PUBLIC STORAGE IS NOT ADA COMPLIANT!!!!! DO NOT LET YOUR DISABLED FAMILY MEMBERS GET INVOLVED WITH THEM!!!!!!! I contacted Public Storage at Howe Avenue a few days ago regarding my mother's account. She is stage 4, in hospice, bedbound, in a wheelchair, and on oxygen. She wanted my brother and me to be on her account due to the fact that she is actively dying and wanted us to have access to everything having to do with the account and our belongings. I called Public Storage and asked for disability accommodations in accordance with the ADA, and they told me that my brother and I could come down to the office to have the information switched. We went down there, and they decided to rescind their agreement, stating that my bedbound, dying mother had to get out of bed in the 90+ degree heat to come down to present her driver's license in person to get our names on the property that she has been paying for for over 5 years. So we decided to try to access the unit while we were there. Our keys did not work. We came back with every single key in our house, and none of our keys worked. We went back into the office again to ask if the lock had been cut, and we were told NO. So we decided to come back today, Friday May 22nd, and bring our mom down to get the account swapped, since they said they couldn't cut the lock for us until we were on the account. Then found out, while there, that they do not cut locks for us. They can either submit a request that can take up to 30 days, hire a locksmith, or let their bill default, and we will pay a late fee. So, we hired a locksmith today, which cost us $85. When the locksmith opened the unit, there was our old lock, drilled out, lying on the floor inside our unit. It had been cut off and relocked, and we were lied to TWICE by office staff that the lock had not been cut and that we were crazy. The office, of course, closed two hours early today at 4pm, when they were supposed to be open until 6 pm today, so I also had to go and purchase a lock from elsewhere to secure my unit and my belongings. This is beyond bad business and against the ADA. I have already filed a report with the BBB. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I would like to start with this is more of an issue with the company than this actual location. I am moving today, and my new rental isn't ready for about 5 days, so I needed to rent a storage unit, and I did so yesterday morning. I know last minute. I initially found one for a different location, but still a public storage, and paid my enrollment fee of $29, $15 insurance and $40 for the unit, so I can have access asap. However, I realized not 15 minutes later that they have an early closing time, and the one right down the street has a later one by four hours. So I called customer service to ask if I could switch locations. They told me yes, I can however they won't refund the enrollment charge, and I will again have to pay a new one of $29 at the new unit. I was annoyed but went along with it. However, since I just created an account 15 minutes before, I am no longer a new customer and am not eligible for any promotion. So I also went along with this situation and put it in my husband's name so we could get the promotion. I rented the. New unit at the facility with the later closing time. Packed up my car and headed over. I had no problem getting in the gate via my code; however, when I went looking for my unit A122. I couldn't get into the hallway of the unit because there was no door handle. All the other hallways had door handles. I went to the two hallways on both sides, thinking they connected. They didn't. I went to the front desk. It was closed. This time I'm really upset. I called customer service after multiple transfers. They told me that they have a number that's not public for the property manager, as she is available until 5 pm. So they transferred the call, and of course no answer, and then the phone hung up. I immediately called back and got a new rep in who this person did the same go around, except he said he wouldn't hang up the call if the property manager didn't answer. Well, guess what they did. I called back again and asked for a supervisor. They said there is not one available. So I asked if he could switch me to another unit so I can start what I need to do since I'm on a schedule. He then told me I would be responsible for the price difference should there be one. Even though it has nothing to do with me, it's their issue, and then he says it will be $95 more today. I said absolutely not, and he then told me it's not their fault. You need to use your PIN as if I don't know this. By this point, I'm so upset, and I'm on the premises. So I go to the door by the office, the one that the person. Who lives on site is in. I rang the doorbell, and she came on and told me that this is a tenant. The office is closed. While I am in tears and trying to explain what's going on, she hangs up on me. Now literally all my belongings are on my grass because I can't get into the unit and have to wait until 9 am tomorrow ... Their customer service is horrible, and it all seems very wrong. I mean, why rent a unit if there is no handle to get in the hallway or a code entrance? Super frustrating now, I just want my refund back and to move on with a new facility. I wish I could put 0, service is trash. nobody is ever at the storage. they don't have the best attitude. they sneak it all different types of fees for no reason not accommodate. got a storage the 31st of a month next day they charged 70$ that I wasn't aware of and if I would have known I would have waited the extra day to rent. the 2nd of the month charging 50$ late fee because I wasn't aware or contacted they rob you blind. don't recommend terrible service. read more

(IN a meeting) She called us back promptly to make an appointment to come. We have never had someone so friendly and helpful!! She is definitely an amazing employee & an asset to your company!! I think it's bitter sweet on the high securities. Can't get out of its past 6:30 and that's very early for people who work full time. However if you aren't supposed to be in the facility or on the property... you won't be able to get out unless you call an after hours number and 10 mins later after giving all information needed they will let you out. Like I said it's bitter sweet, because the chances of theft are low because of that, but the inconvenience is also very high. I recommend to people who don't have tight schedules and can get there early during the day. Because past 6:30, your screwed. So far, that's the only thing I dislike. And the prices, are a bit high. read more

I have had raises since. Moved in in 6/18 Now I'm finding out folks are able to rent For $100 less than what I am paying. I asked the manager why Omg. Her reply was it is real estate. I cannot believe that this is legal. There is no paperwork anywhere to inform one of there prices. They verbally tell you. I asked the female manager If she thought this was fair to charge me $100 more per month? Omg. Look out!!!!!! Her reply was... Our storage prices change daily.....Beware.....Beware....I don't understand this at all. I will be looking into this! At the first of this year January 2020 I had been in the same shed for probably four years somebody broke in and stole a lot of stuff I've turned in please reports and stuff to the insurance that we pay for to have the shed as of now from January 2020to now September 2020 they still have not paid for anything they say they don't pay anything without pictures or receipts we are never told that we need pictures or receipts I have a lawyer working on it now and he gets the same story they don't trust that the stuff that you have in your shed that you pay for monthly and you pay for the insurance is yours read more

When my neighbor's toilet decided to break and flood the entire bottom floor of my condo, I had to rush out my furniture and belongings as quick as could be. Where to put them was my next question. I had remembered utilizing Public Storage on Folsom Blvd once before in an emergency situation so using my instinct, I decided to try out another nearby Public Storage. It provided me with exactly what I needed. I met Samuel, the man in charge upon my visit. He was warm and friendly and very understanding of my circumstance. He whisked me away onto the golf cart and showed me two different units. I chose one of the medium sized ones, signed the paper work, and paid for my $1 rent (plus insurance and other fees). It came out to around $51 for the first month. Soon after, I began storing all of my belongings in my new storage unit. It was helpful as workers had to completely demolish my kitchen and I needed a place to store my dishes. Samuel called a couple times to check in to see if I was pleased with Public Storage's services. Had I actually called back, I would have said definitely! When I ended my storage stay at Public Storage, cancellation was easy as could be. It took less than 5 minutes to go through the process. Simple. Need a place to store your things? I have been using Public Storage for 5 months. I filled a 10x30 unit with the contents of a four bedroom home. My rent has been increased $43.00/mo. almost a 20% increase. I noticed when I received confirmation of the auto payment. I contacted them and they advised a postcard with the increase had been sent but I have not seen one. They suggest moving to a smaller unit as a solution knowing that moving a 10x30 unit is not an easy task. From what I've discovered while reading online this is a standard practice for Public Storage. Please keep this in mind before moving anything there. read more

I went to Public Storage on Howe to help set up storage for a friend who had furniture arriving early while she and her husband were out of town. I set it up initially by phone and within minutes I received a phone call welcoming me to the Public Storage. Then when it came time to transfer the unit in my friend's name I called and talked to Christianne. She is amazing! Wonderful customer service and very professional. We ended up transferring it at 5:55 pm and they close at 6:00pm. Christianne was so accommodating. She never rushed up and stayed after hours to make sure all was just right. She was very friendly and helpful. What a pleasure to do business her with such a great lady. I will definitely recommend it to my friends. Someone tried to break in my unit at this storage facility, which by the way does not have cameras everywhere. I was contacted a week ago by the property manager saying someone tried to fain access. They were able to break the mechanism that my lock goes into, but couldn't actually go in. I don't have access because they put their lock on it and was told if I wanted access to purchase another lock, which by the way, they charged me $25 to begin with. I'm still waiting on PS to fix it so I can gain access . I talked to the GM about the inconvenience and was told initially that since nothing was stolen, not an issue except for the inconvenience it caused me. I wanted a discount should I need another month. I'm not happy about the experience or the service. read more

Christianna did a great job, I reserved my storage online and was in the same day to get a tour. my unit was easily accessible. I paid for the space, lock, and insurance (which is mandatory). But i only needed it for a couple of weeks, she explained in full detail my contracts, and was very straight forward with me. My girlfriend and I need a place to store our stuff tell we got a new apartment and we did not have enough money at the time to pay the whole bill so he payied out of his own pocket about 15 bucks. He was so kind in helping me and my gilrfriend i would go back to him in a heart beat if i needed to store my suff again. and he even said i can use his name in a refural for a job.
