What started out as a nightmare with a customer service rep that had a major attitude about fixing my rental agreement that THEY messed up, ended up being saved by two women, Moriah and Suzanne. After the initial rep sending me to a recording when I asked to speak to her supervisor about her rotten attitude, I received a call from Moriah and told her what happened and she immediately apologized for that persons behavior and fixed the error. I also wanted to see the storage spaces to get an idea of how big I needed. Enter Suzanne who showed up to the premises in the rain and showed me two units of different sizes so I was able to choose what I needed. It's people like Suzanne and Moriah that understand how important great customer service is and they definitely earned my business. The new manager Tammie reached out after an argument I had with her then leaving a bad review here (which I deleted) . I won't go into details on the argument or the attitudes we both shared with each other. In the end she did get my unit reduced in price as it was way too high. It's still a pretty big pain in the butt only having 9:30am-6pm to get in my unit. Pretty hard hours when you have a day job. This place is horrible. The employees are miserable and hate their lives and take it out on the customers. They yell at you, make ideal threats, and talk down to the consumers. The district manager doesn't care what the employees do, and has no oversight of the business at all. If you call him he won't answer the phone and won't return your phone calls. Hello I would like to give a good review for Tammy at Public Storage in Huntington Beach Ca. on Gothard, she is so helpful and courteous.

Pricing - I started at a reasonable rate, then Public Storage corporate increased my rate more than 50% between months 3 and 6. Started at around $350 and went to $515 for my unit. I would have been happy with a standard yearly rate increase, but I feel their rate increase was too fast and too aggressive. I was able to call and get discounts on months 3, 4, 5 but now I am stuck and they wont approve my requests. I will be vacating my unit soon, will not use public storage again because of their pricing model, and will recommend to others to avoid public storage. read more

This is gonna sound weird but a brother is dead serious. I got a tiny unit because I had spare things to store after moving and the sweet older white lady helped me out a ton. She explained everything honestly and productively and she was super nice. I am a terrible person so I forgot her name but I believe it was Tammy or Tina or something of the sort, evidently she was new but she's rad and y'all should ask for her if y'all can. I've had a storage unit at this location for about two years now and I am glad that I will be moving out of state and closing this account. (Tl;dr at the bottom) In terms of facilities, I never had any issues with the quality or operations of the storage units themselves. As some of the other reviews stated, they changed their operational hours from closing at 9:00pm to closing at 6:00pm. Which makes it a little difficult in being able to get there on time after work to access your unit. Not super detrimental, but impacts most of the people paying for units. I am specifically writing this review is because of the owner/manager. I don't have her specific name, but she is there most of the time and I have been harassed by her on multiple occasions. The first being about six months after renting a unit there. I had just arrived at my unit and started to load some items into it. I noticed that another renter must have spilt a box on the floor and did not pick up some of the remaining items (Q-tips and pennies, weird combo, right?). Not 10 minutes of me being there, she came over to my unit and started asking me if I was going to clean up the mess. I informed her that I had just arrived and that stuff was already there on the floor from another person. She stared at me and asked me again if I was going to clean it up. I reiterated to her that it was not my trash and I am not responsible for it, but as a good person I said I would clean it up anyway. The second time was a few months later. I have a 10x5 unit and had to get to some stuff at the very back of the unit. Well to do this, I have to take most of my items out to gain access to the back. So, I neatly took items out and placed them in the hallway, but being aware of the other units and not blocking any of their doors. The owner/manager then walked in to the hallway of my unit looking at all of my stuff and began to harass me. She started telling me that I cannot have all this stuff in the hallways and that it is a big mess. I informed her that I was trying to get to the back of my unit and that all the items were going to go back in as soon as possible. She then kept saying that I can't have these items here, then she asked my what my unit number was. I told her my unit number and again reiterated that I am not going to permanently leave my stuff out and it's all going back in the unit. She then proceeded to give me a dirty look and asked me if I had paid my rental fees for the month. Really? What does that have to do with anything? She then left and I proceeded about my business. Now comes the third and final straw, which just happened yesterday. I arrived at my unit at around 3:00pm to put away some more items I had. I lost track of time and next thing you know its about 5:30pm and the facility closes at 5:00pm on Sundays. I start putting all of my items away and focus on leaving because I don't want to worry about getting harassed again by the owner/manager. Well, lo and behold she shows up and begins calling over at me. I go over to talk to her and she's immediately reprimanding me for being at the facility past 5:00pm. I apologized and informed her that I was there prior to 5:00pm and lost track of time. I let her know that I was almost finished packing my items and I would be out ASAP. She then began saying that she did not care, that I cannot be there and how I should know the gate hours. Understandable, so I apologized once again and let her know I will get done as fast as possible. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to leave Immediately because the gate closing is at 5:00pm. I told her that I can't leave, because I'm not going to leave all of my personal items out and not have my unit locked. She did not like that response, so she began to yell at me about the same thing and said she was not going to open the gate for me when I was ready to leave and would be locked in. She said that if I wanted to get out or tried to get out, that I would have to call the police (HBPD) to come and I would have to deal with them. I told her again that I wasn't going to leave my items out and proceeded to put them back in my unit. She then walked away and began complaining to her (what I assume to be) husband. 15 minutes go by, I am done and leaving the facility. Of course, after 5:00pm the gate is not operational from the inside. I use the phone app to open the gate and it says it can't, but then offers me the Public Storage after hours help phone number. I give them a call, let them know the situation and then boom, they open the gate for me to leave. Easy peasy lemon squeezy, I move on with my day. Tl;dr: Storage facilities are good quality, but operational hours are difficult to work around. Owner/manager harassed me on multiple occasions and was difficult to deal with. You can find better facilities and customer service at other storage locations. read more

ROBBERS WELCOME! There is no security at this location minus a couple cameras facing the office. My unit was robbed! and talking to other members of the facility this wasn't the first time. You will notice that sometimes the bolts are cut, the locks are cut (circular or not) there is no recourse or security. I mean why wouldn't you hit this unit right next to multiple luxury apartments. I know this isn't the first spree of issues this facility has been having! These things could so easily be fixed by cameras and basic protocols. The shocking lack of security is insane. Tenants have their gates bolted with multiple locks, you can see scratch marks, cuts into bolts and other attempts. To think even a camera could deter this yet Dawn (the district manager) wouldn't even offer that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - YOUR ITEMS ARENT SAFE MIGHT AS WELL LEAVE THEM ON THE CURB. read more

There hasn't been one time that I've gone to my unit that I haven't been harassed by the lady the works there. Or, owns the place? Idk. Then, they changed their hours from closing at 9pm. To closing at 6pm. That's a huge part of why I decided to go with this storage facility. I work until 6. And, I sometimes need to get into my storage after work. Cant do that anymore. There was one evening I was there right up till 9. When I put my code in at the gate it said 9:00pm actually. I got a voicemail the next day from the lady that's always harassing me. Saying that I was 23 seconds passed 9pm. And, she's going to report me to corporate if it happens again. I didn't think she could be serious. 23 seconds? Well, I guess she wasn't. A couple weeks later, I guess I left the gate at 9:00pm and 14 seconds. Got another call! Unbelievable! I told her that I would be able to get in and out quicker if they'd fix the blacktop breaking apart in front of my storage. Seriously, it's left a big hole that is a pain to get passed when moving g anything in or out. Rent has already gone up on me. Haven't even been there a year. My autopay didn't go through once because I forgot to change the account. And, now she's trying to charge me a $45 late fee! For less than a week late. Crazy!! I would've moved storages a long time ago if i didn't hate moving so much. But, its gotten to the point that I'd rather move again than deal with the nonsense here. read more

I ran into some crazy stuff with my ex fiancé and had to basically leave with as much of my stuff as possible in a 40 minute time frame. I also had to make sure I took all my children's stuff. My oh my, as soon as we got there we were helped and everything since that crazy life changing day, my dealings with them have been a breeze. My crazy ex tried to brake into my storage and they handled it beautifully, they were very professional in dealing with such a desperate soul. I also use another storage service from them and would absolutely recommend this location. They are always available (during hours of operation) and every-time I've needed anything they have always helped me. Everyone is so kind and professional. Absolutely happy with their service!!! I especially want to thank Farzana, along with John and honestly just everyone who's helped me there. HORRIBLE!! MGMT DISCRIMINATES! My daughter leased a 10x30 unit here for an emergency move out of a BAD situation. After seeing my "neighbor" at his unit (with his car & his dog) EVERY time I came or went for several consecutive days, I asked him point blank, "Do you live here?" He said, "Yes. There's a few others too. The manager [Farzana] knows & even leaves the bathroom open for us." Over the next few weeks I observed exactly that for myself ... he and three other homeless persons living in their units. At night this place is like a private party with music blaring, beers, dogs running freely, etc. My new residence fell through, leaving me homeless as well. In trying to sell my belongings to get by, I spend most of my time there now, and lately with my dogs too. But Farzana's leniency doesn't apply to me!! EVERY DAY she is harassing me, yelling at me, accusing me of things I didn't do, and threatening to kick me out. WTH?!!!! Yes, I have bent a few rules, I admit, but she didnt enforce ANY rules on the others (guys, btw. Hmm). Yesterday I got a verbal 30-day notice to vacate. No amount of pleading my hardship was considered for a second. And today one of the guys living here accused me of stealing and making my dog poop by his unit (both untrue!), so without asking my side or giving me a fair chance to speak, I was told to leave the property immediately or they were calling the police! They even disabled the gates completely so I can't get in tonight. IF THEY LIKE YOU, YOU & YOUR DOG CAN LIVE HERE AND DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! IF THEY DON'T LIKE YOU, THEY ARE CONSTANTLY HARASSING & ACCUSING TO FIND A WAY TO LOSE YOU. THERE IS SO MUCH WRONG & UNFAIR AT THIS PLACE! My unit has been broken into twice over the last two months. Several thousand dollars worth of property gone. Company doesn't give a shit.

Just had my unit burglarized and ransacked. The horrible management waited 24 hours to alert me of the burglary and left all my belongings in the hallway and didn't even bother to get the lock fixed or put personal items back in the unit. When I arrived they didn't know when they could get someone out to fix the door was was broken to my unit. I waited 5 hours for their required, designated locksmith to come and the district manager Kenneth L. is absolutely useless and refused to prorate my account or move my belongings into another unit. There are also zero surveillance cameras in the premises which I learned the hard way today. Save yourself the aggravation and your belongings- stay away from Public Storage!!! Let me add my voice to the many who find Public Storage a rip-off. I gave notice a week in advance that I was moving out on the second of the month, actually moved out on the first before noon, yet was charged for the entire freaking month! I don't care if that's their policy, it's a lame way to do business. I wanted a refund or credit, but all the PS middle managers I spoke with were equally ignorant of customer satisfaction. Save yourself some grief and money - avoid PS. Just up the street is A1 storage, which is infinitely nicer and infinitely more reasonable that PS. My realtor had actually recommended A1 but I didn't do my homework of looking online for PS reviews, else I would have seen what a ripoff PS is. Just say no! read more

I visited this location to check out a place for my storage needs. When I arrived I was greeted by a wonderful women named Karen she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It was such a breath of fresh air to get such great customer service especially these days. The property was also very neat and orderly. We really need more customer service like this!!! The only complaint I have is this review process is hard to navigate through unless you already have this app for yelp or have to set up a Google email very frustrating I almost gave up. But finally managed to work through it.
