I'm being generous by giving this storage facility one star. These guys run the building on the cheap. They lack sufficient dollies for you to use so when more than two people need one, you have to wait. The elevators are constantly broken or under repair, causing a safety and security hazard. The grounds are unkept and messy. I would not recommend using this facility. read more

I went into this public storage needing receipts from 2014, and A was EXTREMELY helpful! If I could give 6 stars I would! He took over an hour out of his day to help me retrieve these receipts. This was my second time storing at public storage. Last time was at the San Juan location. Both times I was assisted by Glen. I have found him to be knowledgable, friendly, and efficient. This time I also dealt with Sitara. She was very capable and kind. Be Warned!! Public Storage corporation does not understand the meaning of customer service. I went online 3 days before I was moving and reserved a storage unit. I originally reserved one unit at Laguna Hills; however, a day later I reserved a larger unit at Cabot Rd. Both sites did call me to confirm my reservations. The representative at Laguna Hills actually finalized and agreed the one at Cabot Rd. would better suit my needs, so she cancelled the Laguna Hills location. The representative at the Cabot Rd. location contacted me on two occasions (one to confirm the reservation and the second time to schedule a time for my arrival). I awoke at 6:00 am to drive 2 hours to arrive in Laguna Niguel at Cabot Rd. location. The office does not open until 9:30 am each day, so I waited a half an hour to set up everything. Granted I had already done the express check-in online. When I went into the office, the representative explained that she would need to walk and show me the unit - which took 20 minutes and then I would complete my paperwork. I read over everything, gave my driver's license and credit card. The representative then called her superior, Lizanne, District Manager, and they were chatting about the fact that I already had an account (which I thought was in my daughter's name since she receives the emails from Public Storage about the unit). I was then told that I would not be able to rent the unit for the half-price clearance amount). There was no further discussion. I was in disbelief - first off no one ever explained that on the phone (and there was no indication of that information) on the website when I reserved the space (when I actually clicked to reserve). I then asked for Lizanne's superior, and they could not give me his exact name. I then spent 10 minutes calling the corporate office and no one could transfer me to the next level of management. In the meantime, Lizanne called, didn't offer any consolidation of the time that I had spent and no one took the time to tell me originally that I would not be able to rent at the half price discounted amount. She gave me her superior's name, Brian, Senior Regional Manager, and he left me a message. No one with Public Storage showed empathy and never offered anything, not even 50% off the first month. I took vacation from work to travel to Laguna Niguel to move my personal belongings. I spent time reserving the unit(s), talking with the representatives, traveling to the Public Storage on Cabot Road and then was not able to unpack my personal belongings, which are still loaded in my car. Yes, I could have taken the unit at the full price which would have been $142 per month versus $72.00 but it was the principal of the thing. There was no further discussion and no empathy that I had spent all that time. I am a repeat customer and have rented 3 storage units in the last 12 months (it's in their system). You would think because of my time and travel they would have offered some type of consolation. Public Storage senior management needs to re-train their staff members on customer service and streamline their processes. If someone would have explained to me early on (over the phone) that I would not receive a discount (even though I thought I was a valued customer since I've rented their units many times through the years), that would have been fine. I would have searched another storage facility in the area. read more

Stay way from these thieves! I rent a Public Storage unit and have been using automatic payment with my credit card. I had to replace my credit card and I called the corporate office and the storage office ahead of the due date to give them my new credit card #. They told me that could only be done personally. I can only go after hours when the office is not open. I made the effort to go there when the office was scheduled to be open but the office was not open because the office attendant's duties includes to pick up the trash around the facility. So, today I made the extra effort to get there before the office closed. To my surprise they charge me a 1,800% per annum late fee on the rent charge, which is prepaid. Yes, if I had paid by the 10th, it would had been $439, but since I paid on the 13th, they charge me 1,800% per annum for the extra 3 days. That is $439 x 1,800% x 3 days : 360 days = $65.85 of late fee because they are in the past century and things can only be done personally and when the office opens around the attendant's schedule to pick up the trash. Great rule you guys have: increase the rent at your will, save in personnel, and drain the customer as much as possible. I so am looking forward to the day I can get out of this self storage. I am going to post this 1,800% all over the internet to see if someone has had anything worse happen to them. Look for another storage, this is not a good choice. They are getting one start only because I have to give them something. read more

organized staff, when cleaning out and closing my account, Glenn was efficient and made sure that I got the credits that were due.

I executed my first contract with this location in 2009. In spite of several negative experiences I stuck with them. During the rain storm towards the end of November they became aware of a leak in my units roof. They took no remedial action to stop the water flowing into my unit. I w/ keep this to the point, after speaking with the on sight employee and the district manager I realized they have no moral compass. They are Corporately corrupt and I would not wish on them or my worst enemy the duress they caused me or my family. So I spoke by moving down the street with my content damaged and all. They wouldn't even let me leave the water soaked cardboard boxes that were empty behind. They wouldn't even move us to a temporary unit at a like rate while our unit was repaired. Every excuse was "well we are following Corporate guidelines" and I was mis-guided enough to think that 5 years of continuous business had some value to them and their stock holders. read more
