Daniel Sharer was seeing my boyfriend and I. After about 5 sessions he said he didn't know what else to do with us. If we gave up on ourselves as easily as he gave up on us we would be in a lot of trouble! What kind of therapist is that?! My son has been going to PsyCare now for several months (the Del Mar location) we have seen both Dr Dreyfus and Dr Panter. Both have been great. My son sees Dr Panter more often as she is a therapist and she has been wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone. I got banned from all PsyCare because my ex psychiatrist was BEYOND disrespectful so I got upset and walked away and cursed. I know I shouldn't have cussed but SHE was HARASSING me. No one ever asked me anything, they just took her word for it and prohibited me from seeing anyone else at all. Extremely unprofessional. I was ridiculously distraught because of the treatment I received. They're supposed to be there to help you but she honestly just made it worse for me. read more

Psycare provider Dr. Parthasarathy abandoned our child in the midst of treatment. Dr. Parthasarathy saw our teenage son for several months, and determined that he needed more specialized care. However, our insurance didn't cover the recommended services. An ethical doctor would contact the insurance company to advocate for the recommended care, and help shepherd the case to the next provider. Instead, Dr. Parthasarathy abandoned our son, sending a form letter notifying us that he and the counselor had terminated their services, effective immediately. Now, instead of a higher level of care, our son has NO regular mental health provider and no way to fill his prescription. If you want comprehensive care from a doctor who will go to bat for you or your loved one, don't go to Dr. Parthasarathy. read more

I am absolutely sickened about what just happened to me. I have waited upwards of 3 weeks to see a Psychiatrist (Shout out to Dr. Kennedy you are garbage! And a garbage person!) I am desperate for help. I've been waiting for this appointment. I have been in there 2-3 times seeing the amazing Jessica Wallace (she is a therapist and is wonderful sweet and overall caring) this has nothing to do with her. Not a single time that I've been in the past 3 times in the past 3 weeks was paperwork for my psychiatrist appointment EVER mentioned. Never! The only thing you get from the front office staff is a frown and them asking for your name and credit card. Your staff NEVER told me about any paperwork. Anyways fast-forward to 6:30 am I wake myself and my 2 year old up and pack us in the car to drive 40 mins with traffic to your office. To only be told "Oh do you have your paperwork" I explained to the lady (which she was the first actual nice front office lady I've encountered ) that I was never given any. She said there was a note that I would pick it up and fill it out. WRONG. Never told about it. I'm not one of your usual patients. I'm not loosing my mind. I'm not forgetful. I remember my crap. I remember appointments 3 weeks in advance and show up early to them so I could of filled out some stupid paper work. She says let me see what I can do. Closes the window and comes back to say the doctor will not see me since I didn't fill out the paper work. Dr. Kennedy if you as much as charged my insurance or even try a missed appointment I'm fighting it. I'm sure this paperwork would of made SUCH A DIFFERENCE. (sarcasm) I'm absolutely disgusted through this experience about how people are treated with mental health issues let alone how they are treated at a MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY. I then cancelled all of my appointments with any of the therapists or dumb Dr. Kennedy. What a useless office. What a useless doctor. I will never go to a single PsyCare ever again. They are a sorry excuse of an establishment. At this point it would be easier for someone to off themselves then see this heartless doctor. Anyways. I had an initial appointment with a psychiatrist at the Alvarado office recently. During the appointment, the staff was courteous and I felt comfortable with the doctor and our care plan. the problems started afterwards. There were problems with 3 of the four prescriptions. The office staff initially stated no body from my pharmacy contacted Psycare Alvarado about the medications. I had called the pharmacy, and confirmed they called and faxed all of the information-twice. I was actually standing at the counter during the first call. The pharmacist gave me the name of the person they spoke to on their calls. When I spoke to her, she told me the doctor only works three days a week, and the prescription problems could not be solved until she returned. That means it will take 3 days to even start to resolve the matter. I do not recall anyone, including the psychiatrist, telling me this doctor didn't work full time .If I knew, I would have looked for someone else. The other problem with Psycare in general is that the clinics and doctors do not have direct phone numbers. It is too much of a hassle. Though I liked the psychiatrist, I can not trust problems can be solved effectively and in a timely manner. If these things happened after my first visit, it's not a good sign for the future. I am researching other psychiatrist and may change primarily due to office and doctor availability problems. read more

The only reason I'm not putting 5 stars is because I have no real comparison and I only use one service. I go to the Eastlake office and see Danielle Pinson for therapy. I love her to death, she really wants to see her clients succeeds and wants to celebrate exciting moments in life. But she also really forces me to think about what I'm saying, why I'm saying it, and the mental process I go through. In seeing her, I've realized more and more things about myself than I had with a prior counselor at college. She's wonderful and her therapy style suits my personality to a T. I can't say anything about Psycare as a whole, though, as my insurance just contracts out to them for therapy- I don't see doctors there and I have nothing to do with the red tape there. All I know is I pay my $10 co-pay and see my awesome therapist for an hour. I've never had any hassles. read more

I feel bad for the people who had negative experiences here. I didn't have a perfect experience or anything, but it wasn't bad. Making an appointment was easy, parking was plentiful, no one was rude to me, and I never had an excessive wait. The waiting room and therapist's office weren't elegant, true, but it wasn't like a DMV or fast food franchise. The therapist I saw seemed competent and caring, but just wasn't the best match for me, so I stopped making appointments. I hesitate to give 4 stars - I don't find myself eager to go back and try a different therapist there, but it's possible. My son has been seeing Dr. Littman for a number of years. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with him. The receptionist staff is a whole differnt story. They are without a doubt the most rude and obnoxious people I have ever met. People come here for help. These two ladies have no personality or a shred of humanity in them. Frickin robots. I was seeing Dr. Chavez (psychiatrist) in the Eastlake, Chula Vista office for anxiety, stress, and panic disorder. He would not respond to prescription refills in a timely manner, nor return my phone calls. I waited and waited for him to authorize my refills and soon enough was going through withdrawal symptoms from trying to make the few pills I had last me until we could straighten out the problem. After calling the pharmacy AGAIN, and having them tell me they were still waiting for Dr. Chavez's approval to refill my prescription, I left him a voice mail telling him I was upset, irritated, and dissatisfied with his lack of service. The next thing I know, I get a letter in the mail from Dr. Chavez and the PsyCare Quality Management team stating that Dr. Chavez had terminated his association with me and based that decision on many crazy and untrue facts about my refill. The letter stated that I needed to contact my insurance company to get another psychiatrist. I found out later that there is another psychiatrist in the Eastlake office that they could have switched me to, but instead, I had to do a lot of unnecessary legwork to get another psychiatrist. I felt tossed aside like a piece of trash tossed out of a car window by a person driving down the freeway at high speed! On top of that, when I took this problem before my PsyCare Psychologist, Danielle Pinson, she seemed to have already made up her mind to defend the decisions and actions of the PsyCare Quality Management team and Dr. Chavez. (After all, she gets her paycheck from PsyCare.) Danielle seemed uninterested and unbending about my problem, argued with me about why I should see it from their point of view, kept interrupting me and seemed uninterested and uncaring about my side of the story, and told me not to raise my voice at her! So, in other words, Danielle Pinson wants her patients to act a certain way or she can't handle giving them proper therapy!??? I feel it is the therapist's moral and ethical duty to be approachable and wise in helping a patient through a situation like this one and not make the patient go home feeling worse! I also feel a psychologist should show some concern about how his (or her) employer is treating a patient (in this case PsyCare), and acknowledge the validity of a patient's feelings by listening to the problem and accepting constructive criticism about how they can improve on customer service! Danielle Pinson's harsh and argumentative approach to psychology in defense of PsyCare is definitely not an approach my nerves can tolerate! As a result, PsyCare and their team of managers and doctors ended up causing me more stress and anxiety than they alleviated it, based on the following: (1) the lack of return phone calls and prescription refills by Dr. Chavez, (2) the unprofessional and uncaring way in which the PsyCare Quality Management team terminated my doctor/patient relationship with Dr. Chavez without ever giving me the time of day (or a return phone call to even find out from me what was really going on concerning refills!), and (3) the judgments of Danielle Pinson concerning my situation based on PsyCare's twisted and erroneous facts. I went to Psycare today for a scheduled appointment I made last month. When I arrived, I was surprised to find out from the receptionist that my appointment is not in the system and would have to reschedule. I had to cancel work and had to requisition a ride today only to find out that instead of the date I specified, they booked me 2 weeks ago which of course I already missed. I had to explain to their billing department that I dispute any billing charges they will throw at me for the no show which I never made in the first place. I never even got a reminder call for that appointment (the wrong date they entered into their system.) I remember giving them instructions to send me automated reminders so I won't forget. But even that request was ignored. I like the services offered to me by my doctor, however, Psycare needs to evaluate their customer service, office and administrative procedures. After being transferred to the billing department I asked if they can review the recorded phone call I made to verify that they made the error and they quickly said they don't record these calls. That leaves me with no substantial evidence- it was only my word against them. I am so disappointed. I have been their client for so long. Everytime i have a no show they bill me right away. But what if it is me on the opposite end? Should I charge Psycare for my time and for the "no service?" I feel that since I did not make the error, in the first place, Psycare should compensate me for the inconvenience they caused me: loss of income; time and effort wasted; and the emotional stress. For their own patient battling mental and emotional issues, there is no excuse for all this additional aggravation caused by their incompetence. Today I was hoping the clinic receptionists to be more apologetic. I was wishfully thinking that they can at least appease me for the time being, and yet, they showed lack of empathy and even insinuated that I was the one who made the mistake. I am thinking of switching to a new provider right now. It saddens me that I have to forego my wonderful doctor because Psycare, the organization, couldn't measure up to her level of professionalism. I am currently suffering from severe amounts of panic and anxiety every day for the majority of the day. Dr. Baroya at the Eastlake office straight out tells me to play around with the medications a little bit and see if something makes me feel better. On two days, I took one extra Xanax and I immediately told him about it at our appointment two days later. He then tells me to try it out for a week and see if I feel better. Initially, I did feel better so I told him about it and told him I would need more medication to cover the increase. Instead he comes back at me accusing me of being an addict and he refuses to treat me unless I do some outpatient rehab program. First off, I'm not an addict, second, I'm suffering because the medications HE prescribed aren't working and then he refuses to treat me. I come to find out he is actually on staff in that outpatient program so it all makes sense now. This doctor was trying to force me into something I did not need/want all so he could get double payment from me. He set me up to look like something I am not, he turned his back on me and I was forced to go find a new psychiatrist within a matter of two days. PsyCare was of no help at all. I tried to get transferred to another doctor and Dr. Baroya somehow blocked me from seeing any other doctor within PsyCare unless I submitted to his little game. It is my life and my body and I have the free will to see another doctor if I feel he is not giving me adequate treatment. Apparently, PsyCare doesn't think so! No, they would rather DENY you access to treatment than honor your requests. One, steer clear of Dr. Baroya. He is BAD NEWS. Two, read reviews before choosing any psychiatrists. I went around and checked reviews for other PsyCare doctors and all of them have pretty horrible reviews. Truly, look anywhere else besides PsyCare. read more

I have been going to the Vista office. They recently moved to a brand new office in San Marcos. It is a very nice place. The staff has always been courteous. My pdoc is good as far as pdocs go. The other reviews paint a much darker picture than what I have witnessed. They accept medicare so I pay a fraction of what I would pay at another outfit. read more

Psychiatrist is very good, but the billing department is is either incompetent or dishonest. When I became eligible for Medicare, I provided all of the information for my supplemental insurance; they billed my former insurance company. The billing clerk claimed that I had not formally cancelled my previous insurance, and she demanded that I send in a check for the copayment (to her attention). When I advised her to check Medicare, she said that they would not cover my claim because I had not cancelled my former health insurance. I went over to the office, and confronted the office manager about the situation, I asked her to get the billing clerk, and call both the insurance company and Medicare in my presence. The billing clerk refused, contending that I was stalking her. My recommendation is to go elsewhere. read more

Psycare as a whole is ok but one of the therapists, Vicki, was not very professional - she was very demeaning to me (I was not the patient). She appears to have issues herself. She is very condescending - I'm not sure why she thought she could ever be a good therapist. At times, I would call her with some information on my daughter (who she was "treating") and Vicki would never call me back. She agreed to see my daughter once a week but somehow Vicki would never be available once per week. read more

Dr Gutiar is not mentaly stable and he looses his paitence and start to yell if you do not agree to his plan

NO STARS IS WHAT THIS PLACE NEEDS. My issue is with the EASTLAKE OFFICE, which does not have a Yelp review option availble for me to post on. These people are horrible people dealing with the mental issues that we continue to see on commercials about helping people, yet helping people seems to be the least of their concerns. Without fully going into the personal issues of my family and the reason why we were going to try going to them, this is what I have to say: This facility after making me go through hoops to get them to be able to even set an appointment for my family, then refused to see my child because of what my child is going through. This is a completely unethical thing to do since the whole point of going had to do with psychological issues which is exactly what we were going to be going there for. The intake specialists stated after I told them exactly what was going on that they would not see my child. I then asked them to have the psychiatrist that I had originally scheduled to see, Dr. Ivan Baroya to contact me so that he and I could discuss this further. They refused to have him call me. I then for over two months, every single week, faxed and mailed them requests for them to put into writing the reason for refusing to see my child. They eventually wrote a letter to me that even to this day does not have a warranted reason for denying us a visit. The real reason has to do with their hatred and intolerance of our situation which is a gross negligent error on their part and could lead to a lawsuit when I am ready to pursue it further and can open up more publicly about the truth. In time, I will and they will have hell to pay over this situation. I just have to figure out where my voice is and what to do next. read more

I would never tell anyone I like to go here if you have to deal with the front office staff or any billing staff. This is the poorest run office with the most stringent office policies that I have ever encountered. If something comes in the way of getting to the office early, or needing an emergency appointment, you are screwed. If they make a mistake you have to take it with a spoon. 99% of the employees are mindless drones who couldn't care less. They should have NEVER chosen a career or even a job in the mental health field. On many occasions I have gotten SO angry after talking with them on the phone I can't even see straight. read more

The office staff is rude and incompetent, the doctors shuffle you around at whim, and my son has been struggling in school and twisting in the wind for months on their advice of "wait and see" and a visit every three months. I called to make one more appointment, and was told that I had to pay my bill before they would schedule. So I asked to be transferred to billing, and the receptionist hung up on me. I am in absolute disgust and, unfortunately, after trying for several months with countless providers, this place is getting the full force of my frustration. After working for months trying to find someone, anyone, that would take my insurance and could get me in within a reasonable time frame [I was even willing to wait a couple months] I finally found this place and they said everything look good. Then, during their phone-triage questions, I admitted to using medical marijuana in the past for my insomnia when I couldn't find help. I went through completely legal paths and I'm not ashamed of it, so why would I lie? Turns out, regardless of how badly you need help, once you've touched the stuff it's a giant F you & suck it up. I'll now have to wait until the end of the year when we're able to move out of state. read more

Alvarado office-my therapist is amazing, this review is for the front office staff. They are rude, they misquote billing information (just call billing-they'll explain PROPERLY), either don't charge you a co-pay ("you're good to go this week") or over charge you ("oh whoopsie, that receptionist was mistaken last week"), will tell you they've called your insurance and say you owe them a co-pay when you don't and when you correct them will rudely state "you should know your own benefits and you are incorrect" (make sure you call and verify with your insurance-because mine informed me they told the receptionist I NEVER owe one, they record the calls, got that in writing for proof)...oh! And they will tell you they won't release your information and records to another doctor or to you when you are required to bring it to another doctor, when there is a RELEASE FORM ON THEIR WEBSITE. When you're going to a place for help, it would be nice if your front desk staff was trained well and kind. read more
