Reliable does not properly describe this company enough! They are reliable yes, but they're always honest, trustworthy, and honorable! When was the last time you worked with a blue collar company or individual and felt that much character from your first phone call and interaction? I called them in regard to having issues with my dryer not starting and they arrived within 30 mins! Diagnosed my issue within the hour and told me they would reschedule as soon as the part needed arrived... and they did just that. I also added a lint trap cleaning and the price was crazy reasonable I had to leave a tip on top. I am a total gal and could've been ripped off as I don't know anything about fixing appliances but they really helped me out, didn't mansplain, and I honestly felt like my uncles and aunt were just doing me a solid. Less than 20 minutes after arriving, the technician told me the entire suspension system needed to be replaced at a cost of over $600, and advised that it would be better to simply purchase a new washer. I questioned how the suspension could be the cause of the grinding noise when the drum was not even spinning. He responded by stating that suspension failure was a "common issue" with these machines, but did not provide a clear explanation. Since a new washer would cost approximately $800-$900, I declined the repair and reluctantly paid the $100 diagnostic fee. I would also like to note that the technician did not put on shoe covers or ask whether I wanted him to remove his shoes before entering my home, which I consider unprofessional. After he left, the diagnosis did not sit right with me. I am mechanically inclined and only called for service due to time constraints. Using a YouTube guide, I disassembled the washer myself. Within 20 minutes, I identified the actual cause of the failure: the plastic drive flange attached to the splined motor shaft was completely stripped. I went to a local appliance parts store and purchased the replacement part for $32. I also inspected the suspension rods, which I had been told would be a "really big job" to replace. The parts store confirmed that if the drum returns to position without excessive bouncing, the suspension is fine--which it was. This directly contradicted the technician's diagnosis. Today, I contacted Reliable Appliance Service and requested to speak with a supervisor. A representative named Vince returned my call. I explained the situation and requested a refund of the $100 diagnostic fee, as the diagnosis was clearly incorrect. Had I approved the recommended repair, I would have spent over $600 and the washer would still have been broken. Vince refused the refund and stood by the technician's diagnosis. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. The technician's assessment was inaccurate, the explanation was weak, and the refusal to acknowledge a clear error shows poor customer service. It appears their business model relies on providing inflated repair estimates close to the cost of replacement, knowing most customers will decline while still collecting the diagnostic fee. The guy came, started to check clothes dryer and told my husband basically not to watch him working, that he would let him know when he was done. Then when he was done he said it would cost almost $700 for changing a belt and ball bearings. I was shocked at price, because I could get a new dryer for that price. This company is NOT reliable!!! I had a tech come out to see why my washer was shaking when it went on the spin cycle so he charged me 99.99 to give me a quote so he tells me that the basket has to be replaced and it would cost 900.00 to replace it so I figured I might as well buy a new one keep in mind that The washer was working fine when he got here cuz we used it that morning it was just the shaking, next morning we go to use it to wash a small load and the lid locked sensor was flashing and it didn't go on so I called the company to see if the tech could come back so he could connect whatever he disconnected he was extremely rude and told me he didn't do anything to it and if he came back I would have to pay him another 99.99 so I asked to speak to his supervisor and he was just as rude as the tech he yelled at me and said they did nothing wrong even when I told him it was working fine before the tech looked at it...come to find out that the tech forced the lid open and broke the peice that locks the lid then I find out that the price he gave me for the basket was only 250.00 to his 600.00 and a 300.00 Labor fee talk about sticking it to a senior citizen on social security but that's what they feed off of old people who believe everything they say and then when there confronted they start yelling and getting upset for their mistakes... DO NOT USE! I paid $300 for them to fix my ice maker. The ice maker is still not working. Initial diagnosis is the thermostat. According to the tech, after 13hrs, it should start making ice. Fast forward 13 and some hours later, still no ice. The tech came back the next day. Now, ice maker itself needs to be replaced, now they're asking for $300 including $200 labor fee! I called the supervisor. Solution: option A: "we will refund you $200 out of the $300 you have paid and remove the new thermostat we placed and Put back the old one." Option 2: "replace the ice maker and we will give you $50 off. but you have to pay $250." Paid $300 and Ice maker still not working. DO NOT USE! read more
