You'll find a Safeway (which has a UPS depot inside), a fabulous Jewelry Store at Country Jewelers, a CVS, a massage place, a fitness place and one of the friendliest Wells Fargo Banks around. It doesn't matter what time of day you go or to what store ...the entire plaza looks like a trash dump. In front of VONS and the cleaners and the bank the trash cans are always overflowing and there is trash blowing all over the lawn and sidewalks. I don't understand how anybody who owns a business in there can walk into their store and walk by all the trash and not do something about it. I have taken my business elsewhere. It's starting to look like downtown Santa Cruz.

***Overall 3.75***…read more As far as malls go, this mall in Salinas is up my alley because it's not too big (like the one in Santa Clara!), not too small or empty (like the one in Capitola and many seaside ones), and not super riddled with high end stores where I end up window-shopping and don't actually buy anything. Northridge Mall has the stores I like and also has eateries too. There is plenty of parking, cute holiday decor, and a HUUUGE entertainment area (arcade, bowling), including the largest room with claw machines I had ever seen in my life! This is sadly the era of "shopping mall deaths" with everyone veering towards online shopping, so I am glad to see Northridge Mall populated with stores and doing well. I hope it sticks around.

The first time they told me children weren't allowed and then, most recently, they told my mother-in-law that they were going on lunch at 3 PM, and the kids had to leave, but then they never closed the store. This unwelcoming attitude doesn't build a strong buy local community. This is discrimination and it should not be tolerated in our downtown Salinas community. It is really disheartening that this kind of behavior is occurring.
