I've been with Public Storage for less than six months, and already my rent has doubled from $68 to…read more$137 per month. This is part of the aggressive "existing customer rate increases" strategy, where storage companies lure customers with low initial rates, then drastically hike prices once they know it's difficult to move out. Public Storage, in particular, seems to use this tactic to maximize profits, misleading customers into thinking they're getting a good deal. While the unit itself is clean, the building's security is a major issue--the door has been broken for months and can't be locked, leaving my belongings vulnerable. I'm disappointed by both the price hike and the ongoing security problems. I know if I do not move out, they are going to more than double my rent again by the end of the year... assuming my belongings aren't stolen first.

In January 2024 I sized down to an 8x6 ft. unit, pic attached. It was a simple process that reduced my fee to $121 a month. The facility is very secure and well maintained. Mary the manager lives on site, and has picked up on a Friday night when I was going to leave a voicemail. Mary is very organized and made it very easy to downsize to a smaller unit. During office hours 9-6pm, every day except holidays there's a maintenance person on site as well. I had an excellent experience during the 38 months my belongings were stored there and was completely confident that they were safe. I highly recommend this storage facility.
