If you are looking for any type of customer service DO NOT expect to get it at this location. I have been beyond frustrated with the current situation that is going on with my account. We have been customers at this location for over 10 years and we decided to down size this month and move to a smaller unit. We were told that in doing so we would be credited back the difference on the amount we had already paid for the month. Instead, we were charged an additional $320 for I don't know what, but have not been able to have anyone in the office or in management resolve this. First of all, the district manager who I have been told is the ONLY PERSON who can address this issue does not return phone calls or email messages. I have attempted to contact someone else but their automated system keeps directing me back to the property manager who tells me to contact the district manager. HOW FRUSTRATING! All I am looking to get is a credit back on this money but instead it seems that there is something else going on. My online account which just yesterday showed the additional payment somehow TODAY DOES NOT. But the money is still not credited back to me, so what are they trying to cover up? At this point I am beyond frustrated and as soon as I can get this resolved we will be looking elsewhere for a place to store our items. I cannot continue to give my business to a company who has such little regard for their customers. read more

I have to say, this location gets my top score. The staff is extremely nice and helpful while I was here shopping for storage units. The manager was super understanding and patient while she explained everything to me & the assistant manager gave me a great tour of the grounds to show me the different units. The place was very clean and I felt totally safe storing my stuff in this gated facilities. Plus the place is conveniently located and easy to find. They got a customer here for sure! read more

Dim lighting and a lot of lights are broken. Management ignored changing light request. Make sure you bring a flash light when you go to this storage facility. The maintenance request was sent and asked multiple times and even the employee said the district manager was sitting on the request and I should go to corporate to file a formal complaint. If I could give this place a negative 1 million stars I would. Tony at the front desk is an absolute NIGHTMARE. I walk in to rent a unit and he already has an attitude. Then I tell him I'll need a 10 by 10 and he tries to sell me a 7 by 10, which my stuff BARELY fit in a 10 by 10. Apparently this location doesn't have internet so you can't get the online prices, which Tony didn't explain he just yelled at me that he couldn't help me and to just "go online and do it myself because he didn't care what happened to my stuff or where I stored it." He told me he didn't like when customers came into the office, that he'd rather just sit there in peace and never rent out any unit. HORRIBLE customer service. And when he got really snarky with me I asked to speak with his manager in which he told me, "He was supposed to be here 2 hours ago and he didn't even freaking call me, I'm like a slave here, always at someone's orders. You can call him if you want." On another issue, I called the district manager to tell him how AWFUL Tony is. Called him a few days ago and still no returned phone call. What does it take just to be treated nice at this place?!?!?! I don't get it. I'll be getting my belongings out as soon as I take advantage of the 1$ first months rent. If I could give this property zero stars, that would be my vote. They could not be less helpful. I was quotes a rate of $72 upon move in and 2.5 months later, they are still charging me $95 a month (plus an $11 insurance fee that they conveniently hide until the last second). I've called the property, the district manager and customer service no less than 20 times, every time explaining my situation from the beginning, and being patient with every individual on the phone. I read everything online and spoke to a representative at the 800 number. Yes, they were helpful and friendly but still I found discrepancies in what I read and what I was told and also when checking my account online. When dealing with them in person, one employee told my daughter buying insurance was manditory, another told me we would pay for the entire month even if we were only there for 2 days of that month. I drove 120 miles because they would not allow me to remove the unneeded insurance by phone, or online, only to find they would not refund it. At this time I had paid all rent due up to my move-out date. Today the online account is warning me to pay the entire month after my move out date so I don't get charged a late fee. I believe this company is DELIBERATELY DECEPTIVE. read more

The employees at this public storage location are extremely friendly, they were super helpful with helping me find my storage space on the property, after not visiting my space for a couple of years. Tony, in particular, was extremely helpful and spirited on the job, continually going the extra mile to provide assistance for me and my parents. I would definitely recommend this public storage location to my friends and family because of their super helpful staff, climate-controlled storage spaces, and easy accessibility from parking to the storage spaces. read more

I agree with Connie, Monique is the BEST! I've been to several Public Storage facilities and rented from 2, but Monique the BEST employee of P.S. that I've ever met. She is helpful, kind and honest about what you're getting. I appreciate that she was informative about pricing and options without pushing an up-sell on me. I did rent from another nearby P.S. location b/c the space was significantly lower for the couple months I need the storage, but again, I agree with Connie I would have rather rented with Monique because she was so much more personable without being a "salesperson". Sadly, I have to save $$$ where I can. (***** 5 STARS for Monique! Give her a raise public storage!*****) The units are clean and the security of the property feels more solid than other storage places. Everything is kept up and they have a good selection of unit sizes. Not the cheapest place around but a very solid choice. If you need a climate controlled unit (for preservation of textiles or various art supplies, antiques etc) this is one of the few companies that provides that option. ********************************************************************************************************************* My 3 Stars are for P.S. itself. They are NOT a company that cares about customer loyalty AT ALL. They're only interested in hooking new customers with their 1st month promotions. I have a space over on Jefferson Rd. and they jacked up my rent by 17% after only 6 months in my space! The employees at that location gave me your run of the mill "we can't explain when they'll raise rent, it's corporate" non-explanation. I rented from P.S. in Berkeley, CA for several years and only had my rent increase by a small percentage each year, once a year. I also had to deal with the bureaucracy/semantics of not being able to get the 1st month promotional rate for my new space in Irvine when I moved down from Berkeley. Because I had moved out of my unit up north less than 7 days prior I wasn't "qualified". So I waited that extra 5 days to move in because it saved me over $100 to do so, but it was a huge inconvenience. I was also told that my partner couldn't sign up instead of me to "qualify" for the rate because he was with me when I had this ridiculous conversation with the employees at P.S. I understand that P.S doesn't want people hopping from location to location every month to "scam" the $1 or 50% 1st month deals, but honestly, who has the time to space hop that much!? Wouldn't it be more logical to perhaps give a leeway of say a 50 mile radius? Or a 2-3 month minimum commitment to qualify if you have had/have another unit? People do move significant distances and do need to take their things with them. When we do move we have to pay the current rental rate of the new location any way. In the end P.S. is coming out on top anyway. I had an employee of an unnamed location in CA tell me that P.S. make $200,000 a MONTH on that location alone in rentals. Sooooo P.S. ain't hurtin for money at all. Due to my experiences this past year with P.S the corporation, I'm trying to downsize quickly enough to get rid of this unit and stop giving my money to Public Storage. For $260 a month I could find a new apartment with an extra room for my own onsite storage. read more

The rate here is a little higher than most and the insurance fee, along with the one time administrative fee would scare most costumer away. However this place is very clean and secure. By far easiest and most convenient storage in OC area!! Tony was so funny and warm and made my move in so quick and enjoyable! The staff all were so helpful and sweet. They care about their customers! didn't have to even walk far to my storage! It's safe and my belongings remained intact. BE CAREFUL!!!! Within one month of moving my items into this storage facility, my lock was picked and my storage locker was burglarized! They even took mine and my wife's wedding gifts! This area is not secure location and please DO NOT use the cylinder lock they provide. Easily picked! Had Irvine PD generate a police report and CSI came to take any finger prints on boxes. The CSI office told us that these locks are very easily picked. If you have a storage unit here please buy your own lock, preferably a cylinder combination lock. read more

Pulled the good ol' bait and switch on me. I reserved an online promotion for a 10x15. When I arrived they gave me the choice between a 10x15 with a tiny door or a 10x15 with 2 doors. The 2 doors one they needed a cylinder lock on it and of course they were happy to sell you two for $20 a piece. Checked back online and all the promotions were gone and of course for a higher rate now. read more

What an unbelievably rude jerk on the front desk. I was let into the facility by someone who has a unit there to pick up some things from her. When I went to leave I assumed the gate would automatically open. It didn't. I don't have a code so I used the intercom. No one answered. So I left my car and went into the office where a guy was sitting there doing nothing. I explained I need to get out after visiting someone. He asked what I was doing there. I explained again I was visiting someone. He asked me the number of my unit. AGAIN - I said I don't have one, I'm visiting someone! He then said they have to let me out. REALLY??! It's too much trouble for you to hit the damn button?! I'm trying to get OUT, not break in! I'm hardly a security risk! At that point someone came in to the facility and the gate started to open. Bingo! I was able to get out. No thanks to the jerk behind the desk. Well, unfortunately for you I was also looking for a storage facility. Definitely won't be coming here now. read more

I came into this location after we had a family member pass and needed to find a storage solution until we could more thoroughly deal with things. I had never had to store anything before and really didn't know what to expect. I found this location to be clean, well lit and very accessible. The staff was very professional and helpful. Manager "Barbara" walked me through the facility and helped me decide which storage unit would best fit our needs (I had no idea on size, etc). She got me a great deal and answered all my questions. A household emergency made securing a storage unit top priority last Sunday. Knew we had a Public Storage right around the corner, so I jumped online to check things out. I was able to reserve a storage unit that for our needs within minutes online. When I drove to the facility, John was waiting for me and took me around to the location of the size unit I had reserved. Another slightly larger unit was also available nearby that also fell under the $1 special and I was asked if I'd be interested in that one. No pressure, no up sell. I took the larger unit and within minutes (because I had completed a lot of the pertinent information online) the paperwork was done. John was very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate renting a storage unit from this facility, which, by the way, is SPOTLESS. I felt very safe here. read more

I had to decide between 2 places in Irvine for storage and picked this location because John was so friendly on the phone. He has great customer service and I appreciated his efforts to make the process easy. The reason I didn't give this location 4 stars is because the monthly payment process was complicated. I tried to pay by credit card and it didn't work. John was not the person who serviced me the other times I came in and I felt that the other representatives did not have the same level of great customer service. read more

She even ran the lock to my unit (the right lock wasn't on it) for me. There was also a holiday special where the first month is $1, which was great!
