Over the last year, prices have skyrocketed, but the actual service and safety have completely gone downhill. Today, the entire building had a power outage--the lights were completely out inside, and I was completely locked out with zero access to my unit. On top of that, the garage has been entirely shut down for months. This isn't a one-time thing either; last year it was closed for months at a time too. Because the garage is closed, you are forced to park outside on the street. This specific block has a massive issue with drug dealers and fentanyl users hanging out right on the sidewalk. Forcing customers to park outside and carry their items through that environment is a massive safety hazard. You pay a premium price for what is supposed to be a "secure" facility, but you can't get in, the garage is always broken, and you have to risk your safety just to visit your unit. This is the worst storage unit to have. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! I made the mistake and did . Here are the reasons: 1. It is cheap to start but once your things are settled after the first month, the bill goes up to over 200, I believe 230-250. 2. Managers do not help you and neither does the call center. They will tell you the wrong information such as: you can pay to leave then they will auction your things off while increasing your bill. 3. It's downtown. Homeless people everywhere. Elevator always broken. 4. Not enough moving carts . 5. Again, the people who work here do not know anything... from the call center to the employees in the office. They are always losing people because of how unorganized and how terrible this company truly is. I strongly advise not renting. I wish I knew this information before renting but just trust me when I say do your research first any storage unit. Now I understand the importance of a good storage unit and if you are here, get your things out asap! Avoid at all cost. The facility nice. AC was Nice. Location is sketchy. Checking In was easy. But my business office is in the fashion district so it was convenient. Other tenants are fine and respectful. But a place will only be as good as the people who are in charge of it, and the quality of interactions. The problem with this place is the woman who is in charge of the location. Shekana or Shekaba not sure. I have been a member for about 15 days And will cancel my membership. Extremely rude and disrespectful. Not only to me, but to every person I have seen her speak to. I had seen her twice and had noticed her berate other members. On the third time I visited the location, she spoke to me in an inappropriate tone. the conversation lasted 3 minutes, As I was walking out of the office, I said "this is a rude way to speak to a customer", having already decided that I was going to cancel my membership. | That woman said " I am going to call the police" ---- I did not say anything to cause that response, or raise my voice, or make any gesture toward her --- I was calmly walking out of the office, and she threatened to involve law enforcement. As soon as she said that I took my phone out and started recording and she did a 180 degree turn in her bully behavior, and started typing on the computer, when I asked her why she threatened to call the police she did not even answer, and continued typing acting like an angel. Which is exactly how bullies behave when they don't want their managers or bosses to find out. At that point it is no longer a matter of customer service, it is a matter of SAFETY, and I don't play with my safety, nor will I patronize a place ran by someone who acts that way. I know what I saw when I saw her berate the other customers, and on just the 3rd time I ever saw her, she thought it was appropriate not only to berate me, but to also threaten me for no reason. I went from wanting to upgrade my unit, decision I had taken the next day I moved in, to another one double the size, to a week later deciding that I would never step foot back at the location. It costs literally zero dollar to be a nice person, specially to a paying customer, or have the ability to communicate in a non-violent way, or explain things, and be friendly and helpful. Which is what a business that deals with logistics, and moving, storage, etc... is about and needs in a manager. I sincerely recommend to the owners do a survey with guests. From what I saw, zero manners, no people skills, communication abilities, or logic. Just rude rude rude. And I have only visited the location 3-4 times. I Ionly saw her twice, and the third time she berated me, and made me feel unsafe, and I took decision to never step foot there, just once more to remove my items, which is a hassle, but it is not worth the risk, and the unpleasantness and bad vibes. I am sure I am not the only customer who will recognize what kind of attitude I am talking about. I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled and took the time to write this review as a warning to the public, as this is an issue of safety, because we all know how things can get out of hand with the police in LA, and we have someone who instead of being hospitable, professional, friendly , explaining how things work, keeping customers happy, wanting to come back and spending money, when it is our payments that cover her salary, she instead alienates them by treating them like garbage, threatening them and making people feel unwelcome and unsafe. So disappointed. I was really short on money and chose Secure Space because they had 50% off the first two months and claimed to be open till 10:00PM. I had reserved and paid for a 8x10. When I physically arrived Janet, the manager, showed me my space & I quickly realized I needed a 10x10 which also had a 50% off per their site. She told me there might be complications with the change & said she'd call corporate. I came back from a trip and found that I had been charged full price for my first month. I called and called and they never answered. I left word with their answering service. She never called. The second month I got charged full price again. Finally I went down to speak with her. She lied through her teeth saying she'd called on a particular date. That imaginary call wasn't in my call history and I said as much and she showed that she really didn't care. She said that corporate had said because I had originally got one deal and didn't wait 3 days for a refund that I didn't get the deal. I didn't have 3 days to wait. I had to get everything out of my apartment and was taking a trip. She was apathetic. Furthermore she had no work ethic. They had 3 carts for moving our stuff and they were only available till 6PM & then locked up due to theft of one. My poor back suffered the results of that. Also all 4 floors had pools of water from AC units. There was garbage and rotting food on the floors. She clearly sat on her butt and got paid. It is only months later that they are open till 10 and leave carts out. I got screwed out of my discount and hurt myself moving stuff without a cart. read more

After several confirmation emails and texts for move-in day, we waited six hours at the facility for a manager to come let us in with no bathroom and no ability to get inside. From 10am to 4pm, no one was on site, our calls kept being forwarded, and everyone at the call center was beyond nasty. They provided no help whatsoever. They did not have our lease, did not have the unit I reserved, and led us and our movers to an already occupied unit. After moving our things 3 different times and paying the movers an extra $700 to sit and wait, we finally moved our things in. Find any other place but this one. Negative stars. read more

Like many others, we were looking for a storage facility in the area during a very busy time. Initially, my son called and spoke with Isai who was great and answered our 50 questions,lol. Instead of getting annoyed, he was so helpful and friendly! On move-in day, it was super busy, there. The manager, Dion was the solo person in the office when we arrived and kudos to him! There were others he was helping but he recognized us and assured us he would assist us, shortly. The manager couldn't be more helpful to all he was assisting on that busy day. DO NOT use this storage facility. They fleece customers every chance they get. I had auto payments from my credit card to cover my monthly payments. All payments were timely until my credit card was lost so I had to get a new card and forgot to update the card on file. They waited more that 30 days to call and then charged me an auction fee even after I realized the error, paid the balance due and changed gave them the new card. Facility is great, storage space was what I needed and easy to access. On-site manager (on-site in a building 1 block away), John, was friendly and helpful. Access through the app or gate code is nice, and the facility feels secure. Location was convenient for me to access and enjoyed having my stuff nearby. Building is clean and they provide wheeled dolly/carts on-site to move your stuff around. Things were going great until the gate broke and it took a week to fix the access. You could still get in but needed to call the manager to come over from around the corner. At the same time, the cost of monthly storage was going up 40%- this was after 3 or 4 months! Because of the inconvenience, they delayed the increase for another 3 month. But then, another 3 months later, the monthly rate increased again! to about 78% over the initial price, about 9 or 10 months after moving in. I moved my stuff out this month- facility is nice but not worth the current cost and a fee that apparently goes up every 3-4 months,in my opinion. Shame on me for not doing more in-depth research- while the prices aren't listed as promotional, they are also not guaranteed for any length of time and I'm sure it's all in the contract. But if you choose to rent here, keep in mind that the advertised rate changes quickly and once your stuff is there you'll be paying a lot more than you planned pretty fast. read more

In under a year the monthly rent for my unit has increased from 238$ to 389$ per month. Not sure this can even be legal, but is an old tactic of unscrupulous storage owners to bring people in cheap then raise prices astronomically, knowing that the difficulty for tenants to move all their stuff means they'll just have to settle for the higher costs. However in this case something is being done to reign in this daylight robbery. And we wonder how kleptocracies can happen on a national scale? Well they happen because of lots and lots of tiny greedy "businessmen", who justify their greed with "it's just business, it's not personal". Actually it is intensely personal for those caught in the greedy's trap, worrying how to manage these escalating costs, for which we get the same crappy place with elevators constantly out of order. The most unprofessional storage facility I've ever used! Came to move our stuff at 12 pm only to find a sign on the office door saying the manager was out of the office. Called the phone number provided. Then was told that "the manager is on lunch" and the customer service rep refused to give a solution. So now my movers and I are sitting here waiting on someone. And now I'm going to be late for work. Have to pay the movers more than was planned. And have to pay more for the time spent with the truck. This is the worst company in the United States. First of all they refused to tell you who the general manager of the unit is after they try to double your rent after the first three months you're there my rent when I first moved in three months ago after accepting the first two months 50% off my rent was $115 a month then they sent me an email yesterday saying next month which will be the third month my rent is going up from one15 to 197 $. That's a $1200 per year increase. I called. I said I want to speak to the general manager. They said you need to report in person. I can't tell you who the general manager is and I can't let you speak to them unless you come in person. I am not a slave of this company. I do not appreciate being treated like a slave, like some ignorant person, that's kept bondage and not allowed to know who the general manager of a facility that's holding my materials This company is absolutely horrendous. They have a major homeless encampment problem surrounding their building. They offer the first two months 50% off and then they wanna raise your rates $100 a month. I haven't even been I called. Terrible customer service!!!! We signed a lease several weeks ago with a start date of yesterday for my son to store things over the summer. Were told (on phone and via email) he should come any time during business hours. He arranged transportation to get his things over there today and arrived at 5:10pm (closing time was 6pm). He found a "closed" sign on the door, so I called and was told that my son needed an appointment, and that that no appointments can be scheduled for the hour before closing. I shared the instructions that we received (saying to come at any time during business hours), that my son was standing outside the facility with his things, that he didn't have transportation to get them there another day, and that he was in the middle of final exams and it would be hard to find another time, and could they please consider letting him in... Nope! Was told they were too busy and couldn't possibly let him in today because they were within one hour of closing. The person I was speaking with (who was just on the other side of the door-- my son could see him talking to me on the phone) was a manager, which surprised me because he was rude and unhelpful and didn't seem to care that we were following the instructions provided after signing the lease, yet still not able to access the storage space that we had already paid for. At 5:30pm (still 30 minutes before closing time), as my son made arrangements to move his belongings back to his dorm room, he could see the 'busy' manager mopping the floor. read more
