They called me back immediately after I sent a request for an estimate. These guys are very personable and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. They were very patient and understand my stress moving to a new city. After setting a date and time, they called a couple of times to re-confirm and always kept in contact with me. Although they arrived late due to the truck not being available on time (and because they are coming from Buffalo), they called me to let me know their ETA. They treated my belongings as their own. Jade was so kind to double wrap my medical degree when he realized that it did not have enough protection before placing in the truck. Scott and Jade work very well together and did an efficient and speedy job getting my two bedroom worth of belongings into the truck. They then drove to Pittsburgh same day and unpacked my things into the rooms designated. They had a grueling day which did not finish until 9 pm in Pittsburgh but they were professional and always had a positive attitude. I very much enjoyed having them moving my belongings, and I am very pleased with their work. I have endorsed them to other colleagues of mine who are looking for movers, and one of them hired Scott and Jade for later in the week. We needed 5 items moved 13 miles out of our old house and into the new. I went on Yelp and put in…read morewhat I needed to have done. Yelp sent out the request and I received 3 contacts. Bright Homes was what seemed to be the most reasonable. Jessie came over, we discussed what needed to be done and gave him a $250 deposit with no mention of it being non-refundable either verbally or in writing. A few days before the scheduled date we found we were unable to have the work done on that date so we called to reschedule. At that time, we were told that there was and $85 rescheduling fee which was never discussed or disclosed either verbally and especially not in writing. After much back and forth, it was lowered to $55 and we rescheduled. 2 days before the scheduled date, I received a call and Jessie told me that they were having a special that would reduce to cost of the move by $25 if at least 50% of the cost was paid in advance. Something didn't sound right so we did not pay anything more. At that point, I should have cancelled but I unfortunately didn't. We were told that on the day of the move they would be at our old house at 9:30. A little before 10, since they hadn't arrived & I received no call, I called to see what was going on. Jessie told me that the job that they were on was running a little over but they were finishing up and would be with us in about 20 minutes. A little before 11, I called again and was told that they were on their way and would be there soon. A little before noon, I called and left a message that we would be going to file a police complaint for fraud. Just passed noon, I tried to call again several times but all I got was the Verizon message that "your call cannot be completed as dialed." At that point we decided that it was time for the police. While at the police station, I received a call from Jessie apologizing for not answering saying that there were in Lewiston finishing up the job and there was no cell service there. It might have been believable but the number has was calling from was different from the other he used earlier in the day. About 45 minutes later, the officer I was dealing with called the last number that I received a call from. Jessie answered and told the officer that they were in Lewiston but had just finished the job there and would be at our house in 20 minutes. He told the officer that we were previously scheduled (true) and that he worked with us when we had to reschedule (true but no mention of a rescheduling fee). I told the officer that under no circumstances did I want him anywhere near our house and wanted my deposit back. He told the officer that it was non-refundable. The officer told him he needed to see it in writing. Jessie offered $100. The officer told him it had to be a gesture of at least half, in cash at the precinct. Jessie again told the officer that they were still able to do the job and were on their way but I said no way. The $125 was delivered as promised but it was a business gesture not a settlement. In closing, AVOID this company even if they are the only option available. They are unreliable, consistently lie, think communication is unnecessary and should be either put out of business or arrested.
