Today I was driving on 5th Street NW next to an SUV with a cruiser following on my left lane. I had my window down and we stopped at a red light I looked over and the officer nodded. Nice gesture and he didn't have to do that. Always appreciate what these guys/ gals do - they never get enough credit. Most of the time it's fake news selling what they did wrong. We want you there. I stopped along the freeway at Commanche and I 25 to confront the guy . I had a bb gun in my hand. later as I was detained for questioning she asked me about a gun I told her yeah I had a pellet pistol and pointed it at the dirt in front of his car, pointed it at the dirt, oh did I say that. I told her the bb gun was on the seat of my Silverado, but being the fine police specimen she is she refused to look. Instead she arrested me the one who called 911 for help at the age of 66 I was thrown in jail. the problem is is that APD gives any POS a gun and says go enforce the law and it was pretty obvious that this young Asian lady was about the dumbest police officer I ever met. conclusion, if you get in trouble and need help in Albuquerque do not call 911 or eve 242-cops.

Although I remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction, she was consistently rude and dismissive. She interrupted me, would not listen to my concerns, and did not give me the opportunity to explain why I was there. I understand that these offices can be busy and stressful, but everyone deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect. Because of this experience, I plan to submit a formal letter describing what happened, including the employee's name, in the hope that future visitors receive better customer service.

Biweekly, I rinse & recycle my plastic & paper waste & drive a couple miles away to recycle. I appreciate the fact that the bins accept glass & other bulk paper/plastic items; makes me all warm & fuzzy inside. 3 large properly labeled bins accommodate me & my recyclables. The bins are typically quite full whenever I go to deposit, way cool. Glad to see locals also join in the recycling revelry... WooooHoop #GoGreen

Albuquerque is the best of cities, Albuquerque is the worst of cities, it is a city of beauty, it is a city of ulgy, it is a city with wealth, it is a city of crime and poverty, it is a city of mountains, it is a city of valleys, it is a city of red, it is a city of green, it is a city of science, it is a city of superstition, there are too many people living in this desert, and there are not enough people living in this oasis, there are an infinite number of good restaurants, there are no good places to eat, it is a great place to raise a family, it is the worst place for a kid to grow up, it is a city of hot air balloons, it is a city of cold water rivers, it is a city of hot and dry days, it is a city of dark and stormy afternoons - in short, I believe that Albuquerque has only one face: that of a violent contradiction. When I sat down in the stall there was an older man staring at me through the crack; when I emerged he asked me for some drugs. I slid to the sink and jumped at the steaming brown water that sprayed out of the sink. Too hot to the touch. I tried the other sinks and they were all that way. I could finally leave but was followed out by the man that was looking through the crack. I felt very vulnerable!...
