My mom had a unit here and passed away so Kristen and Mell helped us navigate the paperwork needed to get the lock changed on the unit and get back into her unit (after 40 days which is nevada law) They walked us through every step Let us know the whole process and what paperwork needed to be turned in. A frustrating part is that this location is rarely staffed - we had to go to the location on Telegraph to get a live person (vs the Live chat on the kiosk), so if you need a person, try the Telegraph location in the mornings Other frustration point - Public Storage locked us out of the unit for the 40 days, but still required us to pay the storage fee - I know they had to follow the NV law, but seemed a little wrong to pay on a unit I couldn't access (I had the gate code provided by my mom and was an Emergency Contact on her contract, but wasn't an Authorized User or we could have emptied it right away) Would definitely recommend this place, was clean, quiet and the employees were great. read more

The person or persons that live on property are super super rude and disrespectful for no reason! Krystin at Boxington, Sparks, NV location is a ray of sunshine and talent in an otherwise very poorly run organization. She gets 5 Stars, 6 Stars, if I could!! Company gets an overly generous 2 stars, at best. Krystin joyfully, kindly and expertly shares her deep knowledge helping tenants navigate procedures and opportunities of their occupancy, whether moving in, out or transferring units. The company engages in obscene, unjustifiable rent increases, poor website/IT design/operation, insists on charging for locks already returned resulting in cc delayed refunds days later. They don't even provide venue managers with appropriate cleaning tools including high powered blowers to properly clean units of dust and dirt (floors, ceilings, walls). These persistent management issues require more knowledgeable and capable senior company personnel. read more

The worst service in the world. I made a reservation for a storage unit and paid for one month, fees, and insurance. During the night, I received a refund that was $50 less than what I originally paid. I didn't receive any further notifications. When I arrived with a truck full of belongings, an employee informed me that they had no record of my reservation. They offered a smaller and more expensive storage unit than what was advertised online. I had no choice but to pay again for a storage unit and suffer a loss of $50 due to the cancellation of my reservation by the service itself, as well as the increased cost of the storage unit. There is no customer support available. They don't answer their phone, and there is no way to send them an email. read more

Absolutely love the customer service. In the last week there have been two times that i needed help while arriving/leaving my unit. Both times I was helped in person which was not expected since it is a self storage type place. First time i arrived and my app was not working and I could not open the gate, but the son of the man working rolled up on a bike and I asked him for assistance and he kindly went and asked his dad to assist me. I got in and out no problem.. dropped off what i needed to at my unit and left with no issues. Tonight i came and ended up over welcoming my stay past 9pm (didn't know we closed at 9pm.. (it's sunday.. i should have.) The nice man at the front building came out and opened the door for me and let me out regardless of me not knowing that they were closed. I would have spent the night if I had known that. These guys are amazing, highly recommend. -Brett read more

Ridiculous price hikes over the last 18 months. My unit hasn't changed. The unit door had rusted so badly, with no seal at the bottom, that every single belonging including expensive camera lights, displays and equipment is absolutely covered in a thick layer of dust. That along with constant piling of other peoples crap around our units location. There are no cameras that point towards the location of our unit and the days we go in early, 6.30a.m., there is always something sitting there that has simply been discarded. Just can't justify $200 a month for a 10x10 especially one that is going to cost me time and money in cleaning costs for our belongings. Two stars is only because the facility is an easy nine minute drive away. read more

I had a reservation for June 3 unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control I got to Reno late. Sunday we tried to finish the transaction for my storage. I paid online and could not get my gate code. I called the customer service, they told me to call the local property I called and left messages over and over and as of Monday late afternoon, I still have not heard from them. When I get to the property today there was nobody around except the kiosk and it's all very confusing. They never answer their phones and by the way in process of online rental I ended up having to buy a lock for $15 and add their insurance. So a $181 transaction turned into me at $230 transaction. I wish I could've found another storage company and got my money back but I was told by customer service I could not at this point. Unfortunately , I am stuck for the time being. read more

It was a piece of cake. I was able to make an online reservation and pay with my debit card which took only 15 minutes. I received a confirmation shortly after. After making my initial payment, I received a second email welcoming me and providing with the actual unit # and then on move in day I received the gate code and when I arrived at my unit they had already provided me a lock so I did not have to go and buy one myself which I had not even considered. Wow!!!! I am so very pleased and impressed with the folks at this location, specifically Esther, who helped me with a quite complicated issue created by the fact that I am now living a whole state away from my unit in Sparks. Hearing my problem, even on a Saturday, when upper management was not around, she was ON it. She made the neccisary phone calls to fix my problem and called me back within an hour, ready with a solution. I remember Esther being lovely when I first signed on for my lease, and today she truly went above and beyond...I am so grateful!!!! Thanks again Esther and everyone else involved! read more

I closed out my account and bid Public Storge a (dissatisfied) goodbye. Barbra and Rebecca were awesome to deal with, but my gripe is with the company itself! When I first opened my in Oct. 4 - 2016 at the price of 41.00$ plus 11.00$ insurance. Monthly. Then I get a notice telling me that my monthly fee went up to 65.oo$ monthly and just recently received another notice telling me of yet another increase!! This is a 5 x 5 storage unit. It seems as if their coupons are only honored when they feel like it. This is ridiculous! I will never go back to Public Storage again. I don't allow myself to be priced gouged. Worst experience I've ever had with a company. The website says the first month is a dollar. It is not. I reserved online to get the 15% discount that it advertises. There is not one. I reserved it and they asked me to come in early to pay for it to secure it because they will let as many people reserve the same unit and then whoever comes in first gets it. . . Correct me if I'm wrong, (I'm not) but doesn't that negate the whole entire concept of reserving? I go and reserve it, they try to sell me a $20 lock that I already purchased for $9 at target. She asks me if I have a lock, I tell her yes and that I have it on me. At this point she doesn't inform me that it needs to be on the unit once it's rented. They never tell me a lock needs to be on the unit even when it's empty and I tell them I'm not moving in until the following week because they asked me to come in early. Fast forward to moving day, after 4 days of moving on the other end and a ten hour drive in a uhaul truck, I get to the unit and they have put a lock on my unit. I cannot access it at all. I call the corporate office because it's 9 pm and I have to work at my new job the next day which is why I moved. I explain to them that this is a mistake that their company has made and ask them to call the manager and have them remove the lock. I explain that the fee in my truck is $120 for an extra day. They tell me they are not going to do anything and to call the office tomorrow when it opens. Basically telling me to go f myself even though the mistake is on them. As I'm leaving, I realize there's an on-site manager. I knock on the private residence door, and I do not care that it is after hours, just like they don't care that they are costing me money. The manager answers and I am very kind to her because I realize she doesn't have anything to do with the issue with corporate. Side note: the living quarters from what I can see from the door looks like an episode of hoarders. I have never had someone be ruder to me. Her name is Diana and she told me to come back the next day. I explain to her that I am not coming back tomorrow and I want the lock off my unit. She asks what unit it is and then slammed the door in my face. She then stomped out the back door to her car and went and unlocked it. At this point I realize with people this unprofessional and ghetto running the facility that my belongings are not safe here. I pay the extra $120 to keep the truck another day and another $220 at a different company to rent a storage unit. Thanks Public Storage, horrifying experience, thanks for costing me a considerable amount of money and having to look unprofessional at my new place of employment for having to call in. There are plenty of good quality facilities in town don't waste your time here. read more

Worst customer service ever. Rebecca is not obviously schooled in this. I went to park my trailer there and after about 20 minutes I realized I could not get it into the spot that they had given me. I had already paid before literally not more than 20 minutes before. They would not return my money! Can you believe that? I'll never recommend them to anyone and because of that experience they lost my whole family as customers. Rebecca was rude and did not even show any empathy about the situation. I just want to take a moment to say what a positive experience I've had with Lani at this Public Storage location. My initial visit with her was to find out my options. I was leaving a personal situation that was very emotional for me and she was not only helpful and knowledgeable, but very kind an empathetic to my situation. She explained my options thoroughly, offered suggestions and packing supplies and walked me to look at a few units so I could see the sizes. It seems somewhat rare these days to encounter someone who is really helpful and cares about the customer and the experience you give them.
