Straight forward on storage places. I can't give it a perfect score as I find it pretty average. So far, it is what it is. Typical prices that keep creeping up as time passes and the shared airflow of neighbors which can't be helped. Many times, I entered wondering what a certain smell was but, people will store what they want to store and we can't help that. I try to keep all my stuff bagged and covered because of that shared airspace. I found one of my wood pieces damaged by the door earlier after the move as if someone opened and closed the door on it without looking down. I have the only key on my side and am very meticulous so I know it was not me. I like the climate controls and the cleanliness overall on the facility. I think it's worth the extra money to keep things here rather than the standard storage options out there. Just make sure your stuff is properly stored and away from the door area. read more

Be very, very aware that you will not be told when you rent from Public Storage that they will raise your monthly rate in 6 months and in 12 months. This 1 star review has absolutely ZERO reflection on Jeff, the very kind CSR who works there. This is a 1 star rating for Public Storage's non-transparent, bait and switch business model. You will fill your unit and pay $96 a month like we did, and 6 months later get an email that the monthly rent is now $130. And you will see your EXACT SAME sized unit being advertised for the price you were just paying. It's shameful to not be upfront and let people know this when they are first inquiring about renting. It's called being transparent. It's having an ethical business model. Had my husband and I known that, we would have had the choice as consumers to shop around. But we know now, and I wrote this review so that other potential renters will know too, since Public Storage won't be telling them. read more

The location is fine and and facility is average but I would only use them if you know it's for a limited time. Our rental rates have jumped about 25% every year This is not a long time solution. Also, the entire faculty smells like mothballs so your possessions will absorb that smell when you decide to move out. read more

Easy process renting online and super helpful in person service.

The facility is actually very nice and the location was perfect for me. You know what isn't perfect? Unethical business practices. I had my unit for less than 2 years and the rent was increased 4 times in that short period. You can read other reviews - lots of other reviews - that support my experience. I would not rent a storage unit from this company again, and would encourage others to avoid this company, too. There are other, much more ethical storage solutions out there. Companies whose practice it is to bait and switch their customers, especially during hard economic times, do NOT deserve your business! read more

I rented here for over a year the price was raised shortly after a few months . I was to move out April 1st and because of limited hours it took me longer, now they want to turn me into collections for another months rent. I've been laid off and income is short. This location is conveniently located off freeway with easy truck turnaround. Has climate controlled units for roughly same cost as some non-climate controlled competitors. Nice office staff; friendly and accommodating. Elevator is somewhat slow/inefficient since it needs a code entered each time. read more

This is a clean storage and the location was very convenient for us. Easy to purchase and operate. Office hours are only until 6:00 PM but one can access the units until short before 9:00 PM. Please don't forget that the lock you purchase (and which is specifically made for their locking doors) is YOURS to keep and needs to be removed when vacating. We made the mistake to not take it away until the next day and we almost got charged with he rent for next month. But Meagan (facility manager) and Kevin (regional director) understood our small hiccup and refunded us the amount. All in all we had a very pleasant experience. read more

I have been continually disappointed with not just how this Public Storage location operates but the entire company, all the way to the corporate level. Throughout the year, the monthly cost increases without notifying you. I'd BEWARE. When I asked the District Manager, Jason about this, his response was that the monthly premiums increased so that they can accommodate the new clients with the deal of $1 the first month. I understand, as a business owner myself, that you want to bring in new clientele, however, you're in business because of the existing, loyal customers. I was very unimpressed with their reasoning on why monthly costs increase. We had storage unit #0547 and from March-July, the hallway ballast light was completely out, leaving not only the hallway but the storage unit extremely dark. I've called in to the front office multiple times and keep getting directed to the District Manager Jason. Month after month, Brandon and Jason both tell me that they're getting it fixed. Month after month, I go in there to grab items from the storage unit and it's still broken. I finally ask for a discount or refund for the inconvenience and all they give is $25 off. Our storage unit was completely dark and inoperable. Not only that but I informed Jason that I was pregnant and in my third trimester during the entire time it was dark and that it was hard for me to get around as it was, let alone the unit and hallway being dark. Jason actually hung up on me during one of our conversations and wouldn't return my calls. This was absolutely unacceptable behavior from a District Manager, along with being so disrespectful and unprofessional. I then called the main corporate office and have spoken to many representatives. All I was asking was that someone above Jason would contact me and assist me with the challenges I've been facing for months. No one returned my call from the main corporate office. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse. At move out, I was not informed to take out the lock and key. I locked it up like normal, contacted Megan at the front office and told her we'd be vacating as of July 15, 2017. She said not a problem, the automatic monthly drafts will cease. Come August 1st, I see a draft from my account for my storage unit for the month of August! I called and said we had vacated since July 15th as discussed. Megan said that because the storage unit was locked, they assumed it was still occupied. I had to go to a nearby Public Storage here in San Jose, sign paperwork and have them fax it to the Kirkland location. I then asked for a refund since clearly we were out of the unit. She said we were being charged for the whole month of August! Even though they could easily rent it out to another client (which they probably did) and prorate them for the unit. Obviously this company is all about their money and not their service or their customers. I would highly recommend going somewhere else to store your belongings and things that matter to you. I have been so disappointed by staff, management, corporate, and customer service. This company operates solely by taking money from their clients and do not handle matters professionally, ethically and clearly do not value their loyal, existing customers. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about doing business with Public Storage, for I do not want any other family or individual to go through what we've experienced with Public Storage as a whole. read more

Beware the "special" pricing. You can plan that as soon as the promotional period is over and your stuff is all packed up, they'll absolutely raise the price on you. And it will keep going up over time. Also, having multiple storage lockers with these guys doesn't lower the price by way of the usual volume break. Ask about this if and when you sign up.....Also, they never clean the doors or the ground outside the outdoor storage units. So you'll find clumps of moss growing around the bottom of the doors and grime there so you're raising and lowering the doors by the grimy parts. The numbers above the units haven't been painted in years and many of them are impossible to read.... read more

When we went it to purchase moving goods we paid more for the convenience of going here but we were also sold on the "box package" and that if we had left over boxes we could return them. I went it with the receipt and the clerk was like - oh I don't see any on this receipt which clearly showed the box package. After spending $200 there she wouldn't take back the 6 boxes left and did it in such a facetious manner. Normally I'd push it but then I wouldn't be able to give a bad review. My company recently downsized from a large storage unit (10x25) to one of the smaller ones (5x10). Allie, the woman at the front desk was very accommodating and took the time to show us multiple units before we made a decision. During our move she also provided us with water bottles since it was 90 degrees that day. No complaints. Facility was well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and customer service was great on the rare occasions I needed to interact in person or on the phone. Moving in and moving out was simple. Bottom line: Would have given a five star review, but docked 1 star because it started to feel like it was too expensive. Used this facility about five years ago and was completely satisfied. There must have been a change of management, as the place is now dirty with dust everywhere. Don't go there if you have allergies. They also took down the security gate, so anyone can dive in any time, day or night. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. Attempted to reserve a unit at this location and did it all online. Received a call from location the day before we needed to complete the reservation advising our special would expire unless we came in right away to sign documents. Advised we did not have time to do that and I was under assumption it was all done online. She had TERRIBLE customer service skills and changed her name twice throughout the call when I asked for her manager. Another idiot, John, called later in day and said reservation was cancelled. I also left a message for their District Manager, which shocker, has yet to return my call. We rented the unit 2 months ago, didn't use it until 2 weeks ago. We came back today with movers. The key that Public Storage sold to us and installed (used one time) broke in the lock. We weren't too worried because when we rented the unit, Tim, the associate told us they could drill the lock if anything happened. Unfortunately he didn't tell is that that is only the case if the manager is working which is business hours Monday through Friday. Of course most of us come to our units after hours and on the weekends, so that isn't much help. We were not even given the courtesy of a name of a locksmith that they've used before or offered to wait inside (it is pouring down rain). We are waiting in our car , I'm writing this as we are still waiting for a locksmith, 2 hours later...movers still on the clock I might add. Think twice before renting here. There are other storage facilities in Kirkland and they are franchises, so I'm hopeful that they would treat customers with more respect and help. read more
