Worst storage facility ever. I've been a customer here for years. My unit has been broken into, the elevators never work or smell like weed all the time, I've been stuck in the elevator more than once, there are never any carts available, and if you think it's a solo incident; the police investigating my storage unit hasn't even been able to reach anyone to obtain footage...it's been 4 months and no cooperation from this company to help. Worst staff as well! When my unit was broken into I call 3 times, left voice mail and NEVER got a call back. They are thieves out for one thing your $200 every month and screw you if you have a bad experience because they know you need some place to store your junk. read more

So, I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about this place. They have been housing some of my belongings that I have not had room for since about 2015, possibly 2014. I started off paying $100 a month plus $11 for their forced insurance. I am now paying $149 plus $11 for their forced insurance. If you can't tell, I'm bitter about their so-called insurance. Several years ago my unit was broken into. I did not know this until I attempted to get into my unit with my key. It turned out that the key didn't work with the lock the criminals had so kindly bestowed on me. I quickly found out that this was no mistake. My unit had been broken into and I immediately noticed my washer and drier were stolen. Initially, I thought that was all. However, upon further inspection, I found a foot locker given to me by my mother and owned by and taken with a relative in WWII was also stolen. It had many boxes of baseball cards, but also had a lot of sentimental items in it. Things I made from school and items from first communion and confirmation. Porcelain dolls that had a story to go along with them. Trophies and ribbons. Swimming meet journals, a time book, and a stopwatch. Tee-shirts from special events. A massage table I used as a massage therapist had also been stolen. Several bins with product in them were also gone. Needless to say, I was heart broken. I immediately went to the office to report it. I was unable to say when this had happened, as I don't sit there and hangout with my belongings on the weekends, but I did expect this place to protect my belongings. The answer I got was, "The insurance isn't going to help you. You have to prove you owned the item." So, basically, I should have taken pictures of all the items I put in there, a 5 x 10 unit filed from front to back and top to bottom with my belongings. Basically, I had to suck it up. All these years later, I am still sad when I think about those sentimental items that were stolen from me and most likely trashed, because they held no value to the jerk who broke into my unit. So, yes, I am bitter about paying $11 a month for insurance that won't cover me. I am also bitter about spending $160 a month for a place whose security is far less than stellar and whose lot is constantly broken down and trashy. I cannot tell you how many times I have driven up to the gate only to find the gate wide open. Forget a lock! Walk in with a bolt cutter and you can get into ANY unit. And, if you have half a brain, you can also look up how to pick a lock on You Tube. It doesn't matter what kind of lock you have, but you, as a renter, are required to either buy a lock or rent one of theirs. No, but they are not required to ensure the safety of the lot, to protect your things that you so faithfully, and expensively, stored there. If you are thinking about storing your belongings here, don't! Run fast and far away from this place! If you have belongings here, get them out! I plan on moving all my things out soon now that I live in a house. read more

The number of unhoused individuals who use building G always made me very nervous, would not recommend loading or unloading unit after dark. Carts rarely be available. Loose drugs and paraphernalia and/or empty alcohol containers is disconcerting. Graffiti and broken elevators made visit, move-in, and move out difficult and uncomfortable. Would not have kept that space if I had another option. Payment increase of $39 per month in less than two years. I would avoid if you have any other option. read more

Long-time customer for more than 5 years......over the last 2 years my rent has gone up 100%. Corporate policy is to raise rent every 6 to 12 months. If you complain they will delay those increases for 6 months but you can only request such deferral once every 12 months so your rent is going up EVERY 12-8 months regardless. In addition, I was vandalized during COVID ad got NO ASSISTANCE from regional manager, local management or corporate. BUYER BEWARE - rental agreement states NOT to store valuables, heirlooms, etc. and there is only $5,000 inn coverage even IF you can meet all the criteria of filing a claim: complete itemized police report with value of each item, pictures and/or receipts to prove ownership and value and all the usual complications of an insurance claim. BOTTOM LINE: You are better off to find another option or different storage company! read more

I'm shocked they have a link to review them on Yelp. This is the worst storage facility I've ever used, and I've had a fair number of them over the years. They are rude, incompetent, expensive and their technology doesn't work correctly. I wanted a second storage unit (a parking spot) at the same facility, but they couldn't figure out how to add it to my existing account, so they created a new account for me using a false email (that was their recommendation). After charging me incorrectly and locking me out of my original online account, I promptly decided to park my second vehicle somewhere else instead of here. When I called because I was locked out of the storage facility (couldn't access my original unit), the person I spoke with was a brat. He was rude and took forever to reply to my voicemails when I was at the facility waiting (they apparently don't have anyone onsite). I'm moving out of here soon and will not return. I started an agreement in September 2021 for a 10X15 unit for $130/month. I was apparently sent a notice saying my price would increase 30 days ago -- it increased to $180/month this month ... about 40% of an increase. I've called customer service, and they directed me to a section in the contract that basically says they can increase prices to any amount whenever they want with 30 days notice. Given their contract, this leaves you with potentially a day to notify them that you want out at the end of the next month. I left a message with their executive team to get a call back. Waiting on this. Also, carts are impossible to find at this location. This type of business model is predatory and completely ridiculous. read more

I was notified my lock was missing from my unit. The employee who called stated they secured the unit with their own lock and i could could come replace it with my own if I wanted. I asked for confirmation that my items were still in the unit and they said yes, and gave me a verbal rundown of what was present. When I showed up to replace my lock, they had not secured the unit and my items were missing. When I called back, the woman on the phone LIED and said she was the one who called originally (when I spoke to a male originally??) And that no one confirmed my items or said they secured the unit. While some of the employees are extremely nice the blatant disrespect and disregard I experienced at this location has made me unwilling to deal with Public Storage ever again. read more

first unit had a non working freight elevator and I had to find a new unit because I'm pregnant and my things are too heavy to lug upstairs. I went through the same company (public storage) but still had to pay an administrative fee (so two total) and pay for a lock which I already had. also unit said it was 5'x5' but it's rectangular shaped and pretty sure it's 5'x 4' . read more

On Jan 1st my storage on the 3rd floor of an indoor unit was broken into. After filing police report, also contacted the facility. What I learned was that their security, beyond a gate code which everyone in Denver seems to know based on other reviews, is non-existent. The one 'camera' is pretty much for show - it by no means does anything and without a full-on investigation by police will not be released - which has about a zero percent chance of happening since police are not going to respond on-site to a storage break in - even when firearms were taken (in my case they were). Facility's only response was 'contact your insurance'. A 'sorry' or other acknowledgment would have been appreciated. Moved my stuff out to another facility with better security. Learned a big lesson here. read more

PS is the worst.. go somewhere else. They up your rent after your first month without notifying you - this is our second unit with them (shame on us) but both times they increased our agreed rent by at least 40$ after our first month. It's apparently everybody's first day that works there, literally was told that by the only two people working there. Secondly the carts that are supposedly included can't be used because they lost the keys. I started my lease in the middle of the month, told the gentlemen I spoke with I wouldn't even be there a month and was no problem but paid the entire month, eluding to the fact my rent would be due every month on that day so if I left no problem, then get a condescending text "reminding" me I'll get late fees if I don't pay on the first... AGAIN. And that was the second condescending text I got as one night I left literally TWO MINUTES after nine and was told you better be out by nine. They've been nothing but worthless and a pain in the a**. If I could give them negative stars I would. read more

Reasons not to do business with this Public Storage location: 1) Possible inside theft ring? We had roughly $1,000 worth of items stolen from the interior of our camper. Heavy items. Nothing you could toss over the fence or easily carry far. Keep reading reviews. Theft is a serious issue here. We have previously stored our camper on W. Colfax. Pretty crappy customer service by the office staff. The guy who showed us our unit told us how often the place gets broken into - not really inspiring confidence in our possessions being stored there, thanks. Then when we wanted to transfer units, we were told by the office manager we could call in and have the unit reserved for a week. When we called in, all of a sudden, we can't have a unit reserved for a week even though there is one available. Also, they have an alarm system but if no one is in the office, you won't get notified that your items have been stolen until the next time they come in. It doesn't really seem like the alarm system really works, anyway. The alarm system has gone off when we've gone into our unit (not sure why, but it did) and no one came out to check. We are definitely moving to a local storage business and to a place that actually cares about their customers and their possessions. read more

Jacob was very knowledgeable and friendly. I asked a lot of questions and he was patient with me through it all. Once I decided on a 10x15 unit he walked me up to see it. When we opened the door we found that there is a supporting beam right through the unit, and he offered to find me a new unit but it wasn't taking up too much space so I let it go. He told me their maps don't show those, so that's a bit annoying for them and the customer. I like that everything is digital now and I received emails at every step. We'll see how the move out process will be later but for now it's pretty good. read more

This storage unit facility has been a very unpleasant experience. The staff is rude and does not take responsibility for their errors. Not to mention they will yell at the customer and hang up on them when they are upset. Very unprofessional and needs to reevaluate how to provide customer service especially when there is a conflict. I have worked in the service industry for a long time and I would never treat a customer they way I have been treated by this facility. IF you want to keep your stuff safe, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. 9 of us were robbed on the same night. Front desk did nothing to assist. Called police to file a report. They said they are out there all the time filling out reports for theft. Police suspect an inside job. We lost over $10,000 worth of stuff. Management refused to give police surveillance tapes. Renter Beware! When something happens once a pattern it doesn't make, but when it happens twice in the period of one year it is clearly a pattern driven by a company policy. Four month after renting a 10x30 unit I was informed that my rental rate was being adjusted upward by 15%. Per the lease agreement Public Storage has the right to adjust the renter's rate once per year. Shortly after the rate increase I moved into a smaller unit to reduce my monthly expense. You guessed it 4 months after moving into the smaller 10x20 unit I just received notice that my rental rate is being increased by 21%. Do you see a pattern here? I do. If you are looking to rent a unit be forewarned that your rate will very likely also be notable increased as to reflect the local "market rate" for storage units. I find it interesting that rents are never reduced when the market is over built, but I digress. I will spare you the story about how the rate for my 10x20 unit ended up being more than I was quoted by the employee; they made a mistake in quoting me the rate and I was the one that got to pay for their mistake. The representative was not even willing to accept responsibility for their mistake. The short of it: expect your rental rate to be increased by 15-20% within 3-6 months of moving into your unit. Public Storage knows full well that once you are all moved into your unit the pain and expense of relocating to another storage provider is significant. Renter beware! read more

I haven't had my stuff stored long, but the experience getting in initially was good. Rachael was friendly and efficient. The sales pitch on the lock was kinda overkill but I didn't care since I was there, wasn't looking to nickel and dime, and just wanted to get the deal done ASAP. The facility stays pretty clean. While the access hours are 6a-9p, I had no problem letting the people helping me in after hours when I was inside already. As for the comments about break-ins, they aren't reassuring, but how is that the fault of Public Storage? I've used them for an inside unit several years ago and had no problems. Ish happens and that's what insurance is for. It would be unfortunate, but then it would save me the trouble of getting rid of the stuff... read more

I have an indoor unit that is climate-controlled and has suited my needs. No complaints there. I can't speak to the friendliness of staff since I haven't interacted with them many times. Just be prepared for the cost to be higher than anticipated when you sign-up. Your rate will also go up after 6 months, so eventually long-term storage of your goods will be cost-prohibitive. read more

They climb up above the units cut the wires - jump down into the units - steal stuff then go back up the same way and put the wires back together....! On Saturday June 22nd we were dropping off our ski equipment in our storage unit in building G. The West Cedar Dr gate was broken and had to enter via the main gate off S Union Blvd. While storing our skis between 12-1pm someone with a trailer backed into the drivers side rear bumper of our Mini Copper Countryman. We approached the manager on duty Rose and she called the Lakewood Police to create a police report. We choose the facility because they advertised they had a great video surveillance system, and was told by Rose that they had just upgraded their system. The police office contacted us a few days later saying they didn't have video footage and that Rose was no longer at the facility...suspicious. We have a large auto deductible in order to keep our rates low and the estimate is less then our deductible. We'd highly recommend that anyone considering renting from this facility don't as units have been vandalized and there is obviously no video surveillance even though they show cameras in the lobby and placed throughout the complex. We are taking them to small claims court in order to have them either pay for the damages OR release the video footage so the Lakewood Police can complete their investigation. read more

I had a pretty poor experience in there today with a rude employee and or property manager not sure what the persons position was, as they never bothered to identify themselves. I booked a unit over the phone a day before. The next day I get a rude phone call super early in the morning from the same person, saying I missed a 10am appt. and that my reservation would be vacated if I did not call them by 1pm. The funny thing is I never told anyone when I was coming I just said I would stop in at some point to pay for my new unit etc. In fact I told them not to call me, but they still did. It was a really bizarre call/maybe sales tactic to upsell me? Not sure. When I got near there I got a bit lost and the same person who called me refused to give me any help with directions on finding the location other than to repeat the address condescendingly over and over again over the phone. When I got to office the same person refused to explain pricing, refused to explain why their 3rd party company that books their reservations gave me totally inaccurate info about pricing, what the fees included etc. She clearly did not care about retaining my business. I left without renting a unit. Just awful customer service on every level. I know that it's just Public Storage, and that no one is going there for the 5 star service they are going there for a storage space which is a pretty independent thing but come on at least provide some basic level of human decency. read more

I was in Denver to pick up a car I bought from auction and it ended up by running well enough to drive it home. I was frantically trying to figure out finding a trailer to get it back to Durango. A quick google search led me to an available parking space at Public Storage. It was after 5 when I made the reservation, 540 when I arrived-just twenty minutes from closing. I had expected staff to be at least a little annoyed but was so pleasantly surprised by how pleasant and kind and helpful Billie and Shellie were. They got me in the system quickly, walked me to the parking spot and explained everything perfectly. The whole experience was so stress-free and nice. I feel safe leaving my car there for a week or two, and I'm so happy with how affordable it was. I can't say enough good about the staff and the business as a whole. These guys deserve all the stars. Lousy indiffernt and rude treatment by Carmen after our and several other units were broken into the previous night. When I went to talk to her I said that our unit had been broken into, her reply "yeah". They have recently had multiple units burglarized and never notified any other tenants. She told me it was due to privacy .Obviously she does not concern herself with my or my wife's privacy, we had to go through our tax returns and other personal info and remove it from the unit. She then proceeded to tell me "We don't notify tenants because it could be you that is doing it" I would recommend not using Public Storage because of a lack of concern for their tenants security. read more

We had our stuff store here for a few months. Getting our reservation set up and moving in was easy enough. Our unit was in the farthest building, on the top, almost as far away as you can get. Fortunately, they allow you to use their carts for free, as long as you give them your ID. The area between the two building is busy on the weekends, and most people are curteous. Their policy states to move out by 3pm, but they don't really seem to check on the unit at that time. The billing was standard and they did everything they were supposed to with that. I wouldn't mind coming back here if I need my stuff stored again. read more

Service was good with friendly staff. Deb checked me in. The storage building entrances could use a good sweeping, but my unit was clean. They recommend their more secure lock for 19.99 + tax but we can keep the lock when we vacate. I'm a little concerned about the reviews on security and I won't go to my 3rd floor unit after hours or without my husband. But in today's society you can't be too careful. read more
