This place needs a new property managers. Manager Wayne is unprofessional. It's like he doesn't know the meaning to the word "Customer Service." He doesn't put any effort in, his tone isn't pleasant and his attitude overall sucks. On my first day, I was looking for my storage unit and I spotted Wayne. I ask Wayne, for help, I ask when what direction is my unit. He told me "to use a map" Like WTF?!? I didn't get a map. So I told him that. Avoid the storage facility. In less than six months, they raised our rates $140. And then I was just informed today that they're going to raise our rates another $100+. So we started here in the $300 range per month and now much less than one year they want almost $600 a month!?! Disgusting. Price gouging. Robbery. What a scam. Go somewhere else even if it's a farther drive. You can never find help there anyway. And it's not properly temperature controlled. You will be sweating your butt off going through your stuff in your storage unit. It's hot! So if you have stuff that's heat sensitive, or could mold, definitely go somewhere else. read more

She immediately reached out to me and I was able to get the unit I really wanted without having to pay anything extra. The transfer was a breeze. She was so courteous and friendly. I've just really come full circle with this business! Two years ago I was in a tough bind and had to deploy on a moments notice... some issues came up and I had to store somethings last minute. It was not a pleasant situation. Fast forward to a necessity of being military once again I was in a tough spot with some storage needs and a boat.. Enter the wonderful front office "Diane" and team who did everything they could to make sure it was easy going and low threat stress. The district/regional manager even stepped in to make sure I was taken care of and my family wasn't feeling taken advantage of! All humble and genuine customer care. I've since met a number of regular customers and I love the little community we've become a part of. It looks like we are retiring here and I couldn't be happier with continuing to be a patron here until we can move into a larger home. Terrible experience here. Customer service SUCKS. If it wasn't so close to my home I would've taken my money and belongings elsewhere. Went in one day to downsize my storage unit only to be "helped" by an extremely rude and unprofessional employee. Never in all my years of customer service have I ever encountered something like this. The employee had misinformed me about information in regards to downsizing and then continued to tell me that it was my fault I didn't understand him. First off, you told me one thing and when I can back you told me another. Even if I was wrong, you didn't take the time to explain why this and why that. What he did do, however, is get irritated and escalate the situation by getting cocky, continuously cutting me off when I was speaking, and just the over attitude (check the hand in the photo, that hand stayed up the WHOLE conversation.) I couldn't even tell you the employees name due to the fact he didn't even mention it. If you have to go in to speak w/ someone, I 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND speaking to this employee (see photo for employee). Super rude. The place is clean and customer service is polite. I've had a couple issues tho.. I had my own lock on our locker and it was removed by the company and replace with their own. When I went to get the key, they couldn't find it. Then they had to wait for a specific person to come down and cut the lock off, which took 4 days! I wanted to cut it off myself but they would not allow it. I just found out on my online bill that the rate increased. I have been using Public Storage for many years in CA and HI. This is my first experience with the Ewa Beach location. After only 6 months they raised my monthly rate by 20%. They reduced it back for the next 3 months after I asked, but raised it back 20% again at the 9 month anniversary. Wayne, the manager, said the reason for the increase was that costs were going up. The last time I checked, the cost of living for self-storage(electricity, labor, insurance, etc.)over the past 9 months was minimal. My wife and I are on fixed incomes and with COVID19, this increase is unacceptable. read more

My husband went in first to view what size unit would work best for our needs. He was greeted with amazing customer service! They took him around the units to show him our options. My husband finds the right size and I jumped online to get everything started. I recommend setting everything up online. They give you additional savings as well by doing so. You can just reserve with a confirmation or you can reserve and due all the contract terms etc online too, very convenient. After work, I quickly went in to finish everything up. I was greeted with a warm smile by Paulette. She was such a gem through the entire process. She was also the same person that assisted my husband earlier. She was ready for me, walked me straight to the unit to ensure my approval as well, and then placed the lock on our new storage! :) (sounds like buying a home, ha!). To be very clear, Paulette is Public Storage's FIVE star! :) I give the 4 star because it would be beneficial to their customers to be open past 9pm. Many that work days and travel home, then have a short window to move things in and out of their unit or just access something they may need to grab real quickly. I think later evening hours, maybe to 10-10:30pm would be better. Looking at another reviewers post about changing $ terms agreed makes me a little nervous, but I haven't had issues with them in the past, so...*fingers crossed* Again, thank you PAULETTE for providing OUTSTANDING service! read more

JF Moving Services stored our stolen property at 3 different locations, under his name, his wife's name, and his employees names! Great experience! This is the second time using PS in Ewa. Customer service here is awesome. Wayne was really attentive and helpful with my initial inquiry finding a bigger sized storage unit for my family of 4 which was really last minute. He followed up with everything till the end of our time there. We were playing phone tag a little on my last day there while I was moving out and I just missed the office during business hours. I was bummed but as I was about to leave the parking lot Wayne caught me outside and was nice enough to confirm my move out for the next person while I sat in my car! I regret the day I decided to go with Public Storage. During these very difficult times with major cut-backs during this pandemic, Public Storage decides to increase my rent (and I'm not talking pocket change). In past when I have asked for justification on their huge rent increases, they could not give me a straight or acceptable reason. I have given up on asking as the conversation only ends up with me being really frustrated and my blood pressure soaring to 200/200. Unfortunately, I was in a huge time crunch when I moved from Ewa Beach and chose them because they were the closest and most convenient location at that time. Had I known THEN how they operate, I would have NEVER given them my business. They are nothing but "money-hungry vultures!" If you're reading this in search of looking for a storage facility, please DO NOT choose Public Storage!!!! Don't let the friendly customer service fool you, they will suck you in and slam you with huge rent increases! read more

During times like these. I chose to sell my house. We're trying to get a bigger place due to the small place I already have with growing kids. But, I didn't think I sell so quickly and haven't found a place to move into yet. Plan B went into place. Moving in with my brother until I find out new home. However his place is an even smaller place. So we needed a storage unit for sure. Diane helped me. She was EXTREMELY helpful. Took me to ALL size units I was looking into after the glitch online. Found the right one for me. And a nice promo to help too. She was THE BEST! Wayne was another gentleman I met there too. She introduced me in case I ever need any help. Who would be able to help if she wasn't around. And he was nice too! After a week in. I realized that I need to move faster as I calculated wrong. Diane helped showed me to a bigger unit. So patient. Showed me 2 bigger size units and so patient as my husband and I decide. Went with the biggest one. The transfer was so nice. I told her I'll get everything transferred in hours. I sure did. The next day Wayne dropped by my old unit and inspected and didn't even need me to come in to sign it off. I appreciate during covid I didn't have to take the extra step for sure. The team work is nice too. I got an email that my transfer was complete. The facility is very clean and I saw Wayne spent all day spraying down the units outside to sanitize or pest treatment. That's a great thing. Yes, I was in and out all day. I've only met these 2 and they are GREAT! They remembered my name and greeted me and ask if everything was alright. I love it here for sure. After the the first year they raised the price by $15 which was reasonable and now it's not even the 2nd year and they raising the price again but double. They went from rom $50 a month to $128 a month. It's a pandemic and that is more than double. I called to complain and they said they can raise the price at any time. Today was my second time visiting this facility. The first time there was a sign on the door with "will be back in 30 minutes"..... who has time to sit around and wait at a storage facility for 30 minutes. Not a good start, but I gave it a second chance and came a second time because it's ridiculously close to my house. Met Wayne the manager and he's very stoic with zero personality. He asked a few questions to get an idea of the size of the unit I needed and then he walked me outside the front door, told me he would would meet me around the side and locked he door. Not exactly sure why we had to go out different doors, but whatever. He took me to the largest storage unit ( that costs $327 a month ) when I told him I was storing the contents of a few closets and a couple dining room chairs. After he showed me a smaller unit, he gave me a lock ( using some weird verbiage and told me to put it on the unit) When I struggled a bit with where to place the lock he didn't say "here... this is how you do it" he said "you are welcome to look at the other blah blah blah's saying it a couple times till I looked up and realized he was "actually" saying "look at the way another person did it on a another unit ) WTF dude ..... just help .....and talk like a human! So we go back down to the front desk to pay ( the people he told to wait 15 minutes had left ..... no surprise) I hand him my dependent military ID, to which he tells me he would prefer a state ID because it requires additional paperwork to process payment for a MIL ID. Ok, I hand him my DL and then inquire as to why the mil ID requires different paperwork, to which he replies, " just additional information blah blah blah) But, I really wanted to know WHY public storage would require additional information from military people and he finally responds that it's for protection under SCRA...... SO ITS NOT "JUST FOR ADDITIONAL INFO", he's basically getting me to waive rights under SCRA! (SCRA Keeps the owner of a self-storage facility from selling your belongings for overdue rent without a court order .......along with other financial protections) Not that I intended to "not pay" but I wasn't given the opportunity to waive that right provided me by the federal government. If Wayne's personality ( or lack thereof ) and the lack of staff wasn't enough, the straw that broke the camels back was not disclosing that by using my state DL, I would NOT have the protections under SCRA. . This place gave me bad vibes! Get a personality Wayne and stop taking like a robot..... and hire more staff! read more

The gate/access door breaks as well as elevator and the prices keeps going up. If these things break and making a inconvenient to the tenants instead of raising the price why not give them existing tenants a 20% discount for their inconvenience. There is no price cap. This means this company can raise the rental fee as every month if they want. read more

I'm in the process of moving and need a storage unit to house my belongings. Public Storage had the best price for a 10x15 unit compared to their competitors on the island. The sign up process was easy and straight forward. Move in day was a breeze and hand trolleys are available to help with the move which made the process much better. I moved in 5 days after my move in day and when I tried to enter the storage unit my code was denied. I went to the front office and come to find out it's for security purposes which I understand. Wayne was easy to talk to and very courteous. Great customer service. I really my experience at Public Storage was excellent and would definitely recommend to anyone needing a storage unit. read more

This is the closest storage place near where I live. Not only is it convenient but it's fairly nice as well. I always look for a gated storage unit. This place has that and climate-controlled units inside a building. The prices are pretty outrageous (it is Hawaii). But I am willing to bet that's going to be the case at most storage facilities in Hawaii. The service has always been pretty good. I've dealt a lot with Wayne who is always friendly and very helpful. My only complaint is that I cannot access my unit 24-hours a day. The gates close at 9pm so if you're inside during that time, you're out of luck and will have to pick up for your car when it opens back up. Wayne did a great job showing me three different units (5x5, 5x7, & 5x10) ... all three were at good prices but still a bit out of my monthly budget ... based upon my needs and financial parameters, I settled on a 5x5 space ... perhaps the best part of the 5x5 space that was available just happened to be also the closest to the facility entrance ... Wayne completed my lease/rental agreement, my insurance addendum, and provided for me my gate access information and new account receipt within 15 minutes ... My total for the month of April, which included the move-in discount, storage, insurance, and merchandise (lock & tape) was $62.29 ... Going forward, my monthly rent will be $89.53 ... Timing is everything and Wayne's timing and position of the benefits (cost and location) were tremendous! ... read more

First, the staff at this storage facility are always friendly, professional and helpful. I rent a medium sized storage room and the process of setting up the contract was easy. The facility is clean and security is adequate. My only issue, and why I can't give a 5 star rating, is the inconvenient system they have for allowing use of their carts. I have to drop my id at the office. Then enter the gate, and park near my storage room which is on the far side of the property from the carts. Then I have to all back over to the office area and unlock the cart and roll it back to the other side of the property to my storage room. I also have a storage room at diamond head self storage, and their cart system is far easier. As I often have a young child with me while moving things in and out of my storage room, all of this walking and dragging carts back and forth across the property is just an inconvenience. read more

Even the other staff members. I rented for about 6months and found this place to be the best I rented from by far, cleanliness and easy to load and unload.
