ALL AMERICAN FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS There are ALL THESE 'Cooking Shows' on TV for years and for pretty much for any culinary preference... and I CAN'T FIND a DECENT slice of pizza. I recently had a late night craving for slice.. This restaurant was recommended for their so-call Philly Cheese Steak. But at 9:30pm on a friday and the place was empty and the staff was cleaning-up. I figure just get a cheese slice. We'll, I have never saw a slice of pizza prepared the way PTA Restaurant did it. The gentleman went into the frig below and took out a cold already cut slice of pizza. But, here's where it got weird for me, because I have never seen a 'slice of cheese pizza' needing cheese, unless you're ordering a slice of pizza with extra cheese. He took a hand full of shredded mozzarella cheese and spread it on top of this cold slice that apparently had pizza sauce on it. But, the slice was laying face down on top of other cut slice of pizzas. And, no pizza sauce dripped off this slice of pizza. So, that meant that there was very little sauce on this slice of pizza. By the time they out my ordered slice of pizza it was burnt and stiff. I threw it away. The staff was POLITE and PROFESSIONAL. And, everyone was doing their part in cleaning up. And, washing their hands because handling food. But,.... It's not just PTA pizza and hoagies Restaurant.. it's ALL AMERICAN RESTAURANTS. The NASTIEST pizza I have ever had in my lifeeeee. The lady at the front desk was nice. However? Their pizza is TRASH! There was barely any marinara sauce on the pizza and the sauce that was on it had to be old because it was clumped up in sections under the cheese. They put so much (I think it was) mozzarella cheese on the pizza. The dough/bread/crust of the pizza tasted like cardboard. I had to dip my pizza in salad dressing to eat some of it. I found PTA Pizza when I moved to the area 15 years ago. The food has always been good and ready at the scheduled time. Service is always hit or miss. When teenagers were working up front I would get great service. I wanted to support a local business a few weeks ago but with an unfriendly woman at the front that keeps the door locked they are making it very difficult to get customers or keep them as this isn't a place I want to return. Had my order been ready on time and if I didn't have to wait outside in the cold and rain for 15 minutes I might feel differently. They hand wrote on printer paper that you need to call first. I understand needing to call in orders ahead but if you don't offer curbside pickup making it difficult for customers to pickup orders isn't going to keep customers. Now this would work much better if they offer curbside pickup and you call when you get there and someone runs your order out. Part of the order was likely ready on time as the pasta was cold. The cook did apologize for the delay as it appears they got to work late. This could have been avoiding taking orders until they knew the orders would be ready or phone that the order is delayed. read more

I don't live here in North Carolina, i came from Georgia due to Hurricane Helene, but if i did live here, I would come to this place every damn day. This is the BEST food i've ever had. The fried mushrooms are to die for! The stromboli was cooked very well and very cheesey to my liking. The garlic bread is so amazing don't even get me started on how good the marinara sauce is (if i could drink it i would). Their pizza (i had the supreme) sooooo amazing. And last but not least, the fried zucchini has to be one of my favorite items on the menu. It's soo good with the ranch and without. Next time i'm here i'm definitely coming again. PTA is a Wake Forest institution. It was The local pizza place when we arrived in 1990, and they have faithfully continued making great food in a family-friendly environment over all these years. I've ordered over $60.00 a week for each order because I usually have people over on the weekend watching UFC and they get HANGRY when they don't have grub. A beautiful relationship ruined because the business owners hired some zit faced teenager to answer phone, made him a "manager" and he just had to tell me to "SHUT THE F@CK UP!" I know! STFU!?? Really?! I was trying to explain where we lived and this guy tells me that the driver went to my address, rung the bell a few times and returned to the store. So I ask to speak to a manager and the "manager" tells me to "STFU!" while I'm giving him the correct address! I had a 30 minute break from work and figured I'll try someplace new. I don't hate this place but I doubt if I would go again. The service is a mixture of fast-food and sit down. You enter into the ordering window (which is the kitchen) very hot. The girl behind the counter was nice but you can tell she was tired of the job. You go into the dinning room and it is very old and stale. The air is on in there so it is cooler. The bathrooms are nasty. Like I said I had thirty minutes for lunch. The food took forever. I basically got a chicken Philly. It was hot and the sandwich was okay. Very little taste though. You got a bag of chips with the meal. The cooks (which I'm guessing is the owner or manager) would talk loud and go in and out of the kitchen (which made it warmer in the dinning room). He seemed angry and made eating their uneasy. No one was in the dinning room and only one person ordered something, while I was there. I think if it was revamped a bit, the place could do better. read more

Sounds like the making of great restaurant. I like greasy hole in the wall type places. However, the food about matches the decor. Boring. The pizza was decent and really cheap. Should be 0 stars. Owner is yelling at employees and is instructing them to lie to customers about what goes on their order. The place is filthy, which you can't see if you are ordering on the phone. When you get here to pick up, it's too late. Employees are tense and nervous, so what quality do you expect they are putting into your food? What a disgraceful owner/employer. Oh, just finished my meal. The salad is wilted, the meat is cold and the presentation looks as bad as it tastes. Sorry to disappoint all you loyal locals, but you may want to reconsider this "local favorite". The food is great. I did get a little aggravated that when we ordered we ordered lunch specials and it took so long. I txted someone before I came in at 12 and still didn't have my food at 12:31. When we got there they had one table of men. When we left every table was full, but we were the last to receive our food. Some of the other tables ordered the same things we did like a steak and cheese and pizza special. I really want to like it because their food is good, so I keep giving them chances. It is also very hot in there. The man is very nice and personable. I wasn't impressed with the lady. They have some well-priced selection of daily lunch specials, with drinks included from $3.99. My kids love the pizza. The gyro is a favorite of my daughter and she loves it with the french fries. The french fries are very good and the seasoning on the fries is different and tastes great. Friendly staff, you order at the counter and they will bring to the table. I ordered wings and they had no sauce what so ever! When I called about the sauce she was trying to tell me that there sauce is oil based. So, I told her all it was was oil with no color at the bottom. So, when some other girl got the phone and asked me if there was anything the bottom I tried to say no and explain what they looked like but before I could finish she tells me to basically shut up so she can talk. I said no I wasn't done answering your question and the hung up on me. I called back was talking with someone else I wasn't yelling or anything. She says "it's not my fault."
