This place is the worse!!!!! Since I got the storage in Dec 2023. They have increased the rent from $140.00 to $297.00 for the same unit! I called to change my email address a month later and they didn't change. They claim to send out emails for rent increases. I haven't gotten any. They hadn't changed my email. Edna was the one I spoke with. I called one day and was told that I have to come into the office to just to change the email. I was in TX and CA. They cut my lock off at least twice and charged me $19.00 for each lock rental. They can clearly see my address on the account was TX. On Feb. 10th, I went into the office because I had/have a problem with the billing. They had a lock on my unit again! I changed to my lock and when I went into my unit there was one another lock on the floor. I turned it into the office and wrote down my correct email and confirmed it with the lady. On April 19th, 2026. I get a call saying I need to come put a lock on my unit. I told the lady I had a lock on there. Someone had gone into my unit and stole some of my belongings. Of course, I contacted the police and found out that someone else's unit was broken into. I haven't heard anything from them.... read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I opened my storage locker, a 5x10' unit in Greensboro NC. I opened it in June or July of 2016. $49.99 a month. Over the next 8.5 years that number went from $49.99 a month, to $144 a month. Yes, $144 a month for a unit that if a wa a new customer, would cost me $49.99 a month. I spoke to management, and they kept telling me that the cost increases were in keepign with inflation. The highest infaltion rate in the 8.5 years, was 8.6%, what they were charging was almost 176% increase. I tried calling the regional manager, he ignored me. The local manager said "we can give you a 6 month discound of $21 a month" That was the last straw. I moved across the street to Uhaul, and am paying $50.00 a month. I spoke with the manager of the Uhaul facility, she said $144 a month was CRIMINAL. She said the last cost increase was 2 years ago, and it was $5.00. This place is a cash machine for the owners. I urge anyone who uses this facility, look at your bill. I never missed a payment, never violated any of their rules, I was a model customer. They are ridiculous. Theives. The rent increase is ridiculous. The rent has gone up from $130/month last year to $350/month this year. There is no explanation for significant price increases. They increase rent at least twice per year. The unit door that rolls up and down has broken part on one side. Its ridiculous to charge so much without any explaination. Please take your business elsewhere unless you only need short term. read more

Customer service was great when I first moved in back in 2018. Since then it's gone downhill tremendously. You can't get anyone local on the phone for assistance and it seems that the office staff is very limited. Maybe because there is only 1 in the office and if they have to be out & about, then there's nobody in the office. I did call the 800 # when I was locked out of paying online & asked to have my late fee deducted, which was done after a review. Rates increased drastically in the 6 years I've rented my unit. I still need storage but can't afford to pay $300 a month for a 10x20 so I found a much less expensive option in Greensboro, NC. read more

I have a vehicle at the Electra Drive location in Greensboro NC. The lot is gravel and there are no security cameras. Public storage has increased my rates every year that I have been there. That would not be an issue if they were providing something that justified the increases. They are offering nothing just hiking the price annually with no justification, increase in services, nothing. No paved lot, no security cameras. Someone hit my vehicle once in the lot, they were no help. The location is convenient to me but they have raised my rate to the point where I feel forced to move. Price hikes without an increase in services or facilities, etc... just seem like a price gouge. read more

Very easy account setup. Unit was ready upon my arrival with a lock. Joe, the manager on site was awesome and informative. Units are a little dated but in good shape. Gate access via the app is a huge plus! No keying in numbers. Open the app and open the gate. Restrooms on site were also a plus. Overall very pleased. read more

We chose Thai place specifically for the $1 first month rent promotion and it was a complete scam. Also, only a few weeks into having the unit, there is a RANCID smell in the building like something has died and property management is refusing to do a single thing about this. We are storing our entire home in the unit and will likely have to replace every piece of upholstered furniture we own, especially since the REQUIRED insurance doesn't cover THEIR problem that THEY REFUSE to so much as investigate. The property manager said "I don't know" whenever we asked her what we needed to do to ensure our things were okay. Then when we realized the conversation with her was going nowhere, we said we would try to figure something out in the next day and we would be in contact again, and she simply hung up without a word. TERRIBLE customer service. We are considering spending hours moving everything we own into a completely new unit (like maybe the beautiful uhaul storage spaces) across the street if this issue is not resolved (and maybe even if it is. Super nice staff. Easy check in and out. Big downside was the gates. Always seemed to be a pain to get out. One time we got locked in and the gate was out of order so we had to climb over it. Also, our unit was always dirty from poor weatherstripping. read more

While researching storage options in my area, I came across an advertisement for Public Storage offering $1 for the first month. This was a deciding factor in my comparisons of other companies. However, during the contactless reservation for my unit, the $1 promotion was never offered nor provided as an option. Nonetheless I continued with my reservation and accepted the price provided. After securing my unit with a payment thinking it covered November and December, I received a second invoice for a new balance. If I knew this was going to occur, I would have chosen a different storage company. In summary, I am not happy with the advertising practices of this company. Customers should to know the true costs upfront. read more

shady business practices, charge me extra month without verifying if I actually removed my lock despiting I told them ahead of time the lock had been removed. and when I call in their number they mentioned that I need to talk to the district manager. 5 calls later on i still not able to get a phone number of the manager. then they told me i need to talk with the collection department. it's not like I can't pay that 40 bucks, it is just frustrating that I can't even get to the right person to do refund (I dubt they have any people doing refunding at all). it's always easy when they want me to hand over the money and never happen when I want my money back. update on 9/28/2015, the collecting department contacted me and redone the balance back to 0, I am happy with the resolution. read more

If possible I would leave a negative 2. This place is horrible. Rented us a unit directly behind the office. Last winter we went to our unit to remove something, opened the door to be met by water rushing from the ceiling. I don't mean a leak, I mean a gushing. The bathroom water pipes which are in the ceiling had frozen and burst. The explanation given was that the bathrooms in are not heated and they freeze every year and sometimes they burst. HELLO....why would you continue to rent a storage unit to someone with their personal belongings in it under these pipes? Total disregard for someones belongings. We went through the hellish insurance debacle and received our $2000.00 and then had to deal with our HO-policy which barely covers Storage Units. In all we lost over $10000.00 in furniture, priceless family photos, and more. We never even heard one person utter a single, we are sorry. We did hear, you can't throw that away here, you will need to remove it off the property and dispose of it. REALLY?? We also had an issue with our billing (changed banks) and two days late they will lock your unit. We had a unit there for 3 years and never missed a payment. They are just nasty. Take your business where they care. We moved to Bee Safe. Clean, friendly, larger units. Better customer service and much nicer. All they care about is getting your money, they could care less about keeping your belongings safe. Gate is broken all the time, your stuff is fair game. read more

Both of them were smiling and happy, and gladly answered all of our questions with ease. They allowed us to thoroughly inspect the unit, offered products to assist in the transition, and made the experience very pleasant. I had a break in at this place between 4/11/2016 and 4/30/2016 The office personal would not co-operate with police and the insurance that I was required to have denied the claim stating that I had left my unit unlocked, I have noticed on several occasions when I visited this place to remove my belongs that the Gate was always opened and required no code to enter and exit which in my opinion leaves everyone at risk to theft , I would not recommend this place to anyone whom would think that their valuables are safe here read more
