The units are dirty and full of bugs and they get water in them. Found a better deal at a nicer location with a competitor. I will NEVER rent from these scammers again! $200 a month for a non temp controlled 5x10 unit is insane! And after reading other reviews, it appears that if you live out of state, they will take advantage of you. I moved to Ohio and needed the unit to store things until I could come back to collect the rest. These scammers seem to prey on out of state renters. BEWARE!!!!

I kept my move out invoice , deleted payment off app days prior and took Pic of the PIF property. Good bye. Get your own sh**. Once I removed my things out of the unit, the items were exactly the same. If you rent a climate controlled unit -- you can only go into your storage unit during their business hours. Award Self Storage offers: a truck to move-in (did not use), along with several boxes and 2nd month rent for FREE! The facility sells boxes and such for typical moving needs. They also have carts inside the storage building to assist with moving items. Overall, this establishment did it's job and I had no issues while there. Also, the staff are nice and helpful when needed. Award Self Storage is 20 mins from Philadelphia which was a major plus!

When I went to file a rodent damage claim, was told the storage policy does not cover pest damage! Also, lights go out after 17 min and you have to go back down the corridor to turn them on if you need more time. Why no motion sensors? Elevator down button broken for at least three weeks and counting. Office often closed during regular hours. Prices go up substantially every six months. Bait and switch with initial pricing. Avoid.

They said that I would have to go through my insurance to get compensation even though insurance does not cover pest damage, and they refused to refund my rent. A couple of years later, I stored my things at EZ Storage again in preparation for my next cross-country move (again with free pickup, thanks to a sweet student-moving deal). I'd already landed on the west coast when the moving plans changed from driving to shipping. Ray built a pallet, packed my things onto it, and helped with shipping logistics, for a very very nominal charge. Who does that?! Would I still have all my things without Ray and Sue? Probably... but maybe not. Would I be able to think about moving without flinching? Not a chance. Would I have such faith in humanity and the kindness of relative strangers? A resounding no! I stopped by to check out Chester Heights Self Storage and was really pleasantly surprised. The guy at the front desk, Dave, was really nice and helpful (and super busy!). He made sure to pay attention to me even though he was helping other customers, and he gave me a price list to look at. One of the other customers also waiting in there told me that he had researched all of the other storage facilities in the area and that this was the cheapest and newest. They had so many different types of units available, and I went with the 10x10 climate-controlled. I'm really happy with the cleanliness of the facilities, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and also with the security measures at the facility. I've stopped by a couple of times to get stuff out of my unit after hours and I felt so safe! Gates that require codes to get in AND out of and 24/7 video surveillance all over the place. Definitely stop by here if you need self-storage.

My monthly due date is the 8th. Like many Americans, money is tight and I knew that I would be paying a $20 late fee - but that I also had a 5 day grace period. I started receiving phone calls on May 11 from personnel in this location telling me that I needed to pay my bill. The next phone call was on the 13th and I spoke with the representative and told her I was aware that my payment was late. All total - I received 8 phone calls and six text messages regarding my account. It was worse than a collection agency. Because I've never been this late before (groceries, gas, medication VS. paying storage who wins?) I did not know that an additional $20 was assessed four days after the first assessed penalty. I have rented from this location for over 7 years starting when it used to be Metro. I had a testy exchange with George on Saturday, who implied that I was trying to skip out on my bill and that they deal with this all the time. He also said he'd "try" to pass my concerns along to the area manager, but he's not in control of her schedule and hopefully she'd get back to me sometime this week. I was outraged and called the corporate customer service number and explained my offense. The area manager finally called me today and it was - again - an abysmal, defensive conversation. I learned that $40 is part of the "late" fees and accepted that; however, my complaint was that I was being harassed and maltreated as a longtime customer and that the texts and emails are excessive. She proceeded to interject and said she'd let me talk and now it was her turn and that because I keep interrupting her she can't help me. She essentially defended the actions of the Limerick staff and never once treated my concerns as valid. It's not about the money anymore - it's about the professional disrespect that she is green lighting. DO NOT RENT UNITS FROM COMPASS. THE LIMERICK LOCATION IS THE WORST AND SO IS THE AREA MANAGER. I cannot WAIT to get my things and leave after spending thousands of dollars over several years. The price hikes are also so out of control that it borders on extortion.
