I rented this 10 x 10 unit out from the public storage on beach Boulevard and Lambert. Not only did they change the price on me within the year of renting it, they change the gate hours claiming that they had sent me an email February 10 (lie) when I called after our services I received an insane amount of attitude from a female representative who was constantly huffing and puffing at any question that I asked her all she cared was to get me off the phone. She stated the gate hours were changed and that she saw I received an email and when I asked her to prove it to me she couldn't come up with anything. So now I'm back here again the next day within "new gate hours" and I come to find out the elevators don't work (my storage unit is on the third floor) And the doors are locked in the stairwell. This place is poorly managed and the upkeep in the building is disgusting! read more

You need to listen to and do what your Customer tells you to do. Your CEO can tighten his belt and absorb some losses. Your upper management can take a pay cut. Do this NOW to please the Customer (me): 1. Remove ALL fees. Every payment I make is "on time", now do what you are told and remove them ALL. 2. Lower the price back. It is a shameful abuse to RAISE THE PRICE DURING A PANDEMIC, particularly once the Customer has TOLD YOU NOT TO. DO THIS RIGHT NOW. Your wealthy corporation has MORE THAN DOUBLED THE PRICE FOR THE SAME PRODUCT. 3. Refund my overpayments. Make me whole dating back to your price increase. 4. Replace my lock. This place is awful... DO NOT RENT HERE !!!! They could careless about customer service they changed their gate hours without telling their cumstoers so its difficult to get there by 6:00 pm. They keep increasing the rent. The gates is broken half the time. The entire staff there is awful to deal with they make it clear that they don't care if you stay a customer or not. My favorite comment is "you can always move out" when we all know moving is such an ordeal and no one want to do it ...... so they play of that fact and treat their customers like SHIT!!!!!!!! read more

Just left public storage and I am so happy. This is my second time getting a storage unit with them and both times have been super easy and fast. You can register online once you call to reserve your storage unit which makes it super convenient. I called at 3:40pm had a bunch of madness going on and yet still made it with 30 mins to spare to get my stuff moved in the unit! read more

I came to get into my unit and found that my lock was "jammed". The manager, Matt, tried to get it undone. He eventually gave me a replacement lock and arranged to have the old one cut off. When i was finally able to get into my unit I discovered that it had been broken into and some of my electronics had been stolen! I was then told by management that there had been a series of break ins in previous months where they were cutting and replacing locks. PD told me while making the report that there had been 15-20 breakins between january and march. I called customer service to complain about not being informed that there had been a series of issues at the property they did not care! They said they would do nothing about my complaint and stated that it was their policy. Don't rent here if you value your belongings!!! read more

I rented a 10' x 15' unit on the third floor. Because the unit is located on the third floor, it took our movers a very long time to move everything from our house into the space. This was our fault for not thinking that through. After six months of renting the space, I was notified by mail that our rent would be increasing from $250 to $332. That's a 33% increase! It's ridiculous that there is no regulation for rent increase for storage units. It was a great ordeal moving our stuff into the storage unit. They know it's not easy to move to another storage unit and that we have no choice to either accept the increase or spend a lot of money to move to another storage unit. What a scam. read more

For starters the prices keep going up. I pay double from when I began using them 5 years ago. Now that I want to clear my unit out and asked for the District Manager to cut the lock (misplaced key) the manager is on vacation and I have to wait. Problem is I am live out of state and am only here for a few days to conduct business and this was part of it. Most reputable places would leave an alternate person in charge and now I have to fly back again do deal with this. Now I have to give them my hard earned $$ for another month. Do not rent here !!!!! go to the lambert public storage down the street. Been renting here for a long time. Used to be a great place open til 9pm until they changed hours to 9am-4pm . Then they hike up your rent every few months . They lie and say they will be changing hours back to the later times but they never do. Run far far from this place . any place that cuts hours and charges you more doesn't deserve your business. read more

I am in disbelief that this place actually has 4 stars with 35 reviews. I have rented more than a dozen storage units throughout my life and I would rate it by far the worst. I chose it because I could get a 10x10 with an online rate of $104 with only $1 for my first rent. I pulled it up on Googlemaps and it looked like a reasonable distance from the 5 so somewhat easy access. Only there is nothing easy or convenience about this center. 1. It's about 4.5 miles from the freeway and with traffic it seemed much farther. Still... good rate. I decided to live with that. 2. Only one parking spot by the office (unless you qualify for the handicapped parking) and every time I was there, the parking was occupied. 3. Minor inconvenience but you actually park and walk over to enter your key code. I've always been able to reach the keypads from my driver's window. 4. Access only available when the office is open. Not convenient since most people also work during their office hours. 5. Very dimly lit with timer controls. I've only rented from one other place that had such dim lighting. This is a big issue when there isn't lighting in the units themselves. I was told that there is always plenty of light to see inside the units, but this is just not the case. I used the flashlight on my phone to make sure I didn't leave anything behind when I moved out. Also, if you're a woman and have ever walked the halls of a dimly lit storage building, it's creepy! 6. Poor access and availability of cart (notice that was singular - they have ONE). You have to go park your car and then walk back to the office. Hand over your driver's license to get their small cart. We're not talking taking a few steps. It's literally walking all the way around their building. Now if they're not otherwise occupied, they will open the exit gate so that you do not have to walk all the way around to get back to your car and unit entrance. Keep in mind, you still have to bring the cart back and then get back to your car. 7. Now this is the one that just took me over the edge and was my deal breaker - having gotten their one small cart from the office, I loaded it up twice with large plastic tubs from my car. But when I got to the building/unit entrance, I noted that there is an actually step to get up inside and to the elevator. No ramp. No gentle incline. And not even the kind of step that you can get a running start and 'jump' the cart up. I had to physically lift one side of the cart up the step while loaded down with heavy boxes. Are you kidding me? And this was just my first load. All the really heavy stuff was yet to come. 8. When I decided dealing with their setup, processes, limited access and complete and total lack of convenience was just not worth the money I was saving, I went back to move out my things. That's when I found out that they only have one cart and it was already in use. Apparently one of their elevators wasn't working. Thankfully not the one closest to my unit. But it did require me to hand-carry all of my things to my car. Seriously nothing about this place has the renter in mind. Everything about my experience was the opposite of convenient. The place I decided not to move from has code entry from your car, more than enough carts of varying sizes at each elevator so you literally have door-to-door assistance with what you need to move (no office visit required), motion-censored and bright lighting and access from 5am until 9pm. I'm paying $50 more and it is worth every penny! I've rented storage that I wasn't completely satisfied, but this was the bottom of the barrel for me! read more

I've had a storage unit at this facility for over two years. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. On a recent visit, Krystle was very friendly and helpful in taking me through the steps to close one of the units I was renting. I felt very well taken care of and confident that everything was handled swiftly and accurately. The only reason this is not "as good as it gets" is that some of the cement on the incline leading up to the elevator is cracked, which slows me down when I'm moving stuff on my dolly. But it's certainly not enough of a concern to me to look for another location. One suggestion I'd have for this facility, is to have a water vending machine somewhere on the premises. In the office? By the elevators? There has to be a secure place for one. Especially during the summer when people are moving stuff back and forth, having access to buying a bottle of water would really save the day. read more

This place has fantastic customer service and great pricing. My only complaint is that the gate access hours are severely limited. I don't really understand why. The sign says that it's due to maintenance but it doesn't say when it will be opened back up to the extended hours and it seems to have been that way for awhile. And by severely limited I mean 9-6, not the usual 6ish to 9. It seems to only be open when the office hours are open, which is really weird. I'm not sure if they've had problems with theft or something, and maybe that's why, but it's more than a little inconvenient. Honestly, if I'd known that beforehand, I would have chosen a different location with more accommodating gate hours. Other than that though, the people who work there are top notch. read more

Do NOT rent from this location! I have been a tenet here for almost 4 years now and all was fine until Tuesday, July 24th. I received a call before they closed stating there had been a sprinkler leak and my unit may or may not have been affected and I needed to come down. I went down there and learned that the incident happened on Monday, July 23rd and they waited to notify tenants. They changed the gate code so paying tenants could NOT access their belonging without signing a release stating they would not sue for damages. I refused to sign the document until I saw my things, but they refused me entry. We are now on day 5 of being locked out of my unit and I still unsure if my things were or were not damaged. My belongings that I legally own are being held hostage by this facility. When you call the corporate office, they just tell you that they cannot help you and that you need to take it up with the property management. If you want your personal belongings held from you until you sign away your rights, then this is definitely the location you want to rent from. Otherwise... Go anywhere else that will not illegally hold your property from you! read more
