with our meals. We ended the night with some creme brûlée and were both impressed with the flavor and texture. Unfortunately I cannot remember our servers name but she was extremely attentive and friendly. The only thing is because this restaurant is quite popular you definitely need a reservation! Since we were on our honeymoon (to Jackson Hole, but staying in Driggs), I had it in my mind to have at least one nice dinner out. Don't get me wrong, Driggs is a great little town, but it's just that... little. I didn't expect to find such a nice restaurant with superb food. We started with Crab Fritters with summer corn, Fresno chili and lemon saffron aioli. They were fresh, crisp, crabby and wonderful! The lemon saffron aioli was like nothing I've ever had. I got the filet mignon with twice baked potatoes, oyster mushrooms and chimichurri. Every bite of the steak was heaven! Tender, flavorful, perfect amount of char/crust on outer, yet tender and just right on the inside. If you're in Driggs, do yourself a favor and go eat at Forage!!! read more
