I rented for a few months and my initial experience was pretty bad I was tricked into buying a lock that I was told came with the rental. She was rude and wouldn't let me enter 15 mins within closing. I have an online store and this was crucial to my decision to move out. I wouldn't always be able to make it from day job before closing .. after a month staff changed. My experience was much better, there is tall gentlemen named Jeffrey even helped me move a dolly and shelving rack on my last day.. Staff is nice but poor communication on charges and potential fees. Our rent was raised with no warning mid way through our contract with Public Storage. To make matters more frustrating if you do not move out before the 1st of the next month you will be billed for the entire month. We moved out of our unit before 3pm on the 1st and were charged the full amount for an entire month. They prorate the move in date but do not prorate the move out date for this very reason. This is vulture capitalism at its finest. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are simply looking to maximize profits at your inconvenience and expense and didn't mind raising rent during an economic crisis. Also cleanliness of this facility is not the best. The unit was not clean and when we moved in and had no lights until we replaced them. read more

Facility is clean and Steven was very nice and helpful. I reserved a 5x5 unit online and when I arrived the 5x5 I was assigned was not really 5x5 as there is a building support pillar in one corner. This bothered me a little and I was told if I want a different one I will have to pay more than the advertised price. After consideration I decided it would probably still be large enough for what I need but I am a little disappointed that this is the first impression of Public Storage. read more

The worst. - Dishonest and deceitful property manager, insisted insurance was mandatory to make a few bucks off clients; only after much questioning did she admit it was not really. - Prepare to be charged a fortune for a cheap lock; - Storage unit was delivered NASTY, with rat feces and a dead rat inside; - Called Public Storage customer service twice to complain, both times I was promised a call back, no one ever called. Recently I attempted to add a few items to my storage unit. When I arrived the gate to access the unit was broken and had been broken for 3 days as per clerk. I had a stove and some boxes on a rental truck. The company and 2 supervisors refused to give me a safe location to store my items until the gate was repaired. I had to leave the items in their warehouse with lots of security cameras. I was told on Monday by a supervisor my property had been secured. When I arrived to move the items on SATURDAY....the antique stove was missing. Every effort to get help from the supervisors of this company is without any response. It now appears they may have stolen my property. DO NOT STORE WITH PUBLIC STORAGE they not only neglect their locations..they are horrible to the customer when there is a problem they have created. read more

This property in unsafe and has no security after 6pm. On 8/1/18 my personal unit was one of ten units that was ransacked by two burglars. Los Angeles Police Department officers from the Wilshire Division apprehended one of them. An alarm alerted LAPD as there was no one at the facility. I explained to the management that I was surprised that there was no night security for this enormous facility, and the manager told me I should have asked that question before I moved in. I've chosen not to press charges, and instead just move on. So I am helping any potential tenants for this facility: avoid Public Storage on Washington. read more

That's including her showing me my reserved unit and a larger one just in case my first pick wasn't big enough. Also, paperwork AND moving in. All in about 30 mins!!!!!!! Despite it being the first of the month (lots of people moving in and out) Dawn took her time to give me the upmost customer service other places fail to. ***Cheap units and monthly specials just ask. I do not like it when people drone on and on about bad experiences in reviews so I just want to give you the straight forward information and you can decide for yourself. I have posted pictures with captions to explain each. On January 9, 2017, I went to my storage unit for the first time since September 2016 and discovered that my unit and about 5 to 6 others were broken into by a person that was living in one of the units at this location. The wire mesh they use on the tops of the units had been ripped away allowing the person to climb in and take whatever he wanted. This was told to me by Dawn, the front desk clerk, and when I asked her why I was not notified, she said "we did not want to cause panic". Dawn is a nice girl and I am not writing to disparage her; however, them not notifying the tenants lead to me paying for a unit for 4 solid months that had been vandalized. I contacted the district manager, Andrew, asking for a refund from October through January, and he told me "you can't prove it happened in October". I was a bit stunned because even if it didn't happen in October when they admit many units were broken into, I would think they would have had some clue as to when it happened because they are supposed to perform security walks and check the tops of the units routinely (something else Dawn had said). He then said he would call me back, but did not. I then contacted the regional manager, Kathleen Jarnagin. I explained the situation to her, and told her that I wanted a refund from October through January, to which she gave me the run around citing contractual agreements that she believed took all responsibility off of Public Storage. The most they offered was to give me a refund for January in return for me signing a release not to take them to court. It was a terrible offer to which I declined. This whole situation occurred due to negligence allowing someone to live in a unit and be locked in at night with freedom to roam and break in to any unit they liked. Public Storage has cut feeds to most of the cameras with vantage points that view any of the units at this location, which you can see on a flat screen in the office, they have cut the security sensors on all the doors of the units, and do not fulfill any obligation to do minimal checks to be aware of break ins. Even after I became aware of the break in, it was 2 solid weeks and me having to reach the regional manager before they "repaired" the top of my unit even though Dawn said they would reach me to have it done when I asked on January 9th. They didn't secure the unit at all, and it was still pretty much open after they did their "work" on it. Like I said, I have told you the facts. This place doesn't want anyone to know that this happened for obvious reasons. I would have also reviewed it with about 4 stars had I not been aware of this secret they are keeping. I, unfortunately, had to move my things out quickly after 15 months of storage with Public Storage. read more

I should have known better, as I had a similar problem at a different Public Storage a few years ago... but after selling a home I stored furniture at this facility. Showed up with a $200/hr crew to move my things during the buildings open hours --- and yet it's closed. Eventually a guy shows up and says he doesn't have keys to open it. No apologies at all. It opened over an hour late and I have is $200 wasted because of the indifference and ineptitude. Additionally when we moved stuff out we realized there was not one but TWO leaks in the unit that causes damage to my furniture. The employee mentioned it could have been heavy rains and said I should have been notified of potential damage. I wasn't. They also said it could have been a leak in a pipe. We will never know for sure because instead of spending any time figuring out how or why my items got damaged, they RENTED THE UNIT BACK OUT IN 48hrs! Whomever is in that unit has a high likelihood of a leak, and Public Storage is well aware of it -- but rented it anyways, Its pure fraud. Finally, It took 4 days of calling daily to even get a phone call from the regional manager. $400 a month for bad service and damaged property. Avoid. read more

Not only did he help me obtain equipment to transport my stuff but he was very pleasant in doing so and it was towards the end of the closing day. It was okay.. they're great when you have your stuff there but the moment you move your stuff out, their attitude changes towards you.. it would be nice if they could add a dumpster so that people are able to dump their stuff out if need be. Other storages have them so please add a dumpster. Didn't appropriate it that they called and gave me attitude about leaving a furniture there when I had no choice since it didn't fit in the truck anymore and it was closing time, they were kicking us out already. Incredibly nice staff but this place is beyond a rip off. If you feel like paying over $200 a month for a TINY, unsafe, thin-walled space that only has chicken wire protection above your unit, then by all means sign up.
