I had been searching for a storage unit in the Irvine/Lake Forest/Laguna area and spoke with her directly. From the very beginning, she was professional, kind, and incredibly helpful. What stood out to me was her thoughtful follow-up--she checked in about a week later, but in a very courteous, non-pushy way, just to see if I was still interested. That level of care and customer service is rare and truly appreciated. Not only was her communication excellent, but the prices she offered were also the most reasonable I found after doing quite a bit of research around the area. The facility itself is top-notch: large, clean, safe, and very well-maintained. Ghizala took the time to explain the entire process clearly, which made everything stress-free for me. I don't normally like to write bad reviews but I definitely wouldn't recommend this storage facility and I'd give 0 stars if possible. I entered the storage unit before 9 pm, grabbed my things and was trying to leave a couple minutes after 9 not knowing that we would be unable to leave with our code. There were no signs around the whole facility or even in our contract saying once it was 9 pm that we would be locked in the gate and unable to get out without 24 hour service. Had I known that I wouldn't have even gone that close to closing. I tried leaving just a couple minutes after 9 but the gate wouldn't open and I had my two young children in the car with me. My fiancé went to the office where the manager lives to ask for assistance but they claimed they were unable to help and didn't have an access code which we found out that they did in fact have a code that worked, they just didn't want to use it to open the gate. They said we had to pay the 24 hour service fee to get out or wait for someone to come in. Later I saw someone coming so we got ready to exit but the person walked through and the gate immediately closed. Then another person came shortly after and did the same thing. The problem was, it was the managers daughter and son in law coming to pick up their 5 kids. When we'd explained that our two young children were in the car crying because they were scared that we couldn't get out we weren't met with understanding or assistance they just rushed away. After that, the manager refused to answer any knocks and we were then forced to pay the 24 hour service fee just to exit the property. Again, if there were any signs letting us know that we couldn't exit after 9, I would not have been there. It was the lack of assistance, professionalism and blatant lies that made us decide to cancel our contract with Public Storage. read more

Absolute rip-off. I set up storage there 2 years ago and was paying $100. Sure, I understand a promotional rate, but it's gone up 100% each year since I've been there. I'm on autopay and never miss a payment, but there's no loyalty. I just got an email saying my rent is going to be nearly $300! Imagine your rent on your home going up 100% yearly, this should be illegal. I understand rent going up maybe 5-10%, but 100% yearly is outrageous. Stay away! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! This place is SKETCHY!! I got "locked in" to a rate when securing my unit over the phone and then not even 6 months later my rent was raised $75 and no reason was provided. In small print on the contract it says they can raise the rate at anytime with 30 days notice so it could go up every month if they wanted. I tried calling to make an appeal and the increase was blamed on corporate. I was given the number to call corporate customer service, but when I called, there is no option to talk to an agent. Bad business to get people to come at a low rate to increase it shortly after. Apparently this isn't abnormal so watch out for other locations as well. read more

I had a large drive-up unit for about 9 months. It is located in a nice area, and I felt my belongings were secure, and so was I when I went to move things around. The light switch for my unit never worked, but I was already moved in by the time I noticed, so it was inaccessible so I didn't bother bringing it up. I will recommend this location to friends in the area if they have any storage needs. Only thing that could have made it better would have been the ability to dispose of any unwanted items on-site instead of having to drive things away to throw out at my home that I no longer needed. Still waiting for elevator to be repaired. Every time I call I am told a different opening date. It has been down since November. This is ridiculous! Such bad customer service. However they were offering new customers a higher price break since the elevator was down. What about existing customers. The office hours posted on their website say that the office open from 9:30 AM until 6:00 PM. I was working in my storage space yesterday at about 3:00 PM and had to use the restroom which I was told was public when I rented the space. The door was locked. No one was inside. I went to the office. That door also was locked and no one was inside. I called the phone number for the facility and it was answered by someone who didn't work at the facility. She said the resident manager wasn't available. If you're going to advertise your hours on your website, you should have someone in the office during those hours and if someone is not, the door to the 'PUBLIC' restroom should be unlocked. The restroom is behind the secured gate, so unless people climb over the wall to access the restroom, the people wanting to use it are customers or people who have been granted access. This was my first time ever storing anything in my entire life! I was worried, but Ghizala showed me all the ins and outs! I'm sure storage units are generally pretty similar, but what stood out to me was the fantastic service that Ghizala showed me with her patience, cheerfulness, competence, and care for my needs as a customer. I would definitely recommend Public Storage because they seem like they are really out to help you out! I took advantage of a great deal they are offering for $1 first month promotion with a $24 admin fee, there is also a $11 mandatory insurance charge as well. I was so grateful to her during my move because first off I kept pushing the time of arrival because my move took way longer than expected, second we reserved a unit I thought would suffice but when movers arrived they said no way- Bigger unit!! I had three bad experiences over the phone with Public Storage, but before I gave up I went to the property in person and was pleasantly surprised. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE - my storage unit was turned upside down and anything and everything that held value WAS STOLEN. ALL my boxes were FULLY open and RIPPED apart. I would not wish this upon my worst enemy. DO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT HERE because I promise you, you will regret it. My lock was locked back up after my storage unit was turned inside out as though THEY HAD THE KEY TO MY UNIT. They are DEFINITELY NOT TRUSTWORTHY AT ALL and there are NO CAMERAS inside to find out what had happened. Only cameras are in their own office & at the entrance door which apparently has remained open for quite some time. Ghizala is very helpful for the need I have since I rented a unit several years ago in this location. Recently, I found my locker and key did not function smoothly, and she kindly helped me to change the locker with no additional charge. Overall it is a safe place for storage in my experience although it is an old building. downside: after years, it seems that the increased rent of the unit does not benefit the long-term user much. read more

Ghizala or "G" is great! So friendly and helpful. The storage units are nice and clean. My unit is interior second level. There are large elevators and dollies that make moving much easier. I have a 5x10 unit, the ceiling has got to be at least 10-12' high so I have a sectional couch on its side sticking straight up and boxes piled high, a dining table, entertainment center, king mattress and box springs...you can really make the most of the space. It is gated so I feel safe going at night and there are lights in the hallways so you aren't left in the dark. Got a great deal on this unit. It isn't near where we currently live but we couldn't pass up the price. The storage unit is near a Costco and the Irvine Spectrum so we always make it a 2 for 1 trip. read more

We've been to other public storages and this one had them all beat on pricing. I don't know if it's because of location, either way it's not far from the freeway. With that said, the amount of money I'm saving throughout the year out-weights the "5 minute drive" from the freeway to get here. Plus the staff has always been very helpful here. read more
