From the very first moment, she welcomed me with a smile and treated me with so much kindness and respect that I honestly felt like I was visiting family instead of shopping in a store. She took the time to answer all of my questions, never rushed me, and made sure I found exactly what I needed. Thanks to her, I purchased a beautiful 10-cubic-foot refrigerator in excellent, like-new condition for only $150. I returned today to pick it up, and everything was exactly as promised. The washer and dryer have worked perfectly, so I want to be fair and give credit where it's due. Unfortunately, the refrigerator has been a completely different experience. The refrigerator came with problems from the beginning. I have not been able to properly use the ice maker or water dispenser, and when the water dispenser is used, water leaks inside the refrigerator. From what I understand, it is a relatively small part that needs to be replaced to fix the issue. The ice maker was especially important to me because I had recently undergone knee surgery and genuinely needed the ice during my recovery. So this wasn't just a minor inconvenience for me. I also went out of my way to make this purchase work. I picked up the appliances myself specifically to avoid the $150 delivery fee. For the amount of money I paid for this refrigerator, I expected it to arrive in working condition. What has made this experience even worse is the customer service. I have reached out many times trying to get help, and I have been hung up on multiple times when calling. I've tried to be patient and reasonable, but it's incredibly frustrating when you're the customer who already paid and can't even get someone to properly communicate with you. Because I wasn't getting the help I needed, I eventually ordered the replacement part myself (150$) from Amazon just to try to speed up the process and get my refrigerator working. I shouldn't have had to do that, especially since I understood the refrigerator to be covered by a one-year in-store warranty and a three-year manufacturer warranty. Even after purchasing the part myself, I reached out to the owner directly and asked if they could simply install it for me. I have now been left on read. Before purchasing here, I actually read the reviews and saw some of the negative experiences people had. I still decided to give this business a chance because I wanted to support a small business instead of going to a traditional appliance store. I genuinely wanted to support them and give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. The washer and dryer work great, and I have no complaints about those. But unfortunately, that doesn't make up for how this refrigerator situation has been handled. Seven months is an unacceptable amount of time to be dealing with an issue that should have been addressed shortly after purchase. I paid good money for this refrigerator. I picked up the appliances myself to save them the $150 delivery fee. I repeatedly contacted them for help. When I couldn't get the help I needed, I bought the part myself. I even asked the owner to install the part and I'm still being ignored. I wanted to support a small business. Instead, I feel like once they had my money, I was no longer a priority. And he'll tell you just what he thinks of the city of Long Beach, and how he still busts his balls working after 30 years in business. And, finally, he'll tell you if your dryer is worth repairing. My wasn't, but I was in luck - he has a warehouse chock FULL of dryers he repaired himself. Now, this may sound shady, but I'm pretty sure it's fully legit. Mostly relatively late model dryers for $150-$200(he's also got refrigerators and some washers - not sure 'bout the price on those). Other folks on CL sell dryers for the same price, but I tell you what, they don't come with the one year James warranty, no siree. The dryer was delivered and installed the same day, and works like a charm all for just about $200. ...next time I'm wearing *real clothes* and not a dingy old KROQ shirt, I've got grumpy ol' James to thank.
