The year has been the worst customer service I've received. I been a customer with Public Storage for two years now. Within those years I received excellent service, from a customer service reminder to a face contact with a customer services train representative in the parti location. it's was great up until last few months. I've been great, up until last few months. I dint see the team members anymore I get rude a management. Let me explain. I've been late a few times. I pay the bill ofc but I get hung up lecture to locking jd out of my own unit. yes you heard me..."no access to my unit" by the site manager. who hardly ever there. she lectures me about nonsense which I told her im leaving this location. Los Alamitos PS bc of the bad treatment I get from her. She is rude. I had a conversation with her today acc told im moving out of the unit in a few days. my son in drove all the way from irvine to get my stuff out after her heard about her. once her arrived he could not get access to my unit because she denied me. She called me "girl" I'm a sound liue teenager. Terrible terrible treatment. I made thousands of dollars here at Public Storage. I miss the great service. but now it's trash service. She needs to fired asap fir trashing a cutover do wrong. read more

Alondra was extremely helpful when I was down sizing to a smaller unit. She physically walked me through how to get from one area to another. Sounds simple but there are hidden steps involved for safety reasons. She has been excellent about staying on top of paperwork and follow up. They are lucky to have her! read more

We have been here for one year and we got robbed, no one seemed to care or help and then they upped our rent twice in 12 months to $400. Just ridiculous. Do not feel safe here. No one is ever around to help. They lock the dolleys up now. I would rather rent elsewhere. read more

People are nice who actually work there but I only rented this place 3 months ago at a rate of 361 a month plus 15 for "insurance." After only 3 months they tell me they are now increasing my rate to 484 a month plus the 15 for a whopping total of 499 a month (a 34% increase)!! Total bait and switch! They get you in with a low rate and then once you're settled you get hit with the rate increase. What a total scam!! I expected a lot better from this place. read more

If I could use negative stars I would. There was a break in three days before I was sent a message and the message was a generic lie that said they did a regular check of the facility and found my unit unlocked! They actually found my unit crow barred open, vandalized, and rummaged through. They called several other people the day of the event but only sent me an email three days after. They have been unhelpful and lied about the event and previous break ins. The police officer who took my report told us there have been many many break ins at this facility and he suggested we move our stuff. There are many choices in this area for storage needs and if I were you I would stay clear of this place!!!!!! read more

BREAK-IN ALERT! One of the most unsafe facilities to store your belongings. Our 10x10 unit was broken into and the facility has no information on the person responsible. Their security camera captured a person of interest on the night of the incident, but the regional manager failed to investigate, file a report or even notify the police. We were told that we had to come in and deal with it ourselves by filing a police report, but unfortunately we are out of state so recovering our stuff is becoming less and less likely with everyday that goes by. Now there is no record other than some "internal notes" according to their management. No help or cooperation from Public Storage or it's Regional Manager was offered and no incident report was provided so we are completely in the dark. On top of everything, our rent has gone from $120 to an outrageous $200 in the first 12 months. So now we are paying $200/Mo and do not know if our stuff is still there on not. Public Storage has been a huge disappointment and we would not recommend it if you value your belongings. read more

I have my unit at another PS location. But I come to this location to make my payment. Usually there is always someone in the office here. Unlike other locations. I actually drive a little further because I can count on getting my payment taken care of every time. I don't have to wait 20-40 mins for someone to come into the office or drive back later. Just got a call that my unit was broken into. I live out of state and of course I have many questions and the person I spoke to has no answers for me and eventually hung up the phone on me. I have called back several times and no one is answering. So here I am sitting hundreds of miles away and have no idea what is missing from my unit. Everything or nothing. I asked if they can send me photos or just one so I have an idea is the unit empty or not. They said they cannot. Then I asked if I can send a family member to look and also a no. The guys name I spoke to is Nick and the girl hung up when I asked for her name. They are very unprofessional. Nick even suggested that maybe I shouldn't be so far away from my belongings when I asked him what other options do I have. I can't just take off from work and buy a plane ticket without knowing the severity. read more

My families stuff was stolen here after 4 years. They sale scam insurance which they own Theyy have no camera surveillance or Security guards. The police who took the report when my 89 year old disabled mother in laws stuff was stolen said this is a common occurrence here. If the lock is picked the insurance is worthless! I've had storage units here for years. When I tried to move out the elevator broke. My movers will have to return another day and PS charges for an entire additional month rent! The ceiling is falling down onto my stuff in all the units. Extra Space Storage is MUCH nicer! read more

I'm giving two stars for good, helpful customer service & cleanliness but if I based this review on customer loyalty rewards or price I would give it NEGATIVE stars if possible. Every 6 months to a year you'll get a postcard. They thank you for being a great customer and oh, by the way, they're raising your rate. You can try to reason with the "higher ups" but you'll hit a brick wall. It doesn't matter if you've been there for over 10 years & paid on time every month you will pay more when that postcard comes and boy does it become expensive! I mean I could have built a house with what I wound up paying them after all was said and done. True, no one had a gun to my head but once you're in you stay in. It's like you're a Storage Zombie, unable to reason yourself out of the situation. My suggestions: Short Term, OK. Longer than a year, think twice. If your active with your stuff that may be OK but if it's just sitting there for years, not so much. Do your research. There are other places just as nice and cheaper plus they don't have to pay for all those annoying expensive TV commercials. The last thing is, really look at what you're storing. I rented one of the bigger units & once I finally moved out I took a hard look at some of the bigger pieces & thought "this stuff was not worth the space!" I guess if PS hadn't been so aggressive in raising prices I may have stayed for another 10 years so maybe it's good thing. I finally came to my senses, far poorer but hopefully smarter. Never the less I'm sure there's a conga line in Heaven made up of PS customers kicking themselves for staying too long. Doubt if I'll see any of the PS "higher ups" there though. Went in today to see about storage to put some of my stuff since I just sold my house. Alex was helpful in helping me find what size I needed. I thought I needed something huge but Alex went threw what I was storing and showed me the locker and he explained to me how to stack the stuff and let me know my movers should be able to stack it to fit and use all the space height. I have some very expensive furniture that I wanted to make sure it stays nice he showed me how to protect my wood stuff and mattress and sofa with stretch wrap and packing paper for what I had left of China. I let him know I've been using newspaper but he explained that this paper is good quality and doesn't leave ink all over which is true. He got me a great deal on my locker for only a 1.00 I'm very happy with Alex's customer service and being so knowledgeable to help me with my needs. Thank you George read more

The Los Alamitos Public Storage did everything they said they would and kept my junk safe. What else can you ask for in a storage unit? Their $1 dollar for the first month is legit. Of course it was more like $51 once the fees, paperwork and lock were purchased. The price is still amazing for one month, if you only need it for that month. We got the largest drive up unit they had for $51, which is regularly over $400. When we ended up being over by a week, they waived the late fee and only charged us for the week, not the whole month. Just for that they go on my awesome customer service list....wait...I don't have one of those....wait.......now I do. Of course to get the late fee waived, you have to call the corporate 800 number, not the local number, but they didn't hassle me at all about it. I even called while I was in the office in front of the staff, but they didn't mind....they want me to save money too. read more

Terrible customer service!...This guy Alex is extremely rude!...he just did not want to be there and he made that very clear!...When I asked for prices on the different box sizes he could not even give me the courtesy of looking at me when he answered. I was going to rent a storage space through him, but no way will I do business with such a rude, unprofessional little man such as he. Also, right before I left he had the audacity to ask me to right him a good review because his boss looks through them all. The place is clean and in a good location. The staff seem friendly enough. BUT...I've had my unit for five months now and just got a notice that my rates will go up by $22 per month. I guess this is kind of a scam because they know once you have all your stuff moved in, you don't want to have to move it again. Very disappointed! I was hoping that I would get at least a year before they raised the rates like an apartment. Some of the other reviews here say that this will happen again and again and again. Easy access, and easy manager to work with. Alex was helpful and got us a better deal and saved us some. I do not agree with their seven day holding policy. As my move out date was 8 days away, and lt expired! Then they turned around and hiked the price back up on the same room! When you call, which I did several times, make sure you leave a message! That's if you can reach a message machine! I tried calling, it was tough to get through. I get it, because only one person is working.. Also keep in mind public storage will blow you up daily. Also they didn't accept my own lock. You have to buy theirs. They also e mail you some pretty weird stuff. I think it may contain a virus or something.. Cause it was coming out as jibberish.. Anyways. That was my experience. Alex was good tho.. Just need storage! Not everything else that came with it!! read more
