Like most families navigating dementia, our top priority was stability and the best care possible. We made it very clear during the admission process that he often urinates on the floor. According to our research, this is a common reality in dementia care. We asked directly what circumstances could lead to discharge, and we understood that aggression would be the primary concern. Our dad has never shown aggression toward staff or residents and is, in our experience, well-liked by those who interact with him. During his stay, he was involved in two separate incidents where another resident struck him. Even in those situations, he did not respond with aggression. Despite this, within a short period of time, we were given a 30-day discharge notice related to the same behaviors we disclosed upfront and believed would be manageable. We also have serious concerns about the level of care and safety during his stay. Our dad experienced two falls requiring ER visits and facial stitches--despite no prior history of falls before admission. The most serious incident, as it was described to us, occurred after he wet the bed overnight. We were told he was assisted into the bathroom and left unattended while staff retrieved supplies, and was later found on the shower floor, bloody with significant injuries requiring emergency medical care. Based on what we were told, leaving a cognitively impaired resident unattended in that setting raises significant safety concerns. We attempted to work collaboratively with administration to address his incontinence, only to be told that this behavior had only been seen once or twice in the past six years, which was surprising to us given our understanding of dementia-related symptoms. To have a facility accept a resident with full knowledge of their needs, indicate those needs could be managed, and then later discharge him for those same issues was deeply disappointing. The impact is not just logistical--it is personal. Uprooting someone with dementia can lead to confusion, regression, and emotional distress that is difficult to reverse. Families depend on honesty, experience, and consistency when placing a loved one in memory care. That was not our experience.

I love Kindell in Activities. She is one of the kindest and caring People I know. She Plans the best outings, crafts and other activities. She's as sweet as her southern drawl. Ashlyn is also another great employee there. She is a very compassionate individual. All of the kitchen staff are wonderful, helpful and caring. Nurse Alissa is another one of the great employees there. There's also Heidi, Lola, Alecia, Parker, Macee. Isabelle, Amber, Shaylee, Micah, Ashland, Kandace and many more who are all an asset to Ashford along with the rest Of the staff. They love the residents. I can't forget Erin at the front desk. She always offers a warm greeting and lots of love.

I went to the Orem Community Hospital Emergency Room yesterday morning at the request of my dentist…read morebecause I have a severely infected tooth, a visibly huge and swollen cheek, and so much pain, OTC meds weren't touching it so I was forced to take my back pain meds (which still didn't take the pain away,) as well as a fever of 103.4 earlier in the morning. My dentist thought I should go to the ER for IV antibiotics for fear that my tooth infection had turned into something much more serious because the antibiotics he gave me weren't working. The admitting person was a sweetheart as was the male nurse; both compassionate, empathetic, and kind. The doctor came in and made me feel foolish and idiotic for going to the ER for 'simple' tooth pain, actually pulling faces at the mention of a dentist sending someone to the ER, and rolling her eyes. THEN, when she seemingly, finally decided to figure out exactly what was going on, she sat down in front of me and said, "Hon, tell me what is going on. How did this happen?" All I could think was, are you serious?? I mean look at my ginormous, pink cheek, lady!! She talked to me as if I were a child and was extremely condescending. I just felt stupid and wanted to leave and go to a different ER but I had an IV at that point (for blood tests, mind you, not antibiotics). Then she sent me in for CT scans of my face to make certain that the infection hadn't spread anywhere dangerous, finally taking my issue seriously. She didn't give me the IV antibiotics for the severe infection, she simply 'upped' my antibiotic (from the one the dentist gave me) to a stronger one. How hard would it have been to simply give me even just a injection of stronger antibiotics?? Or better still, through the IV that was already in my arm?!? Then, she numbed my tooth to take away some of the pain, which it did, for about 30 minutes when the pain came back with a vengeance. I feel like the doctor didn't like being told what to do from a measly dentist, or God forbid, me, and didn't do the antibiotics out of sheer stubbornness and pride. No, I did not go to medical school, I am not a doctor and will not pretend to know how to heal someone in the way a doctor can. I do know my body and knew something was wrong. I also know empathy, which this doctor didn't seem to posses, nor, really, did the female nurse who just acted like it was an inconvenience for me to be there. I went to this ER with the hopes of having some relief from my pain and severe infection. I left feeling stupid for going in the first place. There was no empathy, compassion, or even patience from this doctor. I know there are other doctors working at the Orem Community Hospital's ER, some with likely more empathy than was shown me, but I will *never* chance that again. I will drive the extra several miles to AF Hospital's ER where they are kind, respectful, and even humble enough to listen.

They didn't ask after either. I got a statement in the mail with a paystub and a return envelope. I made a payment(what I could). I am on social security with no other income. The next month I got another statement, made the same payment, did this for 4 months then SLAM. They SLAMMED me into collections for the rest. No notice to call, no call, nothing said letting me know the payments I made were not good enough or that I needed to call, nothing just SLAM me into collections, granted my fico score is in the toilet anyway and I don't care because I pay cash for everything. I will never use this facility for anything ever again.

They' all have offered us a snack or drink. X-rays went well and the exam room was decorated cute and clean. Underwater themed. The technician was friendly and gentle with my daughter. The only thing I didn't appreciate is the Covid tested my daughter without asking and that has never happened to us before usually it's asked first. Plenty of parking.

I had an awful experience at Reverse Health Urgent Care in Saratoga Springs, Utah. In October, I…read moretook my 3-year-old son there for a second opinion after he was diagnosed with croup at another urgent care. Instead of carefully evaluating him, the doctor dismissed any attempt to diagnose and immediately used terrifying language, telling us our "baby could crash" and urgently needed an ambulance to the ER. This was completely unnecessary and panic-inducing. When we got to the ER, the doctor told us it was just a mild case of croup. They gave him a steroid and sent us home--simple as that. But thanks to Reverse Health's scare tactics, we were left with a $1,000+ ER bill. To make matters worse, Reverse Health told me they would waive the visit fee, but they charged me anyway. When I received the bill, I tried to dispute it, but every time I called, I was transferred and promised a call back from someone in charge. That call never came. I had to keep following up, and to this day, no one has reached out. Even though my insurance covered most of it, the $25 I was left to pay feels like a bigger issue--if they can't honor their word on something that small, how can I trust them with anything more important? This place is disorganized and unprofessional. I wouldn't trust them with my family's care again. Go somewhere else.
