I came into collect some infant items we stored in between kids and found rice and rat poison in our belongings (an infant bouncer). Reached out to corporate and was told someone would call within 72 hours, and left a survey indicating what I found. Nobody has reached out. And I have four other units here! But oh well, rodents in your unit, nothing we can do about that. If I could leave a negative star rating I would. My unit was burglarized by an employee over labor day weekend in 2020. The "management" would not provide security footage or even return my calls. I lost thousands of dollars in equipment. I am a home builder and the thieves stole ladders, paint sprayers, pressure washer (1), and other misc. hand tools. This was an effort that required much time and inside knowledge of business operations, gate key codes and the use of a large truck or van. No investigation was ever conducted, and they refused to cooperate with the Kirkland PD. Oct- 2021- Unit burglarized for a second time. No response from management and no cooperation with the police department again. Super sketchy and super slimy. You can't find any information on owners, or regional managers. This is a ghost company that is slimy and not concerned with customer safety or communication. The 5 star reviews are obviously manufactured. If your bill is over 10 days late, they will cut your locks and send you an "impending lien notice". As a customer of 6 years and having just normal financial situations from time to time, it happened to me 4 times. Beware. This is a not a place you want to use to store your belongings. My husband and I can't say enough good things about the property manager, James Mckenzie. Ever since he took over, this place is run like a tight ship. He is easy to talk to and answers all of our questions with a smile. We store an RV on the premises, and he notified us that although the shade was closed, we left the passenger window open. We didn't even notice it and are so grateful that James is on top of things and is looking out for the property stored there. He takes pride in keeping this Public Storage facility clean and in order. In the past year we have seen him handle customers, cut blackberry bushes, and mop floors. I think he does anything and everything to make this a top storage location. We are very happy with his customer service and management style, but the most important thing is that we feel our property is safe and secure. read more

Got a spot reserved in advance online for the same-day. Got a panicked voicemail from Public Storage that was 3 minutes long about how they didn't know if they would have space, enough boxes, was I really coming in that day, etc. I called back and spoke with someone else who said everything was fine and they had space. Arrived at the store and got a big song and dance. Basically, you are told online you get 1 month for $25 for a storage unit that will hold 1 bedroom full of items, but when you show up to the store, they require $19.99 for a padlock immediately, payment for an additional month's rent of $103, required insurance, and a service charge. They don't tell you about the cost of the padlock until you've already taken the golf cart ride around the property, ridden the elevator into the storage building and are shown the unit you're renting. "If you don't have a padlock RIGHT NOW, then you can't rent the unit." Brilliant. I told them we weren't moving anything into the unit, just wanted to rent it that day. They still required insurance and the padlock to be purchased immediately. I took care of it because this was for work and not on my dime, else I would have said screw it. Access to the unit is available only during the day, so not convenient if you are in need of getting to your stuff at night. read more

I don't recommend going here, when moving out, they do not prorate the rent. No matter when you move out, you pay the entire month's rent. When I moved in, I used online to book my original unit and needed to upgrade to a larger unit, was not available to do online, I had to call them and was not given the online price (charged considerably more because I didn't do it online, even though it is not available). They tried to charge me an additional $35 for the remaining balance on a unit I never used (I upgraded). read more

We closed our storage space on April 1st and was informed we would receive a phone of what the amount of the final bill. However we did not receive a phone call or mail notification. On June 10th, we received a phone call from a Collections Agency of the remaining balance we owe. We tried talking to the Public Storage customer service rep informing them we did not receive any notifications. They acknowledge they didn't attempt to notify their customer nor did they seem to care. Don't waste your time here if you don't have to!!!! read more

I recently made several trips into this Public Storage to purchase moving boxes and one trip to return some boxes I ended up not using. Each and every time I came in, despite it being during a pandemic, every employee I dealt with was friendly, personable and knowledgeable about the products they carried. I specifically want to give a shout out to Christy and the lovely brunette who were working the day I came in to return a few boxes I ended up not using. I happened to come in at a very inopportune time (right after they had received instructions to close the store unexpectedly during business hours) and they both very professionally and very quickly made sure I got my return processed and got the heck out of there in a very expedient manner. :) All while being absolutely calm about the whole situation. - Parked a trailer here for three weeks. Actual footprint was smaller than advertised, and the trailer barely fit. "It's what we got." These things aren't difficult to measure and advertise correctly. - Trailer was broken into, $8000 of tools were stolen. There's a reason we didn't park it at the Shell Station - security is kind of a big deal. - Camera footage not available - front desk says that the security cameras only film *after hours* and only if the motion detector sets them off. Again, security is a big deal. Hard drives are cheap - nobody uses VHS tapes anymore. - A week after our trailer was hit, a second break-in attempt failed, but the trailer next to ours was hit - and no footage available for those guys either. Broke the lease and moved elsewhere. Lack of security was the key reason, but the apathy of management to address any of these concerns made it an easy decision to leave. read more

It's their way or the highway apparently! I reserved a unit online. The online reservation said I could arrived anytime on move-in date to finalize rental, just needed to be during time office is open. Not so at this location, Maager Brandon called immediately and informed me I had to set an appointment time on move-in date. I had to set a firm time or no reservation was the message I got loud and clear, despite what the website and emailed reservation states. I couldn't do this because of work going on at my house so need a little flexibility. Apparently not at this place!! Poor customer service! One day later I get a call from district manager Jesse attempting to "fix" situation. Says he heard from "customer service" about a problem. I did send response to survey and emailed company directly. He asks what happened, I proceed to tell him, then during conversation he let slip he was there when Brandon was speaking to me! What!!! He know what went on all along and was playing some rope a dope game on the phone! How unethical can you be! Didn't feel the need to call me until I complained directly to corporate, what a shady company. AVOID this company. I went to MONEY SAVER MINI STORAGE (425) 825-9160 instead, great customer service and 100% better experience. read more

Terrible experience, I rather donate & throw away all of my belongings & become a minimalist than ever work with this company again. As most other negative reviews say: what they advertise is not what you're getting. They force you to purchase a lock, and "required" insurance (found out months later that you can actually remove the insurance online) which from other reviews doesn't even protect your belongings. We have not received any contact about "further charges" as Anonymous A. hadn't. They do not do auto-pay by default, and will charge daily if you miss rent. Many voicemails we left were without response. Moving out the unit is a nightmare if you are for any reason not in-town. Because of COVID-19, I lost my job (the entire business was failing), and had to move in with an out-of-state relative. I couldn't cover rent for just one month, & the fees were over the rent cost. Paid over double the cost for only one month. read more

Very positive move-in experience! I reserved the unit online and I was able to stroll in the next afternoon and move my stuff right in after a quick tour of the unit and some paperwork. Rodney was very helpful in going through all of the documents precisely and efficiently and making sure I had everything I needed. I appreciate when companies give good customer service but also don't waste my time, so I was very happy that this process went so quickly and easily. Very dissatisfied with my experience obtaining a storage unit at this location. After going online over a week ago, receiving 2 confirmation calls and voice mails, and a confirmation email, when I arrived for my 10am appointment no one was to be found on site and the office was locked. Waited some time while trying to call the location phone number, but voicemail is all I was able to reach. I put a call into the corporate line and was referred to leave a message for the District Manager on his voice mail. After over 2 hours, was finally contacted to reschedule for same day. And after all of my inconvenience I experienced today, there no offer made to reimburse me for my time loss today, I would have settled for something as simple as waiving the lock fee, but nothing but a "I'm sorry" from the clerk that assisted me. I don't plan on keeping my stuff stored here any longer than necessary and will be leaving reviews to prepare others for their storage needs research. read more

The only drawback is that I have two storage spaces, one here and one a block away. after six months, the rate goes up with one month notice. Every one I talk to it is the same thing that happens. I really prefer this location at the corner of by the Rite Aid and going up the hill by the Ford dealer. I selected this specific Public Storage unit ONLY because of the awesome customer care Rodney had. He was a gem. Unfortunately by the time I had to close and leave, I found out that Rodney was replaced and the new guy Sean was disappointing. He was rude and LOUD! And did not honor the return of a blanket that I was promised that I could return if I did not need it at the end of the term. Sean just disregarded the commitment they promised. I paid over 300 dollars in storage fees .. what was a return of one unused blanket still in packaging among many other packing supplies I had bought from them such a big deal that he decided to sacrifice customer satisfaction. I will definitely NOT be going back anymore and if you have to use this place .. unfortunately you will no longer have the excellent service as it had before!! read more

As well a few months back, the lock on my unit was changed by management and broke. They tried to charge me for it, and I had to call corp. to complain and have them fix it. I have made numerous visits to Public Storage as we have been packing up our house to move. I have been helped by a young man named Rodney three times and have been very impressed with him! He was not merely helpful or just competent at his job. He went out of his way to save me money in my purchases by encouraging me to buy enough boxes in each purchase to trigger discounts on my purchases. He helped me think of several items I would have forgotten to purchase without his questions. Also, he remembered me each time and made me feel as though he valued my business! Packing up a household after 21 years is quite stressful, but Rodney made this part of the process much easier with all his help. He was also quite courteous in helping me load my supplies into my vehicle each time I visited. Hopefully he works today as well because I need more tape. We are renting a Public Storage unit in Long Beach, CA where we are moving. I really hope the employees at that facility are even half as good as the great service Rodney has provided! read more

***********WATER DAMAGE*********** Sold my home and rented a unit until I purchased a new place. I rented the largest unit and specifically asked for something indoors because I wanted my furniture to be in a climate controlled environment. I received a call that water was leaking into a unit above mine and that I might want to check it out. Sure enough water was pouring off the rafters and dripping on my furniture. Based on the amount of water damage this had been going on for sometime. When I asked to move some of my damaged furniture to another unit and out of the way of the leak, I was told I needed to wait because the person helping me didn't have the authority to make that decision. I was really disappointed and had to escalate my conversation to someone else in order to get help. Set-up and ease of renting a unit is fine, but looking for that same level of customer service when something goes wrong is disappointing. Be cautious renting a unit, make sure there is no evidence of water leaks or damage around the floors or on the beams overhead. We suspect the gutters and roof aren't maintained properly and so far they accept no ownership in the matter. Yikes!!! read more

I began renting a small (5x5) unit here in February 2006, when a fire in my apartment building forced me to, very quickly, downsize from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom apartment. They were very accommodating and made a difficult time easier...I moved my stuff in, and all was well. Until April 2012, when I was contacted by the Bellevue Police at 2 o'clock one morning. The officer said he had someone in custody who had a temporary driver's license with my name and date of birth listed on it, and did I know of anyone who should have that information? Long story short, my storage unit had been broken into by a ring of identity thieves who had rented a unit in this Public Storage and broken into a number of units in the storage facility. When I went to check on the unit, at least a quarter of my stuff was gone, including two CPU's (joke's on them, the hard drives had died). Other boxes were still there, but had been forcibly cut open. Fortunately, they decided that my grandmother's picture and other family momentos weren't worth taking. The thing that gets me is, when I went to PS to report this in 2012, they weren't at all surprised. They knew that there had been break-ins, they said, and had been taking measures to make things more secure. No storage facility can be held responsible for every movement of every renter, right? I get that - that's why we have insurance on our units. I also get that I shouldn't have been storing stuff with that kind of information in a storage unit - lesson learned. However, why did I have to find out that my unit had been broken into by the police? A quick call or email - "hey, some of our units have been broken into, you should probably check your stuff" - would have been nice. And when I went to check my unit, the thieves had hacked off my lock and replaced it with another one, so my key didn't work anymore. Guess who had to pay $25 to hack off the thieves' lock and install a new one? Again, a "sorry we didn't protect your stuff like you paid us to - we'll pay to replace the lock" would have been nice. Apparently there's new management now, who were sympathetic to the situation and have made some security changes (e.g., all new cylinder locks which are much more difficult to hack). According to the Bellevue police (and then the Redmond police, who contacted me when they found more of my stuff in a hotel room there about a month later), most if not all of that ring is in jail. However, given my experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to store your stuff...I don't anymore. read more

The manager Chris made my experience a one star and he wasn't even the one helping me - he was micromanaging the sweet and professional young man who I was talking to. I found it completely annoying that every question I asked the guy who was helping me , Chris would jump in with his two cents, which seemed to always involve charging me more. He tried to charge me a higher rate than I was quoted online, which I fought him on and got it. However, I was unable to get my first months rent for the unit for a dollar. If you plan on going into this location, stay away from Chris if you can because he will try to screw you every way he can. read more
