I got the most amazing beautiful boquet of flowers yesterday delivered to me at work. And yes, I did blush. And I was embarrassed in the lunch room. Guys, if you want to knock your girl's socks off and make her feel like she is on cloud nine, order her some flowers from Prudence Designs on a Monday so she can display them proudly on her desk all week while everyone who walks by just has to ask- who gave her the flowers? I got my flowers on a friday afternoon so here they are sitting on my desk at home staring at me in the face. The scent/pollen only made me sneeze twice yesterday at work. Allergies aside, I love everything about them. The flowers are a beautiful spring like mix of orangey-pink roses, gerbera daisies, ORCHIDS!, and ranunculus. The orchids and gerbera daisies are my absolute favorite flower and if you didn't know what ranunculus looks like, think of a miniature peony. The flowers are arranged in a chinese take out box wrapped in lime green tissue and cellophane. I love the take out box because I don't have to put the flowers in a vase. They're stuffed into a moist sponge cake. The flowers are also dressed up in lemon leaf. Thank god it's not baby's breath. Those are just fillers. This is an arrangement with class. I went on the website to check out Prudence and I guess they do floral arrangements for parties as well. Can we say Oscar worthy? Pretty sweet. I love high end NYC. I also love the daschund motif of Prudence. It reminds me of my friend's dog Maggie. Prudence Designs gets five stars alone just based on the arrangement. They're a company with style, grace, creativity, and passion. I'll be commissioning them for my next big event. read more

Is Prudence the best floral design shop in NYC? Probably. We used to live right next to their shop and I would stop by on the spur of the moment whenever I felt like giving flowers to someone, and Arturo would make me a little bouquet from what he had in the shop and each bouquet was exquisite. Yes they do a lot of high end stuff for celebrities, but for me, with a limited budget, Arturo would pull something unbelievably beautiful together, and always with a smile. I used to bring little bonsai vases and Japanese orchid pots we weren't using just to say thank you. Love this place and the people who run it, especially Arturo. read more

I am a long time customer (or perhaps 'groupie' is more appropriate) of Prudence, and their previous home was just around the corner from my home. When it was time to plan our wedding there was literally no one else we would even consider to help us with the event. Grayson and Arturo are artists. They are more than just creative - they are unique. Of course, their arrangements are always beautiful, and tasteful, but more importantly, they are unexpected and a surprise, somehow always perfect for the occasion. Their works are not just arrangements of various flowers and plants, they are marriages, themselves; Marriages of color, of texture, of variety and diverse creations, that compel whatever emotion one hopes to create. Here is a true story and most extraordinary example of their experience. Only 3 days before our wedding date the venue we reserved, which was a massive white box loft, lost their air conditioning, and we were forced to scramble and change locations to an opposite sensibility: a darkly wooded, dramatic bar. Somehow these magicians adapted their initial scheme, and brought a much needed lightness, joy and still drama, into the new rooms. Their arrangements created a shining of their own, and brought a sensitivity and style much needed for us to feel surrounded by flowering life and love. There are not enough stars in the sky (or in this review rating) to equal the exceptional designs and originality of Prudence. Recently I hosted a wedding shower at The Nomad, and I wanted to find a creative florist to make a series of beautiful, out of the ordinary floral arrangements to fill the space of a very long table. The hotel recommended a few florists, including Prudence. After speaking with Arturo and Grayson, I chose Prudence Designs and I am thrilled that I did. They did an absolutely gorgeous job, exceeding all of my expectations. The arrangements were stunning - the flowers were exceptional and they very generously used very expensive flowers without an upcharge to me. The arrangements were so remarkable that everyone commented on them - they were simply exquisite. The other thing I would like to mention is that they were delightful to work with. Initially, I contacted another of the recommended florists, but the difference was like night and day. Grayson and Arturo were so easy, warm, fun and helpful. They also have impeccable taste. I felt confident they would take care of everything effortlessly and they did. In New York, it is hard to find wonderful vendors who are priced reasonably and who do fantastic work, AND who are friendly, warm and genuinely helpful! Prudence Designs is literally the BEST. They did the flowers for my wedding at The Park Hyatt in NYC and it was everything I could have wanted and more. I had a very specify vision of what I wanted it to look like - all cherry blossoms and cherry blossom chuppah (which was absolutely exquisite) - and they executed my vision to perfection. They just totally got it. I did not need to have bunch of back and forth throughout the process which was super welcome as there are so many things to do while planning a wedding, it made the flowers something really easy which was so refreshing. Especially since they were so important to me in terms of the look and feel of the event in general.
