They get this star for the only good thing about their business: Their staff. 50 years in business, yet still: 1- The space is DARK. Pitch black. No light in the unit. 2- I reserved and paid for the unit online. I didn't get the one month free deal that they offer. Not sure why. 3- I wanted to switch to a unit with a window so that at least I would see my stuff if I go there before closing time (not accessible 24/7) but the system is messed up so they couldn't switch without providing paperwork 4- You have to purchase their insurance and a lock from them: Hidden fees. In 2022. 5- I have a 45" case and I couldn't get it in the elevator horizontally. I needed to lift it up. Freight elevator? A bit tight. I wish I had time to search and find a competitor offering better value. And I know what they do for all those 5-star reviews. I overheard a customer at the premises. Beware. read more

I rent a unit here and my experience with Naomi has been the complete opposite. Naomi is so sweet and kind and ensures public storage is a safe and clean place to store your items. She is always cleaning and even when customers are rude and disrespectful she remains respectful. Just a few weeks ago I witnessed a homeless man who apparently rents a unit here speak very rudely and disrespectful to Naomi and she kept her composure. I commend her for being able to deal with people like that. read more

HAHAHA now that I've filed a complaint with the BBB the manager is finally calling me back. Oh and guess what? My online account is finally able to be activated! literally comical that this is such a shady business that you have to report them to get them to act appropriately. They owe me $40 in processing fees for forcing me to pay over the phone (since I couldn't access my online account and they only made it accessible once I filed a complaint with the BBB). They also owe me $60 in "late charges" even though I have emails from them stating my payment is due on the first and I have never made a late payment. This is the worst experience I have had today. Working with the Africa. American girl working today was brash and over audacious with her tone towards clients. I over heard her telling a aclient. She's been there for 5 years and she's knows her job. The client was taken back and told me doesn't look like be getting much help from Her. She's was not handicapped but psycho parking in the handicap spot of the building. Entitled she was Harassing me ever since she was Called out on parking there and kept on badgering me. I was outside writing this review while she continued to attack me. I wonder why after 5 years she got transferred to this location? Did she not get along with her team members? The customer service at this location is FANTASTIC. The gate access hours, however, are not. At this writing, gate access ends at 5:45pm on weekdays and 4:45pm on weekends. Huh?? How sway? I am totally baffled at who thought these hours was a good idea. Anyway, although I didn't reserve a unit here after hearing the gate access hours, I found the customer service impeccable. I didn't catch the girls name but she was a black girl with a thick ponytail. I'm not sure why I had such a poor experience compared to the rest of the reviewers. I originally reserved a small unit at this specific Public Storage back in early May after calling around asking different locations. They initially did a great job in calling me immediately after I reserved to confirm the details and dates I would come in to check out the unit. However, things went downhill after that. Upon arriving the designated day, the lady at the front notified me that the unit I had reserved (specifically) was unavailable at their location - which was the key reason why I chose it in the first place. Because I was short on time, I had no choice but to get a larger unit (i.e. more expensive), twice the size of what I needed. Not only that, but she forgot to apply the $1 for the first month promotion, another reason why I had chosen this place over others originally. Furthermore, I had to pay an additional $20 odd dollars for a mandated disk lock. Don't forget the one time $25 admin fee and required insurance (starts at $11/month). The condition of the units are pretty poor. The doors are wooden, which surprised me. I was used to seeing metal doors. Regardless, when I opened the door to the unit, there were a few dead roaches and broken glass on the ground inside - yikes. In addition, there was no light in the actual unit - there are only lights interspersed few and far in between the hallways. Before I went to end my lease this week, I tried to call the location ahead of time with some questions. But of course, no one ever answered any of the four times I called, nor did anyone respond to my messages. Overall, very disappointed in my experience with Public Storage and won't ever be storing my stuff with them again. If you are looking for storage, I would recommend Storquest instead! read more

After researching the best priced storage facilities in LA, I was more than pleased to find Public Storage at 4174 W. Pico Blvd. not only because of price but mainly because of Stanley and his helpful staff. Being new to the storage business, Stanley was very explanatory over everything I needed to know about storage. From the size of the space to the boxes to buy to even suggesting how to load the unit, Stanley was patient and informative on helping me make just the right fit! I could not have asked for a friendlier and more helpful staff for a newbie like me trying to gauge the amount of space needed for my stuff. Thank you Stanley! Looked here for storage and left quick. Sidewalk and lot is nothing but a homeless person shopping car parking lot and hotel. I counted 9 super loaded shopping carts parked, some with people sleeping under them with a blanket over the two in a make-shift shelter. The place smells like urine and dirt. Even though the building is really cool architecturally, I would rather not be in the lot. This place is downright sad. read more
