    Turning in a 16' truck, I went to customer service and handed over the key after a short wait in…read moreline. The young lady went to check the truck then came back and filled out her paperwork. Since I had insurance, they didn't worry about the dent I had made. She told me there was an extra charge for lateness (I arrived 5 minutes late) but it was up to Penske to charge me. They never did. Overall I felt Penske treated me like a valuable customer.

This Penske rental is out of the Home Depot Store…read more First they couldn't find the keys, then they couldn't release the truck because they were all signed out, then there was a beeping noise in the truck that the service rep didn't recognize (air brake beep) then she couldn't find our contract proving the rental was pre paid. An hour later I decided to pay again just so I could get the truck and get to my job (an hour late) I was never instructed or told of additional charges. When I dropped off the truck I was told I had to pay 98 dollars for gas. After several attempts to charge me, the service rep told me they couldn't get into the computer and that I could go. The next day I had a 175 dollar charged to my credit card. I went to Home Depot to ask what the charge was for and that said it was a gas charge. Penske and Home Depot have horrible customer service, horrible communication, horrible organization and did nothing to help me with any of the above issues. If you need to rent a truck, rent from Ryder or U-Haul and go straight to the rental company, don't use a middle man or third party

This company does not compensate any DAMAGE or LOSS that happens during moving. 2. This company is UNINSURED. 3. This company is NOT REGISTRED in California as moving service company. This is the fallacy of Yelp's recommendation system. I fell into it. You could. FIND ANOTHER company. Serious. Here is my true story. I moved by 50min driving time. I called 3 men crew, they worked approx 5 hours. I paid $760.00, which is indeed more that you could expect. 1. During the move, one crew broke my tea table. I forgave, not did not charge the cost. 2. In 1 day after the move, we found an expensive plant is missing. They took it out from the old place (this is correct because I took photos of the old place after they moved all the stuffs out). It never arrived. One crew member was interested in my plant during move, though I don't judge that he would steal. ) 3. I called Sean, the chairperson of Movers Anonymous, who did not answer. Left voice message. in 34 hours, I got a call back. Discussed. He promised to call back but did not for another 2 days. 4. I emailed him. He said he would return immediately. Never happened. 5. Now it has been 10 days. Sean, the chairperson of this company, never return my email/phone, and does not resolve this issue. Upfront before moving, I asked Sean about loss/damage insurance. He said they don't have insurance, but they WILL pay outof their pocket on any circumstance. Ask him. He will say the same thing. But will you believe him? Moving process takes so many contingency. It is not possible you can record and remember every step. That's why insurance and proper inventory keeping is important. Movers anoynmous is great in the sense that crew members are kind and diligent. Is that sufficient? No. your goal is moving safely. My goal was violated. I believed Yelp's recommendation (5 stars). Not for your valuable stuffs. Here is the last line: Movers Anonymous is not trustworthy.

    It hurts me to write this review because in the past I have RAVED and recommended these movers to…read moreanyone who even dreamt of moving. I have used M.A. twice. Once in 2010 and once in 2011. I not only told the movers how they were the best and tipped accordingly I even wrote Sean the owner to let him know how great they were. Fast forward to August 2014. We had a complicated move, which I stated in my very detail email. I suggested the movers the most comprehensive way to move out of our place into the Pods...well...they kinda did it backwards and ended up wasting a lot of time and even banged up one of the floor boards moving a L-shaped Couch (which was not meant to come through the house at all ) through the house out the front door. Anyways...the guys Fred and Ronnie were nice guys and hard workers. But the move took probably an hour or so longer than it should of. When I called Sean with my grievances (I did so with a heavy heart and expressed that to him). He was rude and cold and accused me of cheating him out of 80 dollars because I was confused about the set up fee. Although his employee gave me a bill I paid exactly what the bill had written on it. So HIS employee mis calculated. I was told that "I should have known because I know his {his} company works"..... I was absolutely offended. I hired them 3 times in 4 years. He didn't offer to accommodate me at all even though my husband whom is a real estate agent talks up his business to all of his clients whom buy homes. To accuse me of deliberately stealing $80 buy not paying him. (A woman who has hired him more than once) is too much. His employees only take cash after the move, they did NOT give me a receipt and then had me feel out a questionnaire about how my move meant. It was not even an anonymous questionnaire?!? One of the questions is, "did anything get broken in the move?" How should I know? We hadn't unpacked anything yet. I wrote..."not sure yet". Unfortunately the floor board is damaged as well as a dresser drawer handled that was badly bent. The 3 stars are an average of the other moves. The first move was a 5 the second a 4.5 (the movers were a tad late but worked like mules... btw...Those gentlemen no longer work with Mover's Anonymous which is a shame). The third move is a 2 because the guys (who I did have some issues with i.e. the floorboard damage, leaving behind their trash on my property, taking a break only 2 hours after arriving when they knew one Pod needed to be packed by 1pm) were really nice guys and hard workers. Unfortunately Sean was very unprofessional when dealing with a disgruntled thrice repeat customer whom previously has given him nothing but kudos. Not nice Sean. ;-(

    Taylor and Carlos (forgive me guys if I missed out on a name) moved us on the most horrific rainy…read moreday in the recent deluge, from Novato to San Rafael. Despite the conditions, they were positive and efficient; even a stubborn king-sized bed required a master-level disassembly, and they handled it with aplomb. Also, setting up the move was long-time J&D employee Mike, who was completely professional and spot-on with the very reasonable cost estimate, even with the horrible weather. Hats off to these three and J&D (who had ironically moved OUT the previous tenant in our new location) - nothing was a slam dunk about this move, but they certainly made it seem that way.

    We've used these guys twice in the last year as we were in a transitional home for 9 months until…read morewe found a more permanent place. Both quotes came from Michael Volpe. The second quote was for 12K to move two miles. The first move was from San Francisco to San Rafael. It was about 30 boxes and some very small furniture and clothing. Excect on moving day the guys did not bring wardrobe boxes, so my husband had to bring all of our clothes in the car. No apology, no adjustment to the bill. A few days ago we moved from a small two bedroom condo to a single level home 2 miles away. We asked them to pack and unpack. I was told by Michael that they would pack and unpack for us. We are an older couple, both with injuries and so we were looking forward to the help. We were booked with 7 guys for 71/2 to 81/2 hours over two days. The move started off bad, as we were told they "don't really unpack as they are not organizers." We were confused as we were led to believe they would put some stuff away, which apparently they do to some extent. I asked them to simply label the boxes from where they took them. E.g. "Master bathroom vanity drawer." They did not really label stuff and to be honest, they just threw a lot of stuff in boxes. So when they got to the new place they did not know where to put some of the boxes and it was pretty clear they did not care. By 12:30 on the first day, Ronaldo (lead guy) informs me he can't complete the move that day. I asked why and he said several times, "Are you cool with paying me overtime? If I don't stop now it's time-and a half." At the same time he was also saying he did not want a long day on the second day of the move. So I contacted Michael who said he would talk to Ronaldo. Keep in mind, I'm there alone, while my husband is in the new place. Ronaldo is pissed at this point and tells his team they have to "Move this Sh__ !" I felt really uncomfortable. So they had no problem at all moving everything over to the new place. I think they left around 4:00 after taking a 25 minute break in the morning and at least 45 minutes for lunch, which I supplied and they seemed to feel entitled to. The next day they showed up at 8:15 to unpack. It was a joke. They stained the wall from moving. My husband just had it painted and it not take a picture, so we can't file a claim. He did get them to help put stuff away, but they mostly put stuff where ever they wanted and it was random as they did not label boxes correctly. They were gone bynoon however, so no one had a long day, expect us, as we are still trying to figure out where our stuff is days later.
