We just recently left this storage place of business after 5 years. We get a call the following day from Gina the manager indicating that our unit was left dirty. I don't understand what was the purpose to call after the fact we just removed all of our belongings. I understand there might be some small debris or dust left over. Gina made it seem it was an uncanny thing to see after someone leaves a unit. I promise you have more than enough time to tidy if something was left behind. What ever happened with telling yourself "Can I live with it!" You have to do better Gina! This is not the type of call you expect but the opposite. read more

Here we go again with the good, bad, and ugly. Let's start with the bad. I take ownership on this. I should have written this review at least 6 weeks ago (maybe a little longer than that) so yep, BAD - that's me. I'm not usually a procrastinator but work life has a way to creep in and alter personal life. But it's never to late so here it goes... The good! We couldn't find the code to get into the facility, we couldn't find the key to open the locker, and we couldn't find the lift. What a mess!!! I am mashing two back to back times we went there. With that said, customer service, both times was exceptional. I mean they couldn't have been any nicer or patient with us two broads. The second time Gina Silva helped us. When we told her about the first time she said it was probably her son who helped us the first time, Mykall Johnston. I told her it might have been because he was just as nice and helpful as she was. He cut off our lock (lost key) and then had to drill the hole on the door latch to accommodate the larger lock we purchased. He didn't mumble under his breath, he didn't roll his eyes, he simply smiled and said it wasn't a problem. What a trooper he was. Gina, the second time, showed us where to park close to the lift, and she went back to get us the key so I could borrow the hand cart (I think that's what it's called). If that wasn't testing someone's patience with us enough, we couldn't remember the storage unit number. Oh my, so embarrassing. I honestly have a great memory - but not that day. Again, went back to the office and Gina helped. To put an exclamation point on this review - when we were leaving the facility I wrote down the wrong code and she came back out of the office to help. Jezze-Louise, by now I am beat red embarrassed. There is nothing ugly to report. Just great customer service and a very clean storage facility. Thank you Gina and Mykall! read more

This is the second time we've used this facility. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with - some of which are just about the greatest thing since Bubblegum! The facility is straight forward and basic. Units are not climate controlled. Spacious and clean. Hand trucks are available, however, you'll need to have them unlocked with a key via front office. Otherwise, no issues and again - a great facility to use! read more

To be fair I've never had a bad interactions with the staff until today. The facility is pretty clean and well maintained but they operate using unscrupulous business tactics. 56% PRICE INCREASE I've been there a for about half a year and just received my SECOND price increase, adding to a whopping 56% increase. Which I received no notice of. When I first asked about it, they admitted that they offer low prices to fill up, and then increase once at higher capacity. Not a happy customer. Beware.. There are plenty of other storage facility's that wont take advantage of you! I found a BIGGER unit for CHEAPER at Public Storage in Laguna Hills down the street off Moulton...AND it was on the 1st floor vs. being on the 2nd. So do your research, compare and wait for the sales. There are better options for public storage in Aliso Viejo. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORAGE COMPANY! In October (2009) I placed a phone call to this company to reserve an 18' x 10' storage unit. Given the amount of items we needed to store, I calculated that this would be exactly what we needed...nothing more, nothing less. I informed the person (Kim) who sold me the unit that I would not be present while our items were moved so I took her word that we were going to receive exactly what she mentioned, an 18' x 10' unit (or 180 Sq. Ft). When I arrived, one week after the move in date, I was informed that not all of our belongings fit in the unit. Considering everything fit in the (approx) 180 Sq Ft moving truck, I was shocked! Come to find out, there was a floor to ceiling cut out of approximately 20 Sq Ft (4' x 5') which appears to be from stairs behind my unit. Of course I was upset that I was "SOLD" an 18'x10' (180 Sq Ft) unit OVER THE PHONE but was delivered something more like 160 Sq Ft! The cost was $270/month for the unit. I went to Kim and mentioned that I was less than happy about the perceived 'bait and switch'. I mentioned that this unit is 12.5% LESS than what I was SOLD so I felt it only fair that my monthly payment be reduced by the same percentage ($33.75). Kim (manager) spoke with her manager (also named Kim) and came back with an offer of $10 discount! I countered with $20/mo discount, since they clearly agreed with me (with their first offer) that what I was SOLD was not what was received however they refuse to adequately compensate me. I have yet to get a "manager" to SPEAK with me to resolve this issue. I'm not asking for anything other than what is logically fair. Hopefully I wont be using their service for very long. However, it sure would be nice to get adequate compensation for my inconvenience. SO, if they would like to work with me on this, Ill be MORE THAN HAPPY to post their positive response and change my rating. Otherwise, this review will be marked as a 1 star (because you cant select 0). read more

I got a 5x7.5 unit about a year ago. Never missed a bill or was ever late. Always clean in my unit and courteous. I've heard horror stories of customers who didn't pay or were constantly late and harassing for an extension. Then I got a letter for a rent raise. Upset, I called and asked for my rent to stay the same (we're talking 5-8$/month)....they refused, instead they offered a weak compromise. I denied. And for their $5-$8/month stubbornish ways, they lost $68/month and have an empty unit instead. It's a good thing too...I found a BIGGER unit for CHEAPER at Public Storage in Laguna Hills down the street off Moulton...AND it was on the 1st floor vs. being on the 2nd. So do your research, compare and wait for the sales. There is better to be had out there for public storage in Aliso Viejo. Kim and her husband, for what it's worth, were very nice during my stay, but ownership needs to take a class in economics.... read more

Answering Kim: 1) I NEVER reserved the place, Scott did. That's number one! He also came to your office the first day and complained cause the unit was under a stairway which had taken a good portion of the corner so it was not the true size. 2) We came to the office before moving anything in, asked for a manager and explained our concern BUT we were told that there are NO other units available for the size we wanted. They however offered a bigger size unit which was a lot more expensive, also we DID ask to get a discount for the Inconvenient AND We even asked for our money back so we could go somewhere else but of course lack of customer service and our demands were not met. read more

My husband and I have used various storage facilities over the years and this was the best experience we have had. Kim and her husband, Al, were helpful and accommodating several times as we had to look at various storage units to determine the size and are people who normally ask many questions. And when we were in the process of moving our items to our unit, we forgot several items such as a ladder. Kim was happy to allow us to use their ladder which saved us a trip back to our home. At one point, we incurred a problem with the elevator and they were right there to solve the problem and get it to work properly so we could finish our move. I would highly recommend this storage facility to anyone as the on site management team is professional, customer service oriented, patient, helpful and was there for us when we incurred a problem. Therefore we give them 5 stars! Wish we would have found Stor-It in Aliso Viejo sooner then this year! read more

I just moved here and found this storage facility online. I really feel like I struck gold with this place. I have mainly dealt with Jim and Jimmy. They have been so very helpful from day one and made my move so much easier and smooth. They have great recommendations for moving companies and good advice on what you need for a unit. The actual grounds are extremely clean and very well taken care of. There is a man who lives on site which is a huge comfort to know my unit has that added protection. 10 stars for customer service and 10 stars for the actual facility!!!! read more

RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. Helping a friend in a terrible situation, I loaded my car full and showed up at Stor-it in Aliso Viejo expecting to unload. It's 4th of July, and they are closed. Nothing on their website indicates they are closed on holidays. Had called earlier and no mention of it in their voicemail. That's disappointing, but what really bothered me is when I arrived, the manager was just leaving. She came over to my car and rudely informed me of the closure. Naturally, I asked if an exception could be made. I'm not surprised the answer was no, but she was just snotty. Telling me, "you were told! You signed a contract." No lady, I didn't sign anything and checking your website and calling you gave me no indication of the holiday closure. I haven't gotten into the facility, so I don't know the condition of the storage unit, but unless you're desperate, I'd suggest trying some other place where they speak to their customers respectfully. read more

What a giant racket!!! I began renting from Stor-It in April and "supposedly" was notified of my over 10% rent increase after only a few months of renting, starting the VERY next month. In truth, the only way I found out about the rent hike was in checking my automatic debits for the rent where I noticed that they jacked it up. The other reviewers on here tell the same story and it makes no sense! I paid good money ($198 for a 10x10) to rent my unit and it apparently is worth $24 a month to lose a client like me who pays automatically and every month. Their costs do not go up, THEY ARE A STORAGE FACILITY! But however many people that they can get away with because they are unaware until it is too late...just sad. As I told them, I hope my unit sits for 6 months and eats away at their horrible business practices! Bring back integrity...puh...lease! read more
